Notes: In the age of digital recording people often reminisce about the golden days of analog tape and the warmth of those spinning tape reels. Many people have spent a lot of money trying to re-create those classic tape like qualities in pieces of hardware.

Dan Snazelle of SNAZZY FX missed something else about tape - the sound that would come out of the stereo on those days when the tape got stuck in the machine, dying a slow and melodic death. He also missed the magic of playing a favorite recording through an old cassette boom-box that had so much warble it was hard to tell what song he was listening to. So Dan decided to design a device that, when pushed to its limits, would sound like the tape was spinning out of control. But he also wanted to make sure the box could take that sound and make it more musical, and, at times, more subtle too.

You might be thinking, what am I going to do with a busted tape machine? Well, that's where things really get interesting - because this box can be used in many, many ways. Depending how hard you hit the Threshold and Warp controls, you can dial the malfunction back to where it creates subtle vibrato, or with shorter delays you can achieve pleasing chorus or pseudo flange-like effects. Turn the Warp up a bit more and you can get far-out pitch shifting, rubber band delays, and plastic portamentos. Turn the Warp up to max and what you'll hear is just plain insanity.

Calling a pedal legendary or a cult classic is often stretching the truth, but when it comes to the Boss HM-2 MIJ it's absolutely on the money. From its beyond brutal and grinding distortion tones, bands like Dismember and Entombed birthed Swedish chainsaw metal. While WURM 2 absolutely nails that death-metal sound, its thick walls of gain and sustain is not all about that genre the pedal is also adept for so many other styles, from Shoegaze to Prog Rock. To give you an idea, famous players like David Gilmour, Prince, Johnny Marr, Belinda Butcher, Lee Ranaldo, Daron Malakian and more have all made their mark with this style of distortion.

EQ Section
Dead simple to operate, this tonally deep submergence vehicle offers three sub-octave settings to choose from.
These allow you to turn your guitar into a filthy bass guitar with ground shaking lows, alternatively adding extra depth to basses and mono synths alike. The toggle switch lets you select between either the first octave (-I), the second (-II) or mix both together (-I/-II) which gives you a thunderously massive wall of sound, it even changes colour depending on the mode.

EQ Style
For the WURM pedal, we developed our own EQ stack and added an internal EQ STYLE switch to help you carve out additional tonal variations. In WURM 2, this is now on the front of the pedal to make it easier to access and for even more tonal options on-the-fly. Selecting HM-II mode will get you that classic 'chainsaw' High-Mids character.
However, in KMA mode the EQ is a little more tonally balanced, less peaky and a bit wider in response. If balanced and less peaky sounds too boring for you, select BOTH to fatten and double up the tone stacking, letting you ramp up the LOWS and the H-MIDS and rip that Swedish forest completely to shreds!
With all of this extra tone shaping, the pedal can sometimes begin to feedback at extreme settings. So, if this proves too much and to help tame that high-frequency content, we added a new internal control to smoothen things out. By flipping the dip-switch to activate the input filter, this will help to tame the high frequencies when absolutely everything is maxed out.

Notes: Based on the classic tones of bearded Texas legend Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), El Hombre is the ideal overdrive for those feeling the blues or ready to rock all night. Capturing the nuances and touch sensitivity of an amplifier, El Hombre can go from mild to wild with the turn of the gain knob showing its versatility with each guitar plugged into it. From added harmonics to chewy sag El Hombre has it all. The El Hombre is simple in format but complex in its abilities. The tone section is highly effective allowing you to alter the drive style simply by adjusting the "Bite" control. When you bring the bite control up (Clockwise) it becomes more aggressive, turn it down (counterclockwise) making it smoother and more reminiscent of Dumble tones.

Notes: 221.x2 is a clean and precise utility module that is equally at home mixing Control Voltage as it is audio. At its simplest, it is two independent 2-to-1 mixers that offer per-channel attenuation and inversion, as well as +6dB of gain available at the summed outputs. With a tap of the "All Mix" button, these separate mixes can be combined into a 4-to-1 mix at the "All Mix" output - meanwhile, the first 1+2 mix is still available at its respective summed output. A rear expansion input and output allows for combining multiple modules into larger systems.

In addition, each channel also offers a Direct Output that can be taken pre or post attenuation/inversion.

A 6-volt offset is normalled into the input jacks of channels 2 and 4. This voltage is available at the channel's Direct Output, as well as added to the mixed outputs. Useful as an offset for mixing with another CV signal, or simply as a voltage source.

Each summed output group has two blue LEDs for displaying the shape of the summed CV, and can also serve as signal present indicators for audio. Peak LEDs trigger at ~9.6V, allowing for a bit of headroom before things get out of hand.

The ACL Fader CV Source Module comprises 4 individual faders where each can generate a CV either going between 0 and +5V or 0 and +10V unipolar or -5V and +5V or -10V and +10V bipolar, selectable using 2 jumpers on the backside of the module.

Furthermore there are mute-switches for each channel accompanied with an dual color LED (green/red) which shows the channels mute status. When mute is activated or deactivated, short fade ramps will be generated as well as the fader itself is slightly slew-limited internally in order to generate a smooth CV.

This module is very useful to control VCA's or VC mixers like our VC Amp mix module.

Notes: The SC (Stereo Channel) is a single-channel stereo module for the CGM Eurorack mixer, fully compatible with every other product of this family.

It features a mono/stereo local output which makes it ideal for multitrack recording and advanced parallel processing.

Thanks to its advanced I/O configuration, it can work as stereo-to-stereo, mono-to-mono, mono-to-stereo, and stereo-to-mono.

The gain control and the two mono FX sends can work in pre or post-fader mode, and the pan pot can also work as a dual mono crossfader, making it suitable for blending two mono sources into a single mono sum.

Notes: Variable Pole analogue filter based on Asteroid Op VCF Tech

What does this do?

This is an analogue filter that uses two modern equivalent ssm2164 IC's v2164 from cool audio to do it's magic. This particular filter however allows the user to vary the phase of each pole or filter cell. There are four filter cells total. This is similar to the Blue lantern Asteroid Operator Station VCF. The Asteroid Operator Station VCF has 8 Static filter out puts. Those 8 flavors were found by exploring the circuit found on the millipede vcf and internally installing the resistor ratio for that flavor.

On the millipede vcf you are allowed to find more exotic flavors yourself. Operation is easy. You first have all the poles counter clockwise and the three switches set to mute. This will have the filter as a dark Low pass filter. Then you turn on a pole using the switch and turn the know to hear the change. Pole 3 by default is always on, otherwise there would have been no sound if all poles were muted. Having all the poles set clockwise and active easily gets you into brutal sounding tones in a good way.

There is an on board diode limiter circuit to help tame really harsh tones. This is activated by switch.

The audio input has some gain, so you don't always have it fully clockwise. There is also a capacitor selector switch just like my other filters. This modifies the rez peak.

Review: Amused To Death is the third studio album from Roger Waters outside of his work in Pink Floyd. As one of the fundamental creative forces in the prog behemoth, of course it's hard to separate his solo work from that most famous of bands, but this is indeed its own beast. At times it's an experimental space in which Waters uses space and minimalism to great effect, creating a foreboding sound peppered with speech samples and field recordings. There are of course plenty of more straightforward tracks too, like lead single 'What God Wants, Part 1'. This lavish issue of the 1992 album spreads the music out across four discs and comes in a box set format, a must-have for devoted Floyd and Waters collectors.

Notes: Welcome to a new era of the most iconic fuzz/distortion sound the world has ever known. You know, that epically huge and super saturated tone (some might call it big and muffy) that has defined the signature sound of so many artists and countless records in the past few decades. It's arguably one of the pedals with the biggest impact on the entire industry, which has seen it modified over and over and over again. So much that you think it's all been done, right? Well, KMA Machines have a surprise for you right here!

Holding three different Gain Modes, a pre- or post-EQ Clean Blend, active Bass and Treble controls, a foot-switchable and expression-controllable parametric Mid-EQ as well as a switchable top-boost for even more raspy, grinding bite, CHIEF DISRUPTOR is the most flexible, beautifully balanced and LOUDEST muff-style pedal you'll ever hear!

Over the years, different muff drives had different levels of gain, so KMA Machines derived three major distinctive gain structures all based on what was thought to be the best versions. The Vintage Mode (VTG) will give you every shade of discrete overdrive, while the Tight Mode will give a more focused and modern tone with less bass and super crisp harmonics. Heavy Mode is the essence of what we all love about muffs. Heavy, sustaining and crazy thick fuzzy distortion, with bone-shaking lows and chewy mids. Just crank the Disruption (Gain) Control and you'll see this in action.

Tonal shaping was one of the true weak points of classic muff pedals, and this has been remedied with the Chief Distruptor. KMA Machines opened the gates to more modern tonal flexibility through the active Bass and Treble controls, which let you boost or cut highs and lows with up to 15 dB, while the parametric Mid-EQ with adjustable centre-frequency and level boost/cut allows you to fine tune the mids with extreme precision, for everything from classic scooped fuzz tones, modern mid-focused dirt tones and all the way to cocked-wah saturation.

You can take complete hands-free control of the Mid-EQ frequency via an expression-pedal. This lets you make instant tone changes on the fly, as well as unleash fast and quacky wah-like sounds or slow and enveloping phaser-like sweeps. If you feel like the filter needs to be more resonant for screaming synth-like sweeps or needs to be subtler, then you can adjust the Q of the Mid-EQ via an internal trimpot. The mids can also be turned on and off via the relay-based soft-switch, allowing you to kick in the mids for soaring solos, cutting chords or when you want to get filter freaky. Having super saturated mids and lows can sometimes result in a perceived loss of highs. To fix this, just engage the Top-Boost to give your high-mids a big push for more crunchy harmonics and bite to cut through any band mix. The Top Boost has been tweaked, but if you feel like it's either too loud or not loud enough, you can also adjust the Top Boost Level via an internal trimpot.

The gain control has been carefully balanced to achieve total control of even the slightest harmonic nuances. So, whether you're looking for low gain drive, crunchy medium gain rhythm tones, singing or saturated lead sounds or skull-crushing doom tones, the Disruption control can and will cover all of them! A lot of gain rules! But gain also means compression, and the more you compress your sound, the more your instrument will lose definition. To preserve your precious core tone the CHIEF DISRUPTOR sports a clean blend control and a toggle switch to define the insert position. Insert your dry signal before the EQ section for a more cohesive sound or place it post-EQ to keep your dry signal completely unaffected.

Last but not least, KMA Machines have implemented stacked headroom topology to keep the EQs from getting saggy when cranked, all which results in the tightest, most punchy and LOUDEST muff-style tone on the market. Notes: The Pitch Forkr+ features two independent pitch shifting engines with full control over each. Both will transpose your pitch up or down over a +/- three octave range and detune +/-99 cents. With rock solid tracking, an organic, musical tone and extensive control, it's your ultimate harmonizer.

Notes: The Fold Processor is a voltage-controlled wave multiplier and sub-octave generator. The circuit is based on a classic diode design that adds odd harmonics by folding the incoming signal, followed by subdivided square waves.

The wave folder creates new waveforms from standard sine, triangle, sawtooth, and square waves and includes a CV input with an attenuator, making it very easy to create beautifully animated folding sounds. Adjustable voltage-controlled Inject alters the bias point creating an even wider palette of sounds.

The subdivide generator squares the fold output generating 4 more sounds spaced one octave apart, each with its own gain knob and mixed to the Subdivide output jack. Mixing the four can create anything from discordant square wave swarms to sweet harmonic oscillator stacks, from a stable square version of the folded wave to freaky PLL-like glitched slides.

Overall results can sound evil at times and sweet at others, a true multi-faced devil.

Moving from mono to stereo sound: a logical progression for any synthesist looking to expand their sonic palette. Making use of two audio channels, rather than just one, quite literally adds another dimension to the capabilities of a synthesiser.

Unfortunately, controlling stereo signals can be a challenge within a modular system. This realisation led to the development of Enhance 2: a convenient yet high-fidelity tool for stereo enhancement. It can be used to adjust balance, width and spectral content, while also opening up a world of mid/side processing; all under voltage control and in just 8 HP.

The primary stereo parameters are balance (moving the sound left or right) and width (making it narrower or wider). The balance circuit uses a true constant-power gain law, while the width stage allows for seamless transitions from pure mono to extra-wide stereo.

In addition, tone control is provided by a pair of unique, wide-ranging mid/side voltage controlled tilt filters with selectable corner frequency. These make 'cleaning up' a muddy-sounding mix straightforward, but also provide unique binaural effects when modulated.

Mid/side processing encodes the stereo signals into one containing only the mono material (mid), and another containing the differences between both channels (side). Apart from the internal tilt filters, mid/side outputs also enable external signal processing such as compression or reverberation. An integrated mid/side decoder returns the results back to standard stereo. And at all times, a LED bar phase meter ensures that phase correlation can be easily maintained.

Notes: Erica Synths Fusion Dual Mixer is designed to mix and overdrive audio signals on the vacuum tube.

Use the Fusion Mixer as two independent 3-input mixers (also for stereo signal mixing) or a 6-input mixer. Special feature of the Fusion Mixer - great tube overdrive effects when level knobs are set to 3 o'clock or above. When used with drum machines, it even emulates sidechain compressors. Notes: Transit has two stereo (dual mono) channel lanes of audio with an all-analogue signal path. Each stereo channel lane has its own input gain control, mute button and ducking input. Notes: The J44 models are JICO CUSTOM SHOP brand alternate replacements for the iconic SHURE M44 cartridges. JICO has two products available on the market: the J44A 7 and the J44D. The J44D is designed to be a replacement for the SHURE M44G, while the J44A 7 is designed to be a replacement for the SHURE M447. The JICO J44 models are made to be as close to the actual SHURE M44 cartridges in terms of output performance.

The J44D and the J44A 7 are the same exact cartridge, just as the original SHURE M44G and M447 cartridges. The difference in the sound reproduction is created by the stylus that is used with the cartridge, which produces the distinct sound that is reproduced in conjunction with the J44 cartridges from JICO.

The N-44G stylus that is included with the J44D offers a thicker bass sound than the N-44-7 stylus that is included with the J44A 7, which gives a brighter sound-the same difference as with the SHURE 44 cartridges.

JICO has followed the structure of the SHURE products to release the alternative replacement. Not only the sound output is as close to the SHURE M44 cartridge models but the tracking ability of the J44 performs the same with sticking to a record groove with high jump/skip resistance and low wear.

The JICO J44D offers a vibrant high-definition sound, with a detailed deep warm thickness to the bass. This produces a well-balanced and solid sound. The J44D generates a broad, smooth sound with a musical audio response and 3D audio image, similar to the specification of the genuine Shure M44G cartridge.

The J44D is designed to be a replacement for the SHURE M44G, while the J44A 7 is designed to be a replacement for the SHURE M447. The JICO J44 models are made to be as close to the actual SHURE M44 cartridges in terms of output performance.

The J44D and the J44A 7 are the same exact cartridge, just as the original SHURE M44G and M447 cartridges. The difference in the sound reproduction is created by the stylus that is used with the cartridge, which produces the distinct sound that is reproduced in conjunction with the J44 cartridges from JICO.

The N-44G stylus that is included with the J44D offers a thicker bass sound than the N-44-7 stylus that is included with the J44A 7, which gives a brighter sound-the same difference as with the SHURE 44 cartridges.

JICO has followed the structure of the SHURE products to release the alternative replacement. Not only the sound output is as close to the SHURE M44 cartridge models but the tracking ability of the J44 performs the same with sticking to a record groove with high jump/skip resistance and low wear.

The JICO J44D offers a vibrant high-definition sound, with a detailed deep warm thickness to the bass. This produces a well-balanced and solid sound. The J44D generates a broad, smooth sound with a musical audio response and 3D audio image, similar to the specification of the genuine Shure M44G cartridge.

Notes: The NU-X MG-400 builds on the success of the ground-breaking MG-300 compact multi-FX pedal, adding dual processors and delivering high-definition models and increased flexibility. Integrated effects sections include Drive, Amp Simulation, I.R cabinet simulation, Modulation, Delays & Reverbs with a host of options within each category. Audio modelling is based on the NU-X TSAC-HD algorithm, which delivers high-definition analogue circuit simulation for pro quality guitar tones. An expression pedal covers wah and swell effects amongst other possibilities. All settings can be edited onboard or via USB using the downloadable PC/Mac Quicktone software and then stored into one of 36 internal memory locations. For live or rehearsal backing, the built-in Jam function has a fully featured drum machine and phrase looper. To integrate with a DAW studio suite, the USB also functions as a high-quality audio interface, completing the studio-ready guitar rig. The main output can be stereo or mono for guitar amplifiers or D.I to studio equipment. There is an additional 3.5mm output for stereo headphones.
