Disco/Nu-Disco
In Case Of Emergency (7:07)
House In Downtown (6:33)
Review: Serbia's Disco Fruit crew continue to bring the heat with their razor sharp edits and productions mining the golden era of funk-fuelled part music. On this occasion Dr Packer and Loshmi have joined forces for two certified bangers that rank highly on the boogie scale. "In Case Of Emergency" is a tidy reworking of Gayle Adams' "Emergency" that keeps the groove heavy but stretches the jam out for extended dancefloor pleasure. On the flip, it's British funk outfit Delegation that get the Disco Fruit treatment, winding up with the stretched out delights of "House In Downtown," guaranteed to get any soiree worth its salt shaking down to the ground.

BG Baarregaard - "Luv's Treatin"
80's Child - "Cocktails For 2" (The Dead Rose Music Company remix)
Late Nite Tuff Guy - "Do U Wanna Get Down"
Richard Seaborne - "Do I Really Know U"
Review: Midnight Riot let rip with another silky disco session and all is well with the world; BG Baarregaard gets sugar-sweet with a mildly-pumped twist on "Luv's Treating" while Dead Rose Music Company get super-loopy 80s Child's "Cocktails For 2". Dig deeper for a consummate edit of Donna Summer with "Do U Wanna Get Down" and Richard Seabourne closes the show with a jazzy house number that's soft-focus soul and soaking wet in the bass department. Get to know.

Late Nite Tuff Guy - "Dancefloor Baby"
LTJ - "Nass Funk"
Disco Tech - "Don't Let Go"
Disco Tech - "Baltimore" (Tribute rework)
Review: A long term fixture in the realm of digital disco edits, Stockholm crew DiscoDat recently made the jump to pressing records with label boss Disco Tech inaugurating proceedings. This second release sees Disco Tech complemented by some high profile company from the disco edit hoi polloi in the shape of Late Nite Tuff Guy and LTJ Xperience. Australia's foremost exponent of the disco dice and slice is first up with "Dancefloor Baby" and if you don't know the source material for this one you need to sign up for some electro funk history lessons! LTJ Xperience follows with a beefed up take on "Funky Nassau", whilst Disco Tech holds court on the flip with two reworks, look out for the Tribute mix of Nina Simone's "Baltimore"!

Bite The Dust (LNTG rework)
Urgent (Luxxury rework)
Georgy Porgy (Ed Zone Land of Oz rework)
Across The Floor (Deadly Sins rework)
Review: Edit culture has gone to such great crate digging depths, sometimes it's nice to return to the bigger, most well-known cuts... As long as they're edited and reworked with creativity, there's still heaps of miles left in them. All of these four twists are fine examples, as we're treated to Queen, Foreigner, Toto and the BeeGees. Each one subtly tricked out, dubby and just on the right side of cosmic, it's a kindly reminder than sometimes the best edits are the ones you've known all your life. Solid, sweet and essential.

Dr Packer - "Instant Groove" (5:57)
Evil Smarty - "4 Love" (7:25)
Fingerman - "Boogie Change Up" (7:24)
P Sol - "Let It Go" (5:54)
Review: For their second 12", recently launched edits imprint Wall of Fame has assembled a crack team of internationally renowned edit fiends. Australian Dr Packer delivers a bustling house interpretation of Instant Funk's synth-laden Paradise Garage five "Just Because You're Mine", before Evil Smarty gives Tata Vega's brilliant disco classic "Get It Up For Love" a similarly house-friendly renovation. Flip for Fingerman's looser, party-starting "Boogie Change Up" - all dubbed-out horns, sparkling synths, sweet vocals and extended drum breaks - and "Let It Go", a curious but rather impressive R&B cut-job from Brooklun-based P-Sol. All four tracks sound like tried-and-tested killers for those who prefer their disco on the housier end of the spectrum.

Dr Packer - "Another Night" (6:12)
Situation - "Thru The Mirror" (7:47)
Review: Hot Digits head honcho Fingerman now launches Wax Digits, bringing his killer re-edits to the vinyl format and inaugurates the series in great fashion by recruiting some homeboys and Aussie legends alike, such as DJ HMC under his Late Nite Tuff Guy guise; he edits the Malcolm McLaren classic on "My Buffalo Girl" for modern dancefloors. Perth drum and bass legend Greg Packer it seems has turned his deft hand to disco re-edits of late and "Another Night" is a great one of The Peech Boys classic on West End Records. Five Valleys collective Situation do pretty sweet remix of a certain Diano Ross classic on "Thru The Mirror.

I Get Deeper (original LNTG mix) (6:46)
I Get Deeper (Cassian rework) (6:16)
Review: Australian techno royalty Carmelo Bianchetti has put out a lot of music under the Late Night Tuff Guy alias with his 2007 tweak of Roland Clark classic "I Get Deep" among his best work. Originally released through the short lived TBot's All Nite House Party label, the track is given a timely reissue through Bianchetti's own Tuff Cut label in newly remastered form. Clark's classic vocal would be arguably be a hit over anything with a 4/4 groove, but there is something satisfying about this grimy arrangement from LNTG. Complementing this is a fresh take on the track from Sydney's Cassian.

LNTG - "Wonderland"
80's Child - "Contragious"
TV - "Disco Scene"
Digital Human - "You're My Last Chance"
Review: Midnight Riot up the anticipation ante for their forthcoming album with this quirky quad of modern day disco floor-firers. Late Nite Tuff Guy amplifies the teasing nature of this EP as he stretches and extends "Boogie Wonderland" in a way that's almost cruel... Looping up the bassline and vocal snippets for what seems like an eternity, he finally unleashes the full hook. And does so with evangelistic effect! 80s Child follows with a synth-heavy re-edit of The Whispers' "Contagious" where the bass is so fat it should come with its own health warning. Further on TV's "Disco Scene" employs some classic Akai action, playing merry hell with a vocal sample of a loopy percussive groove. Finally Digital Human closes the curtains with the synth-boogie strutter "You're My Last Chance"

Cleptomaniacs - "All I Do" (feat Bryan Chambers - Dr Packer remix)
Review: ***B-STOCK: Creasing to corner of outer sleeve but otherwise in excellent condition***

UK disco sensation Glitterbox light the touch paper on another fizzy summer with four gossamer smooth edits of four seminal house classics. Gliding us through time to soulful house's golden era with a sassy, loose groove shine to each edit; Soulsearcher's 96 anthem "Can't Get Enough!" gets respectfully plumped, Shapeshifter's 2003 sing-along bomb "Lola's Theme" is stripped back to a stark funk groove while Johnny Corporate's 2000 hit "Sunday Shoutin'" gets flipped into slinky bassline wriggler. Finally one of the best covers Stevie Wonder has ever had gets a luxurious rub down as Cleptomaniacs' 2000 swoon-fest enjoys the full Packer treatment. Summer starts here.
