Review: American hard rock band Guns N Roses are one of the most iconic to ever do it. Their Greatest Hits album is jam packed with smash hit after smash hit. Released by Geffen Records in part because of the delay in the making of Chinese Democracy, it came in 2004 amidst some infamous legal challenges from Axl Rose and former band members who weren't too pleased with its tracklisting. It got no promotion as a result but still topped the UK Albums Chart and no wonder with 'Sweet Child O Mine', 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Paradise City' all featuring amongst plenty more.

Review: If you're not a Blink 182 fan the fact the American pop punk rockers put out a Greatest Hits album in 2005 might be quite surprising considering they only rose to international chart repute at the turn of the century. Delve into their story, though, and you realise by the time they put out this compilation - coinciding with their split and, in the label Geffen's words, "indefinite hiatus" - they'd actually already been going for more than a decade.

Nevertheless, it's impossible not to acknowledge that it was the landmark albums Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, respectively landing in 1999 and 2001, that saw them really break into the mainstream conscious. As such, excerpts from that era, for example 'All The Small Things' and 'What's My Age Again?' represent the biggest hitters here, however it's hard to ignore just how infectious every upbeat, angst-laden track is.

Review: Way before your Wileys, your Eminems and your Drakes there was Notorious BIG aka Christopher Wallace, the original hood rat turned rap god who would do things with words and wordplay that made the mind boggle. He remains one of the gratis to ever do it if you ask us, and all in a relatively short space of time before he was shot by no one quite knows who in an ongoing beef between two warring hip hop labels - Bad Boy and Death Row - on different coasts of the United States. This still seminal album collects Biggie's finest hits and every green classics, packed with iconic samples, mad bars and the juiciest of grooves.

Review: During the early 1980s, the music of New York producer Bobby Orlando ruled gay clubs, particularly in Europe. While he was responsible for putting together and producing a huge number of acts - The Flirts, The Bang Gang, Runaway, Barbi & The Kens etc. - it was with drag artist Divine that he enjoyed his greatest commercial success. His formula was simple: synthesizer-heavy, radio-friendly club tracks that borrowed heavily from Italo-disco, Hi-NRG, Patrick Cowley and Giorgio Moroder. It's interesting that the majority of the material on this Divine Greatest Hits still stands up to scrutiny today, particularly the deliciously camp "Shoot Your Shot", percussive "Jungle Jezebel" and Italo-goes-rap madness of "Psychedelic Shack".

Review: Sometimes the 'faceless' producers behind your favourite pop hits just need to come out of the woodwork. Forget your Max Martins, Malcolm McLarens, or Trevor Horns, though. Here comes Frank Farian, the brain behind Boney M and Milli Vanilli, with this vinyl reissue of the first album from his '90s solo project 'Greatest Hits', from which the hit single 'Be My Lover' emanated. Coming to limited double red vinyl, 90s vocal dance classics (in terms of style, think Sonique or Haddaway) like 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Fallin In Love' return to audiophile-quality wax, some 15 years after the original CD.

Review: It's time to celebrate the legacy of the best that ever did it. The Notorious BIG wasn't just a rapper, he was a story teller, a prolific poet and, through his words, persona, life and music he opened doors and opportunities for hip-hop as a whole. The release of "Greatest Hits" denotes the commemoration of one of the most historic body of works in hip-hop. The new compilation album also includes two brand new tracks from The Notorious BIG.

Review: Taking a closer look at the Floorfilla discography, one cannot help but think that this dance project is a hit maker second to none. Be it "Sister Golden Hair", "Kosmiklove", "Technoromance" or the "Anthems 1 - 6", Floorfilla have always been able to hit the charts high. A compilation of the greatest Floorfilla hits called for!

Review: Danny Wilde and Phil Solem formed The Rembrandts in Los Angeles in 1990, after meeting in the 80s pop/new wave band Great Buildings. While they'll always be known for the phenomenal smash 'I'll Be There For You' (Theme from Friends), they created a host of harmony-filled, literate, and guitar-driven songs including the soulful 'Just The Way It Is, Baby'. Those signature classics plus the favourites 'If Not For Misery', 'Save Me' and 'Johnny Have You Seen Her?' are among the 18 tracks featured here along with two defining Great Buildings cuts including the propulsive single 'Hold On To Something'.

Review: Formed in Forest Hills, NY, in 1974, this quartet of quintessential punk forefathers blitzkrieged out of NYC's legendary CBGB scene and into world fame with three loud, lean, hard, and fast albums before the Sex Pistols even took their first shot. Besides basically inventing punk rock, Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, and Tommy outlasted almost every one of their legions of followers, delivering their signature pop and garage-flavoured chainsaw sound for over 20 years, through a string of infamous albums and 2,263 concerts together. Spanning 1976-1995, this new collection features 20 classic tracks, including 'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker', 'Rockaway Beach', 'Rock 'N' Roll High School', 'I Wanna Be Sedated', 'Pet Seminary' and 'Blitzkrieg Bop'.

Review: American greats Earth, Wind & Fire were very much one of their era's finest and most commercially successful bands. They define the funk, soul and disco sound of the 70s onwards and by 1998 had a huge arsenal of tunes to draw on for this, their Greatest Hits album. It came just a year after their In The Name of Love record and is packed with gold such as 'September' from 1978, 'Got to Get You Into My Life' from the same year and 'Let's Groove' from 1981 amongst many more. This version comes on limited and numbered gatefold 180-gram audiophile yellow vinyl.
