Notes: The Multiple is a simple but important module that allows for sending a signal to multiple destinations. Within the Make Noise system the Multiple may also be used for combining clock, gate and pulse signals together to create interesting timing sources (in other words, it acts as a Gate combiner aka logic OR circuit).

It has 9 inter-connected sockets that may be split into different group combinations depending upon how it is patched. The jacks circled in white will make or break the interconnects between the 3 groups of three, thus allowing for three 3-way, one 5-way/ one 3-way or one 7-way multiple.

The Multiple is passive, because the Make Noise system does not require Buffered Multiples since all critical control signals are already buffered in such a way as to provide a large fan-out capability.

Notes: Trim is a 2 channel passive attenuator. It features two individual channels of attenuation.

Notes: 2HP narrow version of the A-180 multiples module. It is a passive signal splitter suitable for audio or CVs. Two sets of four jacks are interconnected, by placing a solder bridge you can connect all eight jacks.

Notes: The Synthrotek Passive Mult is the module that keeps on giving! Use this as either a 2x 1-to-3 passive multiplier or one 1-to-6 passive multiplier. Input one cascades to all 6 output jacks, or can be interrupted by plugging a cable into input two.

What is a passive mult? It is an ideal way of multiplying non-precise voltages in your Eurorack system. (Buffered multiples like the MST '07 Buff Mult are needed to maintain exact outputs of input voltages). Multiply any control voltage or audio sources across your system with ease in a very small and well priced package.

Available as an assembled unit, kit or PCB/panel combo. With such a small part count, this is a great module for first-time DIYers!

Natural dynamics with the magic of vactrols.

In general, low pass gates (LPGs) control the amplitude and timbre of a signal by opening and closing a low pass filter. When the gate is closed, no frequencies are allowed to pass through (and no output is heard). As the gate begins to open, the lowest frequencies pass through to the output. As the gate opens further, the output grows louder and its high frequency content increases.

Traditional Low Pass Gates use vactrols to control the opening and closing of the filter. Encased within a vactrol is both a light source and a light detector. Applying a control voltage to the vactrol lights its internal LED i the brightness of which is measured by its detector. What makes vactrols particularly unique (and well-suited to musical applications) is their non-linear response to voltage - in particular, the way in which the internal LED slowly dims (rather than shutting off instantly) when the control voltage is removed. This sonic coupling of timbre and volume, along with the circuit's natural decay, makes the low pass gate particularly adept at producing tones associated with struck objects, like hand drums or marimbas. Indeed, low pass gates are the main ingredient of the so-called Buchla Bongo sound.

The Intellijel Passive Low Pass Gate 1U is a simple, vactrol based, 1-pole, passive low pass gate, which is controlled by an external CV input. Without positive control voltage, the gate is completely closed and none of the LPG's input signal is passed through to the output. Increasing amounts of positive CV open the gate i making the output signal both louder and brighter. At +5V, the gate is fully open and the input signal is passed through to the output.
This makes LPGs sound very different (and more acoustic) than the traditional complement of envelopes, VCFs and VCAs that are employed in most subtractive synthesizers. Exciting the vactrol (via the CV input) with a trigger, noise blast, or short envelope will result in a very natural sounding filtered envelope that's reminiscent of the sonic characterics of struck objects, which are allowed to decay naturally.

In addition, because this is a passive circuit (no power is applied to it), its sonic characteristics are somewhat dependent upon the audio signal you feed into it, making it a very natural and organic way to shape a signal's volume and tone.

Pairs very well with the intellijel Shifty module to derive polyphony out of a only a few HP of modules.

On the back of the pcb is a pair of solder points marked as "link". You can connect these (with a solder blob or small jumper wire) to turn the mult into a single 8 channel Mult instead of 2 x 4 channel.

Notes: Simple bus board with 15 headers and LED indicators to check your +12 and -12 rails are working.

No voltage is exposed on the underside, so these boards can be fixed to any case, metal included.

Two bus boards can be wired together easily using the solder tabs on the right hand side of the board.

Notes: V Haus features 256 Deep House chords formed, structured and shaped from a variety of classic and modern day synths by Voltage Disciples chief sound designer Richard Somerville. The chord structures have been especially chosen to provide the configurations often used in Deep House and provide a starting point or stepping off point for complex chords in the modular environment. Some samples have subtle delays and reverbs which add characteristics often found in Deep House whilst others remain dry to allow the user further experimentation with modular delay's, reverbs and FX etc. With ONE's tape-like pitch control these chords turn into beautiful pads and bass material inside the modular.

Notes: DOTS features 256 short/dots one shot sounds created specifically for ONE to further extend ZV_K's live Tiptop drum setup. These sounds were selected for their percussive transient response but are also great as monophonic sound sources to use alongside analog synth when sequenced. DOTS are samples of the signature sounds of Buchla, Cwejman, Mutable Instruments, Jomox, Mungo, Industrial Music Electronics (aka The Harvestman), HexInverter, Make Noise, Monomachine, Vermona, Audio Damage. Bastl, Epoch, Mungo, Delptronics as well as some human voice artefacts and even a prepared piano. Each sound was carefully selected from hours of recordings, edited but not altered to retain the original sound's qualities and dynamics and was extensively tested using the module to make sure all the sounds sound good at any setting. DOTS are very easy to fit into a mix, run through effects and are very well suited to be used and abused by a modular system.

Notes: This module allows you to connect balanced line level audio (+4 dBu) into your Eurorack modular system. It is a compact and easy way to patch in a rack mount/desktop FX units, external line-level instruments like synths and drum machines, outputs from your DAW, or many other line level sources.

Notes: The Dual Stereo Volume is a passive dual stereo attenuator controller module which uses high quality Alps Stereo potentiometers. The most obvious use would be as an audio output module or as a complement to stereo output transformers that do not have a volume control.

Notes: Tiptop Audio and award winning sound designer/electronic music artist Joseph Fraioli AKA Datach'i come together in the form of the new Datach'i One card. The card, to be used exclusively in the Tiptop ONE Sample Player, contains 187 unique sounds ranging from organic recorded elements and electronic percussion to dramatic gestures, ambiences and melodic sequences. Created with field recordings, the Eurorack modular synthesizer, Symbolic Sound Kyma system and boutique electro acoustic instruments, all sounds were recorded at 24 bit/96k quality for maximum resolution in pitch control while maintaining latencies of as low as 0.25 ms.

Notes: Mult is a 2 input, 6 output signal splitter. Channel 1 is normalled to channel 2 when no cable is present, allowing the user to split an input signal six ways, or two input signals with three outputs each.

Notes: BENT features 256 sounds harvested from a variety of customized circuit bent instruments. We recorded an exhaustive collection of bent vintage educational toys and toy keyboards that were all hand-built by sound designer Ivo Ivanov over the course of five years. The lo-fi character of this sample pack is perfectly at home in the modular synth domain and compliments its already vastly diverse sonic landscape by injecting it with a highly nuanced and rare set of sounds that can be integrated as percussive effects along with existing modules.

Notes: Module A-180-4 is a fourfold CV buffer. Buffers are required if the control voltage coming from a CV source shows a voltage drop in case of changing loads or due to other reasons a buffering is required.

For the lower three units the input is normalled to the output of the above unit. That way the module can work as 1-in-4 buffered multiple provided that no signals are applied to the inputs of the three lower units.

Typical applications:

- Buffering the outputs of voltage controlled switches (e.g. A-150-1, A-150-8, A-151, A-152). Comment: in case of bidirectional switches it's not possible to integrate the buffers into the switching module because the direction is not known (i.e. which terminal of the switch is working as input and which as output). All electronic switches suffer from a small residual restistance that may cause a small voltage drop without buffering. This may become a problem especially when VCOs are controlled by the switched voltages.
- Buffering of CV interfaces, quantizers, slew limiter, S&H/T&H, sequencer etc. when VCOs are controlled by the CV (provided that the module in question does not feature a buffered output)
- Buffered multiple (similar to A-180-3)

Notes: Module A-138u is a simple, low-cost mixer with two units. Each unit is equipped with three inputs and one output. The upper unit has for each input a trimming potentiometer available that works as attenuator and allows to adjust the amplification in the range 0...+1. In the lower unit only the third input is equipped with such an attenuator. The factory setting is amplification = 1 for all inputs.

The output of the upper unit is normalled to the first input of the lower unit. That way the module can be used also as a mixer with five inputs: for this the inputs 1, 2 and 3 of the upper unit and the inputs 2 and 3 of the lower unit are used. The sum output for all five signals is then the output of the lower unit. As soon as a plug is inserted into input 1 of the lower unit the module becomes a dual 3-in-1 mixer again.

Inputs and Outputs are DC-coupled, i.e. audio and control signals can be mixed.

Application examples:

Mixer for audio signals, e.g. three VCOs preceding a VCF, when the amplifications are adjusted slightly different no signal extinction occurs during the beat of the VCOs

Mixer for control voltages (e.g. LFOs, envelope generators, random voltages)

Notes: Unique, vintage reverb sound.

The SPRINGREVERB module brings the unique sound of this quite old (introduced in the 60's) technique for creating reverbs to the AE modular.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is only the module without spring tank and connection cable; with this module alone, you get no reverb. This is for users who want to use their own spring tanks.

Notes: This module is a classic state variable filter.

It offers the control knobs cut-off frequency, resonance and CV attenuator; two signal inputs for different signal levels control the "drive" of the module. Compared to the wasp filter, this module has a significant self-resonance, and also a very quick response to cut-off frequency changes.

Three different outputs provide lowpass, bandpass and high-pass output.

Notes: This filter module is a variant of the Wasp filter, a quite strange circuit used first in the EDP Wasp synth end of the seventies, which abuses digital chips in an analogue way leading to the characteristic sound of this filter type. In this module, vactrols are used for controlling the filter frequency.

Notes: A stereo headphone amplifier for AE modular.

It has separate left/right inputs; via a switch it can be set to mono operation (only left input is used). One common volume control for both outputs.

Two headphones can be attached via 3.5mm stereo minijack sockets.

Notes: This module is a standard mono delay with the usual parameters:

- Delay time
- Feedback
- Dry/wet mix

It sounds not as clean and polished as a usual digital delay but has quite a character on its own. High feedback settings allow endless and distorting loops.

(For the techies: It is based on the well-known PT2399 chip.)

Notes: 2ATT/CV contains two units of a simple level attenuator for any kind of signal. You can also switch to voltage mode and get manually controllable CV on the outputs.

Notes: The purpose of the SAMPLE&HOLD module is to "freeze" the input voltage with a trigger input.

Typically used for random CV patterns if a noise signal is fed to the input and triggered e.g. by an LFO.

Notes: 2VCA contains two separate VCA (voltage controlled amplifiers); the classic module to shape the volume of a sound that is fed to IN by a control voltage, e.g. from an ENV to the CV input.

A switch determines the operation mode (DC/CV or audio), choosing the right position can reduce/avoid pop's with short attack envelopes.

An additional knob for each VCA attenuates the level, if necessary.

Notes: The BEAT DIVIDER takes a clock signal (the BUS CLK which presents the MIDI clock from the MASTER module) and divides it to musical clock dividers, selectable from 1/2... 1/32.

Additionally, a second output provides the dotted or triplet clock of the selected divider value.

Notes: Analogue & Digital Noise Module.

- The A output generates analogue noise (technically, a fluctuating voltage between about 1...4V)
- The D output generates digital noise, which is a random changing 0V / 5V

The RATE knob controls the colour of the noise, which goes from almost white noise on A output and knob fully clockwise to a rather harsh and digital sound on D output and RATE counter-clockwise.

Notes: This module consists of an audio mixer with 4 inputs and their level knobs, plus an additional 4 separate inputs that are mixed at full level (especially for mixing CV signals), and a separate output.

Notes: The LOGIC module combines two inputs by different logical rules (AND, NAND, XOR). This can be used either for operations on trigger/gate signals (let gate signals pass depending on other signals, invert them depending on the other input etc), or for audio signals, where you get ringmodulator-like sounds when feeding two different oscillator frequencies.

Notes: The NYLE FILTER is an adaption of the Steiner Filter for the AE modular palette. It contains the classic filter curves lowpass/highpass/bandpass with adjustable filter frequency and resonance. The unique feature of this filter type is, that there are separate inputs for lowpass/highpass/bandpass (not separate outputs as with other filters). This allows quite unusual sounds, if different signals are fed into the different inputs.

Each input has its own attenuator; for frequency CV control there are two inputs with individual attenuators. Additionally, the resonance can also be CV controlled!

The sound goes from quite soft filtering with low resonance setting to a quite intense resonance peak to full self-resonance.

Notes: The LOPAG is the lowpass gate module for AE. It is based on a Vactrol (like all good lowpass gates) and has two inputs: IN (audio signal) and TRIG. A pulse on the TRIG input opens the signal path shortly and via the characteristics of the Vactrol the audio signal is filtered and attenuated in a plucked, percussive way. Additional GATE and CV inputs allow more control over the way the module works.

Notes: This module is based on a design used also by Ken Stone for his CGS system; the original circuit dates back to a publication from 1973.

Basically, the WAVEFOLDER clips and folds the incoming waveform; usually, waveforms with little overtones (like triangle or sinewaves) are used as input. In general, by the clipping and folding, the signal enriches the input signal with more overtones.

Notes: 4I/O offers four minijack sockets that are connected to the AE sockets for connecting external audio sources, CV's and Eurorack modules. Sockets 1 and 3 are stereo sockets; if a stereo cable is inserted here the signal is available on sockets 1/2 and 3/4. With mono cables the four sockets can be used independently.

All sockets have an overvoltage protection (as AE modular is limited to 5V) and can be switched between audio and DC/CV signals.

Notes: 4ATTMIX offers four input channels which can be level controlled / attenuated by the corresponding knobs. The attenuated signals are sent to four outputs.

Additionally, each channel can be sent to an internal mixer by the switches beside the knobs. The mix signal is then sent to the mix output.

An additional switch selects the general operation mode for the mixer, for DC/CV signals or for audio signals.

Notes: Connect two AE cases with RACKLINK!

The RACKLINK is a module for connecting two AE cases; the kit contains of 2 identical modules and a connector cable (length 50 cm). The modules are placed in both cases and are connected by the cable.

By this, you get the following:

The second case is powered by the first one

All bus lines (CV, GATE, CONTROL, MIDI clock/start/stop) are connected to the second case

Additionally, there are 8 connections that can be freely used; so it is not necessary to have connections between two cases. E.g. the second rack can run a patch for a drone sound, the output is then sent via Racklink line 1 to the first rack and here patched to a mixer, via line 2 the second rack can receive a modulation signal from the first one. The lines are bi-directional!

Notes: This module is best if you need an oscillator for primary musical / melodic use.? It offers:

Notes: 3VCSWITCH contains three electronic toggle switches that can be operated either manual (latched or momentary by two buttons) or by an external gate signal. The connection by the switch is bidirectional and can be used for any kind of signal within AE modular, e.g. for dynamic signal routing/selection of modulation sources.

Notes: 2SIGNALAMP contains two amplifier stages for audio signals; the amplification can be adjusted up to 15:1.

A clip LED indicates that the amplified level exceeds the usual range of AE modular and is short before clipping.

Main purpose of this module is to boost external audio signals for further processing within AE modular, or also the triangle output of the VCO which has by design a lower signal amplitude.

Notes: Each of the three USB-A sockets on the USBPOWER module can be used to charge your mobile phone, connect a USB lamp or supply power to any other USB device. Furthermore, the output socket provides +5V and ground to supply e.g. DIY circuits on a breadboard.

Please note: This is only a power source via USB sockets; no USB data communication is possible here.
