The H4n Pro is packed with features that make it perfect for capturing audio for film. The onboard X/Y microphones deliver spectacular stereo imaging, and two combo input jacks allow you to use your favourite microphones as well. It also includes a headphone/line out jack to easily send high-definition stereo directly to your camera.

The Pro is perfect for capturing live performances. Capable of handling up to 140 dB SPL, it can record everything from ear-splitting heavy metal to bass-heavy EDM. Take a line-level stereo feed from your mixing console and capture room ambience with the X/Y microphones to put your listeners front row centre.

The H4n Pro provides the essential combination of mic'ing versatility, portability, and superior audio necessary for impactful storytelling. With support for plug-in power, you can use a lavalier to mic up your subject for podcasts or interviews. Record time-stamped WAV files to sync with video footage in post-production, or embed superior audio directly on your video in real-time through a 1/8" stereo feed.

With overdubbing and punch-in features, as well as studio-grade instrument effects and emulators, you can create songs from start to finish. The Pro also functions as a 2-input/2-output USB audio interface for PC or Mac. Launch your favourite recording/editing software or use the included Cubase LE to start creating.

The Pro features the same high performance, low-noise mic preamps as our acclaimed Zoom H5 and H6 Handy Recorders, with recording and playback at resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz. The improved noise floor (-120 dBu EIN) captures audio at lower volumes with less noise and fewer artefacts.

X/Y stereo recording covers a wide area while capturing sound sources in the centre with clarity and definition. The angle of its two unidirectional condenser mics can easily be changed from 90 degrees for a tightly focused stereo image to 120 degrees for a wider image simply by twisting the mic capsules.

The H4n Pro provides an onboard MS decoder for Mid-Side recording with external microphones. This allows you to adjust the width of the stereo image, making it especially useful for sound design and broadcasting.

The two locking combo connectors accept either XLR or 1/4" balanced/unbalanced phone cables, handling mic- and line-level signals as well as instrument-level signals. Phantom Power of +24 or +48 volts can be applied to both inputs. Plus, there's a stereo 1/8" Mic jack for external audio sources, including lavalier microphones requiring 2.5 volts of plug-in power.

A stereo 1/8" Line/Phone Out, with dedicated volume control, allows for headphone monitoring or connection to your DSLR, while the built-in monophonic speaker allows for quick playback reference. In addition, a USB port enables fast file transfer, firmware updates, and use as a 2-in/2-out audio interface for computers.

A new rubberized, ergonomic body is perfect for use in the field or with a camera, while new locking XLR/TRS connectors ensure your mic cables stay secure. Highly portable, the H4n Pro can travel anywhere for convenient mobile recording.

In addition to being an 8-track recorder that utilizes SD memory, the R8 is an audio interface, a control surface and a pad sampler.

With the ability to record two tracks simultaneously, the R8 is perfect for capturing audio on-the-go. The R8 is more than a multi-track recorder. When combined with your compute, it becomes a powerful audio interface. Simultaneous 2-in/2-out capability allows you to record up to 24-bit/96kHz high-definition audio. If you use the 44.1kHz sampling rate, the internal DSP effects of the R8 are also available for your computer tracks. A dedicated control lets you adjust the mixing balance between the DAW playback sound and the direct sound for monitoring.

Computers bring incredible control and power to the recording process, but they're not very intuitive when it comes to mixing. Through a simple USB connection, you can control the transport and mixing functions of major DAWs such as Cubase, Logic, and Sonar from the R8. No more mixing with a mouse! The R8 makes mixing a pleasure.

The R8's sampler function consists of eight voices triggered by eight built-in pads. Samples can also be assigned to each pad to create loops. It also has internal drum loops, which allow you to easily create pro-quality backing and basic tracks. Not only does the R8 offer over 500 drum patterns to work with, it also includes a 2GB SD card containing 500MB of drum loops recorded by Big Fish Audio.

Best of all, the R8 will operate on four standard AA alkaline batteries (not included) for over five hours of continuous use. In addition, the R8 comes with a 2GB SD card and supports up to 32GB SDHC cards for a maximum of 100 track hours. Using SD media for recording not only makes the R8 lighter and more portable, it also ensures increased reliability with no concern for hard drive failure. The TAC-2R serves as an ultra-stable MIDI interface too, allowing you to use your electronic keyboards and controllers as well as sound generating devices such as synthesizers and drum machines. The extreme speed and low latency of Thunderbolt ensure that your audio and MIDI tracks line up perfectly, every time.

More than twice as fast as USB 3.0 - not to mention twenty times faster than USB 2.0 and twelve times faster than Firewire 800 - Thunderbolt is the interconnection technology of the future. Co-developed by Apple and Intel Labs, it allows signal to be transferred at an incredibly fast 10 gigabits per second, which means virtually no latency. Thunderbolt interfaces such as the TAC-2R are also unaffected by computer jitter (slight variations in timing), so there's no need to connect an external master clock source.

In addition, Thunderbolt carries 10 watts/18 volts of power (as compared to the 2.5 watts/ 5 volts carried by USB 2.0) - enough to provide stable phantom power. This also allows the use of high-end components such as the Burr Brown PCM4202 analog-to-digital converter and AKM AK4396 digital-to-analog converter in the TAC-2R.

The TAC-2R performs 4-times upsampling during both analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion. In other words, when the sampling frequency is set to 44.1kHz or 48kHz, the TAC-2R processes the signal at high resolution 176.4kHz or 192kHz. For A/D conversion, this means less aliasing noise; for D/A conversion, this means increased clarity and fidelity.

The Thunderbolt port on the rear panel carries digital signal to and from your computer as well as carrying power to the TAC-2R - no external power required. Dual front panel combo XLR/TRS inputs allow you to connect a wide variety of microphones as well as line-level signals from electric keyboards and music playersieven passive instruments such as electric guitars and basses.

The VnIcursal VCA is an 8hp 6 Channel VCA Eurorack Module available as a Eurorack DIY Kit, PCB and Panel, or Built Module.

It the smallest, most compact Voltage Controlled Amplifier in the Eurorack market. It provides 6 OTA(LM13700)-based DC Coupled Linear VCAs for Audio or CV. The 6 VCAs are summed together so it can be used as a voltage controlled mixer. Each VCA is normalled to the sum so they can be removed from the mix and used on their own. The potentiometers control the amount of gain, and when a voltage is inserted into the CV in the potentiometers act as attenuators. With a control voltage of 5 volts the VCA will be at unity gain, anything above that can clip the input. LED brightness with or without CV in provides constant feedback of each channels amount of gain.

The VnIcursal is not a perfect scientifically spec'd VCA. Analog VCAs can only close so much, or be so silent. In certain situations based on power supplies and gain stages the VCA can experience some bleed or noise mainly at the sum out as all channels are passively summed then buffered.

Dual / LFO mode

Dual mode output two different wavetables on each output. LFO mode operates as the dual mode, except that the frequency range of output two is set in the subsonic range.

In any mode, voices can also be multiplied 6 times and detuned to play massive 6 voice unison. When using 4 voices it brings not less than a total of 24 voices out of your oscillator.

Notes: Zadar is a powerful, four-channel envelope, modulation, and transient generator, in a compact yet very complete, feature-rich package. It is capable of synthesising a vast palette of envelope shapes starting from hundreds of shapes stored in the memory. These starting shapes are not mere wavetables, but flexible vectors that can be stretched (from a fraction of a millisecond to half an hour), flipped, warped, distorted, delayed, shuffled, repeated, and amplitude modulated in real time. A set of freely assignable CV inputs allows for external control of most parameters. Each channel can work independently or combined with other channels within one of the chaining and looping algorithms.

Operating Zadar is quick and immediate, thanks to its accessible interface and crisp OLED display. The main screen displays all parameters together with the currently selected shape. Entering the simple 3-page menu is needed only for advanced settings.

Binary transfunctioner module - 8HP
Notes: The new component of the Leibniz Subsystem which operates on signals and voltages through manipulating binary 8-bit numbers. Jena connects to the Drezno module in a loopback. A binary transfunctioner maps input functions (eg. waveshapes) to some other functions through the classic table look-up mechanism. Input 8-bit values are treated as indices to an internal memory map. The value read from successive locations of the memory are passed to the output.

A simple VCO sawtooth or a triangle wave may be transformed to a plethora of waveshapes from any of the shape banks, with additional, deep through-zero phase modulation. Individual bit outputs may be used to produce interesting signals as well. There is a dedicated bank of Walsh functions i with these signals you can perform additive Walsh synthesis, not very common in Eurorack, but a quite powerful technique.

Transforming slow waveforms to sequences of binary signals is a great way to create rhythmic drum patterns. Jena comes with a special bank that has plenty of such patterns i just connect up to 8 drum voices to individual bit outputs on Jena. The rhythms can be selected or morphed on the fly through external CV input.

Obviously, being limited to 8 bits both in phase and signal value, Jena will not deliver crystal clear timbres you may know from many wavetable oscillators. Instead, it offers buzzy, jittery and gritty sounds as well as jerky and skippy rhytms, just like vintage computers, that were sometimes unreliable and unpredictable.

Katowice is a stereo variable-band isolator that allows the user to manipulate a selected range of frequencies. It is the first module in a series of upcoming Xaoc Devices products designed specifically for processing stereo signals.

Katowice splits the stereo input signal into three bands: low, middle, and high. While the knobs and CV inputs define the center frequency and bandwidth of the mid band, the low and high bands are automatically adjusted so that the sum of all three is a complete signal. All three bands are passed through high quality VCAs and their stereo outputs are available separately for further processing. A stereo mixdown signal is also available.

Katowice may be used as a crossover network, a parametric EQ, DJ-style kill filter, or other band-selective applications, including multiband compression and stereo enhancement.

Another cracker from Xaoc, the Timiszoara is a take on digital multi-effects with stereo in and out, an intuitive interface and CV control of effect parameters. Big power with 176 factory programs.

Timiszoara is a stereo, Eurorack compatible, voltage-controlled multi-effect signal processor based on the popular Spin Semiconductor FV-1 DSP chip. It features a full stereo signal path with two adjustable audio inputs, two outputs, and a stereo voltage-controlled wet/dry mixer. In addition, there is a microSD memory card slot on the front panel that allows for loading factory and custom effects without any restrictions or copyright protection, which means you can use many effects available on the Internet and even create your own.

Effect programs are organized in banks of 8 and can be selected using a rotary encoder, as well as CV and trigger signals. Timiszoara features a crisp OLED screen that displays the program parameters and its name. It also facilitates navigating the list of banks. Up to three parameters per effect can be controlled from the front panel with illuminated slider potentiometers and dedicated CV inputs.

Xaoc Devices have prepared quite a few banks of algorithms (176 in total) that cover most effects needs: delays, reverbs, filters, modulation effects (such as choruses and flangers), pitch shifters, and, of course, shimmers (no multi-effects unit would be complete without its share of those). Drezno II is an improved version of the original Drezno module. It is an essential member of the 8-bit Xaoc Devices Leibniz Binary Subsystem. The Leibniz subsystem is a family of modules that operate on 8 binary (two-state, on/off) signals. These signals are arranged as 8 bits of digital data and may represent analogue signals and voltages, or they may be whatever you want them to be (clocks, gates, rhythms, etc.).

Drezno features an ADC (analogue-to-digital-converter) and DAC (digital-to-analogue-converter), allowing it to act as an analog front-end of the system. In other words, Drezno allows one to convert analogue signals and CVs into digital numbers, as well as to obtain analogue signals back from some other digital numbers (or 8 binary signals). Between these two conversions there is a whole universe of digital shenanigans waiting to happen resulting in all kinds of signal transformations and modulations.

Both (ADC and DAC) sections of Drezno can work independently, or they can be linked. Input and output range of analogue signals may be adjusted using Gain and Offset sliders. Individual bit outputs (for the ADC) and inputs (DAC) allow for extensive cross-patching and the creation of complex waveforms and rhythms. A very fast clock (up to 2MHz) at which the conversions are performed may be replaced with any external clock (for each section separately).

Compared to its predecessor, Drezno II uses new converters of much higher resolution which results in much lower noise floor and higher accuracy. The lower bits are much more stable than before. It is easy now to use Drezno for quantizing pitch voltages with accurate results with 128 or 256 semitone steps. Potentiometer ranges are factory calibrated for precise chromatic scale. A new switch on the front panel allows the user to select the calibrated range of 10Vpp or 20Vpp, so that the lowest bit or the second bit correspond to 1 semitone.

Rostock is a component of the Leibniz Binary Subsystem. It is a data pipeline, a FIFO (first in - first out) shift register, or a very short digital delay. The module operates similarly to a BBD delay or an ASR (analogue shift register), except that it is digital. It consists of a chain of memory cells that pass bits from one to another at each clock cycle. The delay length is variable from 1 to 64 stages (with optional looping and scrambling). It works by processing data in the Leibniz bus and must be connected to other Leibniz modules using data ribbon cables at the back. Rostock may process data sequences representing rhythms, control voltages, audio-rate signals, and even video signals because the bits can change at extreme rates (up to 2MHz). In addition, its memory may be digitally looped. Delaying and looping is a fundamental building block for sequence automation, pattern and chaos generation, and various cybernetic modular patches. Thus, Rostock is a multi-purpose open-ended device that invites creative thinking.
