Review: If you're passionate about the early days of Blondie, you've probably been waiting for this release for some time. Originally announced in 2018 and finally available, this lavish box set deals in the breakthrough period for one of the all time greats in US punk and new wave, spanning six studio albums and a whole host of bonus material spread across 10 12"s, a 10" and a 7". From outtakes and B-sides to rare demo versions, this is a chance to get truly inside those seminal days for the band, and not only that but you also get to indulge in a 144-page hardcover book of interviews with the band and their collaborators and a separate volume which pores over the discography in intricate detail. Fan editions don't come any bigger than this.

Review: There are various eye watering stats about the many, many million copies of this album that have been pressed and sold. For each one sold there is almost as many different versions of it, too, if you look on Discogs. But all the hype and huff aside, there is a reason it is one of jazz's most famous records. The sultry modal moods, the masterfully melancholic trumpet sounds Davis conjures and the noir, late night vibe are all perfectly realised and universally understood. Without it, music at large, let alone jazz, would sound very different.

Review: On their second album Desperado, the Eagles went deep into the idea of the American Wild West. With their country twang, Glenn Frey and Don Henley's songs were already cowboy-friendly, but this album took the concept further. Released in 1973, it captures everything you love about the Eagles from shit-kickin' rock n' roll like 'Out of Control' facing off with sentimental classic 'Tequila Sunrise'. After all this time it's the title track which remains one of the band's most beloved songs - everything a lonesome man on the prairie needs to hear after a hard day and a hoedown.

Review: Renowned post-punk iconoclasts Gang of Four might only have guitarist Andy Gill remaining from the original line-up that made some of their best records, such as 1979's 'Entertainment', but the group endures to this day, even when it comes to new music. This limited release though is all about collecting the band's best moments from their early years. Across the five records are albums Entertainment! and Solid Gold (which have both been remastered from original tapes), plus a singles album, and double LP vision of Live at American Indian Center 1980, which has never been put out before.

Review: Muslimgauze is given the Vinyl On Demand treatment! Bryn Jones work as Muslimgauze has been
retrospectively compared to Dominick Fernow's Vatican Shadow for his occasional forays into rougher texture as well as the politically charged subtext, but the music is a lot more wide-ranging, moving from an early industrial influence into something much more psychedelic, making his music feel more relevant today than ever. Chasing The Shadow of Bryn Jones 1983-1988 may only make a dent in Jones' career, and the price tag will put off all but the most affluent of interested Muslimgauze completists, but the ten LPs highlight how crucial an influence his mid 80s output remains on modern music. Includes 208-page book, A1 poster, and 15-track CD compiled By Charles Powne of Soleilmoon.

Review: The 40th anniversary reissue of Rush's Moving Pictures is an ultimate collector's edition across five 12"s, a triple CD pack and a Blu-Ray DVD. It landed in April 1981 and was recorded in Quebec's Le Studio. As per previous music it found the band serving up plenty of pop leaning, radio friendly short but snappy tunes in collaboration with longtime producer Terry Brown who was back at the buttons for what was the eight long player for this seminal rock outfit. Standout singles 'Tom Sawyer', 'Limelight' and 'Vital Signs' all still sound as good now as ever, especially on this deluxe reissue.

Review: The Academy Award winning film Almost Famous by Cameron Crowe is now 20 years old and so gets a deserving deluxe reissue. The film came with a soundtrack that won its own Grammy and all 47 songs that featured and now pressed up across six slabs of vinyl. The super limited release also comes with a book with writings by Cameron Crowe, Nancy Wilson, along with cast and crew members, and a poster. The music is packed with emotion and even some unreleased songs from Led Zeppelin songs, Fleetwood Mac, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Neil Young and many more. A real collector's edition and top class bit of soundtrack history.

Review: Visionaire SOUND consists of five 12-inch picture discs, containing approximately 100 minutes of sound content featuring audio experiments, unreleased songs, samples, and spoken word pieces. The 5 records are packaged inside
a domed case that also houses a custom-made MINI Clubman "Vinyl Killer" Record Player: a battery-operated toy car containing speakers and a needle. As the little car drives along the record's groove, it plays each track, acting as a fully portable record player and sound system. The issue also includes 2 CDs with all the sound content, and a booklet of credits and instructions. Picture discs designed by Peter Saville, Cindy Sherman, Mario Sorrenti, Ivez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Raymond Pettibon and Ryan McGinley.
