Electro Harmonix Deluxe Electric Mistress XO Analog Flanger Pedal
Cat: 560478 Rel: 04 Feb 15

Analog flanger effects pedal with true bypass for maximum signal path integrity
Notes: The classic Deluxe Electric Mistress Flanger is now available in a compact die-cast package with a number of enhancements to make the venerable analog pedal more user-friendly for today's pedalboard using players. The circuit remains true to its roots, but power is now supplied via a standard EHX9.6-200mA power supply which the pedal comes equipped with, or a 9 volt battery. True Bypass switching ensures maximum signal path integrity when the effect is switched off, and an LED has been added to indicate when the effect is engaged.

The original Electric Mistress was introduced in 1976 and the Deluxe version followed two years later. Throughout its decades-long history, musicians have consistently been captivated by its rich, resonant flanging and unique Filter Matrix effect. In that mode the modulation waveform is disconnected from the flanger circuit, freezing the flanger and creating a matrix of filters. It enables a musician to achieve effects like the sound of chimes being played in unison with his or her instrument.

Electro-Harmonix Octavix Analogue Octave Fuzz Effects Pedal
Electro-Harmonix Octavix Analogue Octave Fuzz Effects Pedal (pitch/frequency/modulation effects pedal)
Cat: 563346 Rel: 16 Mar 15

Analogue octave fuzz effects pedal
Notes: Get that late 1960's fuzzed out, octave up sound!

The EHX Octavix Octave Fuzz delivers the definitive late 1960's fuzzed out, octave up sound together with modern enhancements that update the classic concept. Housed in EHX's rugged nano package, the Octavix features Volume, Boost and Octave knobs. Volume regulates the output level of the pedal. Boost controls the amount of fuzztone and Octave adjusts the volume of the octave above. A mini-toggle lets the player select between 9 or 24 volt power rails and determines the power supply voltage for the entire circuit. At 9V the pedals behaves like the classic, saggy fuzz box. At 24V the Octavix delivers a tighter sound and a richer octave tone. True bypass ensures maximum signal path integrity.

A period-evocative, psychedelic design and blue LED contribute to the pedal's vintage vibe.

Electro Harmonix Good Vibes Analog Modulator Chorus Vibrato Pedal
Cat: 565162 Rel: 16 Mar 15

Chorus/vibrato analog guitar effects pedal for that classic 1960's tone and vibe, with expression pedal input & true bypass
Notes: The Good Vibes recaptures the iconic chorus/vibrato effect of the 1960s in an updated pedal with features designed to meet the needs of the modern player.

Like the original Uni-Vibe, it uses photocells to create chorus and vibrato with a warm, undulating, liquid groove for a sound and response that's true to the classic design. Boosted power rails provide 21st century definition and headroom, and an expression pedal input puts free-form control for speed or intensity at your feet. True bypass, too. Very groovy!

Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Neo Digital Reverb Effects Pedal
Cat: 569649 Rel: 28 Apr 15

Digital reverb effects pedal
Notes: Your quest for an ultra pedalboard-friendly stompbox that includes plate reverb is fulfilled!

The EHX Neo Holy Grail is an update to our wildly popular compact digital reverb, the Holy Grail. It contains three reverb algorithms: SPRING, HALL, and PLATE. All three algorithms were designed and tailored for the electric guitar, but they work equally well on most instruments and voices.

The SPRING algorithm is a re-creation of the classic spring reverbs that are found in many guitar amplifiers. The HALL algorithm simulates the reverberations heard in large spaces such as a concert hall or cathedral. The PLATE algorithm is an emulation of a metal plate reverb commonly found in high end recording studios during the 1960s and '70s. The PLATE reverb is a very smooth, tonally balanced sounding reverb that sounds great on many different instruments, especially vocals. True bypass switching ensures your tone won't be affected when the pedal is bypassed.

Cat: 489432 Rel: 23 Apr 13

Notes: The only looper in its class and price range to feature effects & mic input.

Combining 2 independent loops with a dozen onboard effects, the Vox Lil' Looper shares many of the winning features of the Vox Dynamic Looper. The easy-to-use design, solid footswitches, versatile effects, and layering loops are ideal for guitarists who want to break new ground in looped performances or who seeks new expressive power. In addition to familiar effects such as distortion, compressor, phaser, and chorus, the Lil' Looper also offers effects that simulate an acoustic guitar or bass, for a total of 12 types. These include not only effects designed for guitar, but also some designed for use with a microphone, allowing you use to the Lil' Looper for any mic performance as well.

The Lil' Looper is compact, battery operated, and provides a handy headphone output, so it's simple to create and enjoy loop performances anywhere. Easy to transport, it's ideal not only on stage but also for having fun playing loops at home, or even for practicing.

Using the optional VFS2 footswitch offers extended hands-free control of the Lil' Looper; use it to switch effects, play or stop loops, or erase phrases.

Wampler Belle Overdrive Effects Pedal Wampler Belle Overdrive Effects Pedal Wampler Belle Overdrive Effects Pedal Wampler Belle Overdrive Effects Pedal
Cat: 810249 Rel: 05 Feb 21

Distortion/overdrive effects pedal
Notes: The pedal that inspired this circuit has been around for a long time in various forms but most versions of it have too much of a "Hi F" sound about them, they fail to get the right mix of clarity and bass that is needed to make this overdrive sing. Brian has added further gain capabilities to this circuit, and added a bass control that controls all the harmonics from smooth and creamy to tight and crunchy.

The sound this circuit delivers is a firm favorite in Nashville and Brian Wampler's take is everything you would expect it to be - high quality components, a beautiful enclosure, and a glorious tone. If you set the gain low and the bass control up high, you get a wonderful clean boost sound that can rival any Klone circuit, but when you spin the bass down and the gain all the way up, you suddenly find yourself with an awesome transparent overdrive / medium distortion sound with all the crunch you need.

The Color control is more than just a standard tone control and it's pretty unique to this circuit. Dialling it right or left will either boost or cut the high and low end a little, but the midrange frequencies are left well alone. Combine this with the Bass control and you have a very versatile tone shaping palette with Wampler's legendary ease of use. Brian has also added a push switch on the side which will control the amount of compression and alter the clipping structure in the circuit for some extra punch.

This pedal can add some serious muscle to your country, some extra grit to your blues, and some soaring boosts to rock - it's such a flexible drive we know you are going to love stacking it with your favorite pedals as much as playing it straight through a clean amp.

This pedal is equally at home with both humbucker and single-coil equipped guitars. Wampler have included a push switch on the side which will control the amount of compression and clipping structure in the circuit for some extra punch. The Bass control alters the harmonics from smooth and creamy to tight and crunchy. This is a great pedal for all scenarios with its huge, open, balanced, responsive tones.

Brian Wampler's attention to detail and commitment to bringing you the best-sounding & most usable Effects Boxes on the market is nothing new. Those qualities are on full display within the Belle. We're all tone-freaks, and we're always trying new things, but we hope this pedal finds its forever home on your pedalboard, so we built it to last that long.

Distortion/overdrive pedal
Notes: First there was the Plexi-Drive. Then there was the Plexi-Drive Deluxe. Now Wampler Pedals brings you the all new Plexi-Drive Mini. Brian Wampler has managed to cram an improved version of the original Plexi-Drive circuit into a miniature housing and even added some new features.

Since the early 60's, Marshall Amplifiersr have led the way in rock tones with legendary crunch and punchy bass response. Early rock legends such as: Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and AC/DC helped in creating some of the most iconic rock tones ever and catapulted Marshallr into legendary status. Like the original, the Plexi-Drive Mini's unique gain structure covers everything from Vintage '68 style Plexi tones to the all-out massive rock tones of a JTM-45r cranked to ten, or even eleven.

The all-new Mid Boost circuit switch, never featured on any previous Wampler Plexi style pedal, creates a powerful throaty tube-like boost by tweaking several gain stages of the circuit at once. The combination of these switches with the Tone and Gain controls offer impressive tonal flexibility from a mini pedal. Many players love to run Tumnus, Clarksdale and other OD type pedals into the Plexi-Drive or Plexi-Drive Deluxe. For the Plexi-Drive Mini, Brian implemented gain stage and EQ changes within the mid boost circuit to achieve a similar response - the result is astounding, and with masses of gain on tap, things are about to get loud! The Plexi Drive Mini also features our special Bass Boost switch which emulates the tonal difference between a 4x12 and 2x12 speaker cab.

J Rockett Squeegee Low-Noise Analogue Compressor Effects Pedal
Cat: 783236 Rel: 30 Sep 20

Compressor pedal
Notes: We all know the classic tones of The Police or laying down those killer funk lines, tearing it upwith our double stops or plinking out innerchordal melodies right? Well, they all really need compression.

This is not one of those recreations of a complicated studio compressor where you have no clue what any of the controls do. This is a basic two know job that makes it easy for the user, just like what the classic guitar tones were made of. Unlike most compressors that squash your tone a little too much or have too much noise when kicked on our Squeegee provides toneful compression that is dead quiet and feels like real tubes working hard.

It can also be used whether the boost is engaged or not.

The boost feature provides a clean 20+ Db push to your amps and effects. Whether you need your solo to have more umph, want to drive your amp that last little bit towards total crunch or push your other overdrives into high gain mode the Steampunk is your pedal. Maxon Compact Series AD-10 Analogue Delay Ten Series Pedal
Cat: 783247 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Analogue delay pedal
Notes: The AD10 takes Maxon's 30+ years of experience in analog delay design and offers it up in one compact, WYSIWYG pedal.

The AD10 delivers up to 600 milliseconds of gorgeous, organic delay that doesn't get in the way of your original guitar tone. Delay repeats are tuned to perfection with a subtle yet distinct distortion and none of the high-frequency whistle associated with over-clocking of the delay circuit.

The AD10's minimalist control interface makes it incredibly easy to dial in a variety of usable delay effects including double-tracking, faux reverb, tight rhythm slapbacks, and longer delays for solos.

The AD10 retains its distinctive sound even when stacked with overdrives and distortions. It works equally well in the front end or the FX loop of an amp and excels at the runaway feedback self-oscillation that everyone now expects from an analog delay.

The AD10 features a low-impedance buffered bypass, allowing it to drive long cable lengths or other effect units without loss of signal.

Maxon BD-10 Hybrid Bass Driver Ten Series Pedal
Cat: 783267 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: The BD10 Hybrid Bass Driver brings Maxon's 40+ years of experience in Overdrive design to the world of the Bass Guitar. But guitarists, don't despair; the BD10 works equally well with six strings as it does with four!

The BD10 was designed in cooperation with Masaki - a prominent Japanese Bassist who has played with world-class musicians such as Carmine Appice, Gus G, and John Petrucci, and is also a founding member of the Japanese heavy metal band Animetal.

Masaki's aggressive approach to the Bass includes fluid soloing, manic slapping & popping, energetic fills, and crashing chords for punctuation. He required an overdrive that could keep up with this energetic playing style while still retaining low-end punch and authority.

The BD10's symmetrical clipping path provides sustained, harmonically-rich saturation that retains note clarity and expressiveness even at maximum settings. Aggressive yet dynamic, the BD10 can articulate fast playing techniques such as the multi-finger picking and two-handed tapping that Masaki is famous for.

The BD10 can cover a wide variety of distorted tones, from semi-dirty boosts to punchy, tube-like grind all the way to super-saturated shred. Distorted sounds can then be blended with Dry signal using the independent Clean and Drive Level controls.

Fine tuning the balance between Clean and Distorted signals, the user can obtain the ideal mix for their particular playing style and equipment. Use a pick? Turn up the Drive for chunky chugs. Play with your fingers? Boost the Clean for more clarity and articulation of your notes.

Clean signal can be boosted up to +6 dB above unity gain, allowing the DB10 to be used as a clean or semi-clean booster or as a linedriver for your signal chain.

Since the BD10's circuit is based on Maxon's legendary 808 design, it can also be used with Guitar. The dual tone controls allow the user to dial in the lows that are typically lost with 808-style pedals, while the ability to blend clean and dirty signals can simulate the sound of a dual-amp rig as well as pedals like the Klon Centaur and Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive.

Compact, versatile, and musically expressive, the BD10 Hybrid Bass Driver is a worthy and welcome addition to the Maxon family of world-class Overdrives.

Maxon FA-10 Fuzz Elements Air Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783271 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: The FA10 Fuzz Elements Air accurately recreates the distinctive square wave clipping and octave harmonics of one of history's most desirable dirt boxes, the Super Fuzz.

The original Super Fuzz was created by Shin-Ei, but saw later incarnations under brands such as Apollo, Shaftesbury, JAX, Tiesco, Memphis, and most famously, Univox.

It was used on countless recordings in the late 60's & 70's, most notably the Who classic Live at Leeds. Long out of production, the Super Fuzz saw resurgence in the 90's during the Grunge & Alternative Rock era, appearing on the Beastie Boys' Gratitude, Mudhoney's Big Muff Super Fuzz album and Monster Magnet's stoner-rock classic, Superjudge.

The Super Fuzz used dual germanium diodes and a unique full-wave rectification circuit to produce sizzling upper octave harmonics as well as subtle lower harmonics that filled out the guitar sound.

The FA10's analog circuitry nails the Super Fuzz's crushing, compressed tone with surgical precision, and includes the two position Tone switch to toggle between flat and scooped EQ curves. These settings produce wildly different sounds, offering stark contrast to one another and effectively making the FA10 two pedals in one.

A unique aspect of the FA10 is its ability to reproduce rhythm or lead lines with equal clarity, yet without changing settings on the pedal.

Featuring authentic Vintage tones and modern features, the Fuzz Elements Air is the perfect vehicle to make your playing soar.

TECH TALK:
The FA10 features mechanical true bypass switching, Effect LED Indicator, and 9-Volt DC Battery or external adaptor operation.

Maxon FV-10 Fuzz Elements Void Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783304 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Strangled squeals, cacophonous chords, raucous ring modulations and other amazingly unpredictable mayhem - that's just a sample of what you can expect from the Fuzz Elements FV10 Void.

Designed to emulate the otherworldly sounds of the vintage Ampeg Scrambler, the FV10 circuit is loaded with tons of even-order harmonics to create unique octave/fuzz sounds that are dynamic- and frequency-dependent. This means that the FV10's effect is generated not only by which notes you play, but how you play them!

The FV10's effect is not for the faint of heart - Spongy, strangely synthetic guitar tones that swell up out of the depths of some black Void and then sizzle off into infinity. Octave-up OR octave-down effects can be produced, depending on the position of the controls and the playing position on the neck. Likewise, single notes or chords can both be played, each generating their own unique sounds.

By chaining the FV10 with other distortion devices and adjusting the Blend knob, an entire new range of unique fuzz/distortion effects can be achieved as the FV10's circuit interacts with the complex harmonic content of the other device.

Unlike the original Scrambler, the FV10 features a Level control with a significant volume boost. This allows the user to match the pedal's output level to unity gain or to other effect pedals in their signal chain.

Mechanical True Bypass switching makes certain that all this chaos is kept locked up until you decide to unleash it.

Maxon FWA-10 Fuzz Elements Water Ten Series Fuzz Pedal
Cat: 783307 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Reproducing the sounds of the EH Big Muff has become a cottage industry within this cottage industry of effect building. Yet with dozens of circuit variations and wildly inconstant component selections, it's virtually impossible to cite any one particular Big Muff incarnation as the most desirable version to pay homage to.

The FWA10 Water narrows the playing field by taking the authentic Ram's Head replication of the Fuzz Elements Earth and adding a parametric EQ circuit to the mix.

Water's powerful parametric equalizer covers a massive frequency range from a punchy 100 Hz to ear-splitting 5 kHz. Select a frequency and then boost or cut to tweak your tone with pinpoint accuracy.

By manipulating Water's EQ, the user can dial in the entire palette of Big Muff variations, from the more mid-heavy, musical snarl of the original Triangle-Knob Muff to the harmonically-rich sustain of the Ram's Head all the way through to the super-compressed, scooped-mid mayhem of the Green Russian Sovtek's.

The FWA10 Water: Why settle for one Muff, when you can have them all?

Maxon OD-9 PRO+ Overdrive Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783326 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: In 9-volt setting the Pro+ sounds and functions like the standard OD-9 with the added option of a healthy +3 dB of midrange boost at approximately 800 Hz (actual frequency is dependent on Control settings) - great for cutting through a band during solos.

When set to 18-volts the OD-9 Pro+ becomes an 800-pound Gorilla, offering up beefier lows, tighter saturation, improved dynamics and a chunky, aggressive pick attack that will make your amp sound and feel like it just took a Viagra. Switch on the Mid Boost in this mode and let your solos breathe fire.

Don't just play like the pros - play with the Pro Plus.

The Nine Series Overdrive Pro+ takes Maxon's classic OD-9 circuit and serves it up with two side orders of Whoop-Ass in the form of 9/18 volt operation and a Mid Boost switch.

TECH TALK:

The OD-9 Pro+ starts with a jFET buffer which simultaneously offers high input impedance and low impedance into the rest of the pedal - this helps to preserve high-end clarity in the signal.

The first tone stage is the Mid Boost feature: A switchable Op Amp with clipping diodes in the feedback loop. When this stage is not in the signal path the pedal behaves like a standard OD9. With this stage in the path it adds subtle gain and definition to the sound, similar to a cascading gain stage.

From here it's on to the standard OD-9 circuitry: A clipping Op Amp with diodes in the feedback loop that clip the signal gradually as well as a high pass filter that keep the low frequencies from being distorted as much as high. Next there comes a passive LP filter and then an active tone stage. After the tone stage it's through the Volume pot, an Op Amp boost stage which bumps the signal 3X and then sends it to the output.

The Pro+ also utilizes an NJM2374A voltage conversion chip that changes the 9V power input into 9V+ and 9V-, increasing the headroom of the Op Amps (9V to 18V swing) and giving a bigger, chunkier sound to the overdrive.

The OD-9 Pro+ features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch - Input is switched to ground when bypassed.

NOTE ON POWERING THE OD-9 Pro+ - this pedal's voltage regulator IC requires a high inrush current of approximately 2000 mA upon startup. When using with a Power Brick such as the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+, this pedal should be connected to a high current power jack when possible

If it is not possible to connect to a high current jack, you can power the OD-9 Pro+ by leaving a battery in the pedal. Upon initial start-up, unplug the external DC power input cable, engage the pedal, and then plug the DC power input cable back in - the pedal will now power up normally off the external power supply until you power down your pedalboard.

Maxon SD-9 Sonic Distortion Nine Series Pedal
Cat: 783334 Rel: 25 Sep 20

Distortion pedal
Notes: Maxon's current-production reissue captures all the magic of the original with the added benefit of true bypass switching.

The SD-9 provides a smooth distortion that covers a wide range of Gain levels from mild overdrive through pseudo-fuzz. Regardless of the Gain setting, the SD-9 remains articulate and responsive to note dynamics, providing excellent sustain without crossing over into super-compressed Metal territory.

The SD-9's Tone knob has plenty of top end on tap, yet notes still retain a round, full-bodied tonality with the low end presence usually associated with amp distortion. The pedal's midrange response is smooth and even - present without seeming spiked.

Since its humble origins to its current place in the pedalboards of the stars, the Maxon Sonic Distortion has proven itself to be a timeless classic that has only improved with age.

Since its original release in the early 80's the Sonic Distortion has gained a huge cult following among tone connoisseurs, including the likes of guitar legends Scott Henderson and Mike Landau.

"The Maxon SD-9 is the best distortion pedal EVER made, period. It has the clarity and punch you get from a pedal, while retaining the low bass you get with amp distortion. The SD-9 is one of the rare pedals which sound equally great on both the neck and bridge pickups, whether they're humbucking or single coil. It's been a very important part of my tone for many years." - Scott Henderson

TECH TALK:
Input signal goes through a simple High-Pass filter into a transistor that's set up as an emitter/follower (high input impedance - low output impedance). After this it's into an Op Amp stage designed to give a gain range of 67 to 567and a Low-Pass Filter with a corner frequency of approximately 1540 Hz.

From here it's on to a set of opposing-direction diodes to ground and a tone control that is reminiscent of the Boss DS-1 (kind of a Big Muff dual High and Low cut - ending up with a mid scoop that has a high frequency limiting resistor with corner frequencies of 867Hz and 234Hz respectively).

The SD-9's dual diodes to ground give a crunchier, chewier distortion than the popular 808-style "diodes in feedback loop" configuration. Likewise, the SD-9's mid scoop is practically the antithesis of the 808's infamous mid hump.

After the tone control section it's through to a volume control and into another E/F transistor to provide a low impedance output and then on to the true bypass switch.

The SD-9 features Mechanical True Bypass switching via a Fujisoku 4PDT switch - Input is switched to ground when bypassed.

Distortion pedal
Notes: Over the past 10 years Maxon effects have become key ingredients in the guitar rigs of countless metal bands. Notable artists such as Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall and All That Remains have come to rely on Maxon overdrives for their brutal guitar tones on stage and in the studio.

The irony here (pun intended) is that Maxon has never offered a pedal tailored to the needs of the metal guitarist - until now.

Introducing the Maxon SM-9 Pro+ Super Metal - specifically designed for high-gain distortion tones, the SM-9's flexible saturation circuit can churn out everything from classic NWOBHM crunch through to the throaty chunk of today's drop-tuned metal extremes.

Developing such a pedal was no easy task, and the Pro+ was on the drawing board for years before Maxon felt it was ready for release. Several unique "tricks" were incorporated into its design to create a pedal that is as versatile as it is merciless.

Forgoing the use of conventional tone controls, the SM-9 instead features Scoop and Edge knobs to dial in the riffage.

The Scoop control is a mid-band elimination filter with a range from 200 Hz - 2 KHz. This control adjusts the frequency range where the pedal's midrange cut is centered.

Once the amount of mid scoop is determined, any high-end loss can be dialed back in using the Edge control - a Hi-cut shelving filter continuously variable between 2-15 kHz.

These two controls are highly interactive and work much like a parametric equalizer - Adjusting both knobs simultaneously allows the user to find the perfect mix of brutality and clarity.

The SM-9's Gain control adjusts the degree of saturation the pedal provides. This control is actually a dual-ganged pot that increases the amount of distortion while simultaneously boosting the upper midrange band up to 20 dB at 1 kHz.

By boosting and cutting specific frequency bands in relation to Gain, the SM-9's controls allow the user to sculpt brutal, beefy guitar tones that retain note clarity and definition.

The Pro+ also offers switchable 9- or 18-volt operation. In Classic mode, the SM-9 runs at the incoming 9 volts DC, greatly extending battery life. Switching to stabilized 18-volt operation increases headroom, frequency range, and dynamic response of the pedal.

Using the SM-9's controls and voltage options, an almost unlimited variety of monstrous high-gain tones can be dialed in. Whether you're a full-time metal maniac or just need the occasional "nuclear blast" without the bulk or volume of a full stack, the Maxon SM-9 Pro + Super Metal will deliver the goods.

The SM-9 Pro+ offers all the might and majesty of a high-gain amp stack at a fraction of the size and cost.

TECH TALK:

Maxon CP-101 Compressor Reissue Series Pedal Maxon CP-101 Compressor Reissue Series Pedal
Cat: 783403 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Compressor pedal
Notes: The CP101 is the perfect solution for players who need a compressor that doesn't get in the way of their tone. Its optical circuit has a slow, smooth reaction time that allows your initial note attack to pass through without being compressed, creating a more natural picking feel.

The CP101's 4:1 compression ratio is so subtle that it's easy to forget that it's on - until you turn it off, that is. While it is on, you'll notice note levels that are smoother and more consistent, chords and arpeggios that are tighter and more focused, and sustain that will last for days.

One thing you won't notice is the hiss and noise associated with VCA compressors - the CP101 has one of the lowest noise floors available in a stompbox Compressor, even with its Level and Compression controls set to max.

With its natural picking response, transparent effect and low-noise operation, the Maxon CP101 is the perfect compressor for players who hate using compressors.

TECH TALK:
At the heart of the CP101's circuit sits a single CdS (Cadmium Sulfur) Photocoupler. This light-sensitive component varies resistance based on the input signal to control the amp gain, increasing level as the input signal weakens.

Many other compressors accomplish this task using a VCA (voltage controlled amplifier), but the multiple transistors packed into a VCA inevitably lead to high noise levels, which means lots of "hiss" from your rig. The CP101's optical circuit keeps the noise floor low - so low that you can even run it after a distortion and still retain near-silent operation.

The CP101 features buffered, JFET bypass switching with a low impedance output, allowing it to drive long cable lengths or other effect units without loss of signal.

Maxon D&S Distortion & Sustainer Reissue Series Pedal
Cat: 783406 Rel: 15 Oct 20

Distortion pedal
Notes: The EH Big Muff Pi defined the guitar tones of the 70's and then re-defined them in the 90's. Yet for all its legendary pedigree, the Pi of today is a far cry from the triangle knobs and ram's heads that came before it.

Originally released in 1974, the D&S Distortion & Sustainer creates the same silky, compressed fuzz that those vintage Muffs are famous for. Yet where Muffs have a tendency to "blanket" your original guitar tone, the D&S retains more of the original sound and feel of your instrument and amp.

By using hand-selected low-noise transistors, the D&S actually offers more gain than a vintage Black & Red, yet with a lower noise floor. That's right - MORE distortion with LESS noise.

The smooth EQ sweep of the D&S Tone control covers a frequency range that is narrower yet more useful than the Pi's - This tighter, more focused EQ provides superior note definition, even when playing chords.

The combination of these elements gives the D&S the ability to produce huge amounts of distortion with minimal alteration to your guitar's tone.

One big wall of raw, grungy nastiness in a box - the D&S takes the sound of the greatest vintage Muff and turns it up to 11.

TECH TALK:
The secret to the D&S' smooth tone and natural response lies in two areas of its circuit. First, the Hi boost/Hi cut Tone control retains low end response while adding top-end clarity to notes. Next, high-grade, low noise Toshiba 2SC1815 transistors offer more intense distortion with minimal noise and signal degradation.

The D&S features buffered, JFET bypass switching with a low impedance output, allowing it to drive long cable lengths or other effect units without loss of signal.

Notes: EQ's may not be as sexy as overdrives, but when used properly they can add a wide variety of useful new colors to your existing guitar rig.

The GE601 Graphic Equalizer covers six carefully selected frequency bands over a five octave range with 12 dB of Boost/Cut per band (100, 200, 400 & 800 Hz, 1.6 & 3.2 KHz respectively). There's also a Master Level control with 12 dB of overall Boost/Cut.

Adjusting these controls, the GE601 can be used to fine tune your sound in an infinite variety of ways, a few of which are detailed below:

Pickup Simulator (Humbucker to single coil) - To turn a Humbucker into a Single Coil, cut 200, 400, & 800 Hz and Boost 100 Hz & 1.6 KHz.

Pickup Simulator (passive Bass to active Bass) - Cut 200 Hz and Boost 100 Hz & 1.6 KHz to give a passive Bass the clarity and punch of an active instrument.

Pickup Simulator (single coil to piezo)- Cut 200, 400, & 800 Hz and Boost 100 Hz, 1.6 & 3.2 KHz to make a single coil electric simulate the bright, chiming sound of an acoustic guitar with piezo pickup.

Half-cocked Wah - Boost at 800 Hz to emulate the tone of a wah pedal with the treadle set half-way forward. This setting is also ideal for solo boosts (Adjust Level control to taste).

Clean Booster - Leave all frequency bands flat and boost the Level control to use as a clean booster for solos or to overdrive an amplifier's input. For more output, set all frequency bands to maximum boost.

TECH TALK:
After a low-impedance input buffer, the GE601 splits its signal into 6 parallel EQ bands each powered by its own Op Amp (JRC4558). Through the sweep of the slider you can cut or boost the selected frequency.

Boost is created by feeding the effected signal back into the Op Amp, creating an effect of exponential multiplication of that frequency - the higher the slider, the more of the effected signal is fed back through the EQ Op Amp chain.

The GE601 features buffered, JFET bypass switching with a low impedance output, allowing it to drive long cable lengths or other effect units without loss of signal.

Maxon OD-808 Overdrive Reissue Series Pedal Maxon OD-808 Overdrive Reissue Series Pedal
Cat: 783412 Rel: 25 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: Can a pedal be considered a clone if it's made by the company that made the original?!? Maxon designed the original OD808 overdrive circuit in the late 1970's - they then rebranded this pedal for Ibanez as the TS808 Tubescreamer, and the rest is history...

The OD808 Reissue offers up all the warm, creamy, organic overdrive as the original and then some. Never one to rest on their laurels, Maxon has tweaked the current version ever so slightly to reduce noise level while retaining the legendary "808" tone (see Tech Talk below).

The OD808 is the perfect pedal for adding smooth, tube-like overdrive to any clean amp - use it as a secondary dirt channel to beef up a song's chorus section, or keep it on all the time for the crunchy tone that has defined rock and roll.

The OD808 is also ideal for pushing an already overdriven amp over the edge, a la Stevie Ray Vaughan. Hell, stack two of them together like Stevie did and the house is a rockin'! You've never heard - or felt - bluesy goodness like this before.

In recent years the OD808 has been adopted as the overdrive of choice by a generation of guitarists in a most unlikely musical genre - metal.

Turns out that the OD808's mild compression and slight low-end cut are perfect for tightening up high-gain amps; allowing fast note runs to stand out with clarity while making rhythms tight and punchy. Just listen to any recording by Grammy-award winning Producer/Killswitch Engage founder Adam Dutkiewicz to hear how the OD808 has become the voice of a whole new generation of metal guitarists.

The Maxon OD808 - After 40 years it's still being used to reinvent guitar tone as we know it. Reinvent your tone - play the Maxon OD808.

Besides the fact that the Maxon OD808 Reissue sounds richer, warmer, and BETTER than the Ibanez TS808 Reissue, there are also these facts to consider:

Lower noise floor than TS808
Smaller, lighter enclosure
More reliable plunger type switch with soft-click tactile feel
More affordable
TECH TALK
Maxon developed the OD808 circuit more than 40 years ago, and since then it's become the most used, most imitated and most lauded overdrive circuit of all time. While the 808-style overdrive circuit is commonplace nowadays, in 1979 it was a unique design and an industry first.

The secret behind the legendary "808 tone" lies in the amplifier section of the circuit. Rather than having separate amplifier and clipping stages, the OD808 features a signal-distorting diode (Panasonic #MA150) located in the negative feedback loop of the amplifier stage.

The OD808 distorts signal in the amplifier circuit itself which yields a smoother, milder, more natural sounding distortion than a separate clipping stage. This is also the reason that the IC type used in the circuit has such a large impact on the unit's tone. The Reissue uses the correct JRC4558 Op Amp that made the 808 the tone of legend.

It should be noted that the Reissue Series OD808 uses different output resistors than the original version. Vintage TS808's are susceptible to microphonic noise due to static electricity buildup on the chassis. To improve performance, the positions of the output resistors on the reissue OD808 were reversed and their values increased in order to reduce noise levels. This circuit change has no audible affect on the sound of the unit, save for reducing the noise levels.

Maxon OD-808X Extreme Overdrive Reissue Series Pedal
Cat: 783413 Rel: 11 Sep 20

Overdrive pedal
Notes: For over 40 years Maxon's legendary "808" overdrive circuit has been an essential ingredient to achieving great guitar tone. Whether it's used as a booster to drive an amp, as a Dirt box for crunch and extra sustain or as an EQ to shape the tone of a high-gain amp, the 808 in its many incarnations has shown up in more rigs and on more recordings than anyone would care to count.

Yet for all its legendary status, there are some who wish the 808 offered just a little bit more - and for those players obsessed with excess, Maxon has created the OD808X Overdrive Extreme.

The Extreme shares the same basic circuit architecture as the OD808. However, several key component values have been altered to achieve what may be the ultimate overdrive tone.

The OD808X offers a wider frequency response than a stock OD808, with an extended hi-frequency tonal range that offers additional clarity without becoming harsh.

It also features a harder clipping pattern than the standard model, creating a searing, full-bodied drive tone that helps chords ring and notes sing.

An additional +5 dB of output level assures that the OD808X will punch through the densest of mixes with an authority that most OD's just can't match. Its additional level and top-end also allows the X to be stacked in a chain of pedals without getting buried under other Dirt boxes.

The OD808X offers the same "feel" and amazing transparency that the 808 is famous for - digging in you'll get more break-up; rolling back your volume will clean things up and you're guitar will sound like your guitar.

Beyond that, all similarities end and all bets are off. Comparing the X to a stock OD808 is kind of like bringing a gun a knife fight - it's excessive, but you know it will get the job done!

When even legendary overdrives just aren't enough, it's time to go to the extreme - the OD808X Overdrive Extreme.

The OD808X takes Maxon's classic 808 circuit to the extreme; adding extra Drive, Level and High frequencies to create a versatile, amp-like overdrive with excellent note clarity that won't get lost in a mix.

Maxon PT-999 Phase Tone Phaser Reissue Series Pedal Maxon PT-999 Phase Tone Phaser Reissue Series Pedal
Cat: 783418 Rel: 21 Sep 20

Phaser pedal
Notes: With its single knob, the PT999 Phase Tone looks deceptively simple. Yet packed into this tiny blue box is a host of the most authentic 70's-era phasing effects available in a current production unit.

The secret behind the PT999's timeless tone lies in the fact that its circuit is exactly the same as it was when first introduced in 1974. While many "reissue" effects are far from true to the original designs, Maxon has taken great pains to keep the Phase Tone unchanged for close to 45 years.

By adjusting the lone Rate control, a wide variety of expressive phasing nuances can be coaxed from the PT999 - all of them whisper quiet and amazingly transparent. Its minimalist circuit doesn't get in the way of your guitar tone - it simply accentuates it, working equally well to spice up clean or distorted sounds.

If you demand classic phase shifting effects without compromising your guitar's signature tone, the PT999 Phase Tone has no equals.

The PT999 is the easiest way to replicate classic 70's phasing tones without dropping $300-500 (or more!) for a vintage Phase 90.

TECH TALK:
The PT999's four-stage phasing circuit offers 720 degrees of phasing sweep variable from .2 to 14 Hz (cycles per second). The PT999's FET's (Toshiba #2SK246) are carefully sorted and matched by hand to produce the smoothest phasing sweep possible with low noise. Unlike some phasers, the PT999 runs negative feedback of the signal to each phase-shifting FET for less signal distortion.

The four-pole shift of the PT999 creates a chewy, organic phase with a subtle drive to the signal. The 4 phasing Op Amps work together to emphasize this phase point, as each successive one accentuates the notch of the previous, creating a very resonant effect. The subtle drive and resonance really bring out pick attack and add a degree of real, dirty dimensionality.

Internal trimmers adjust center frequency and width of the phasing sweep (factory calibrated, we recommend adjustment of these trimmers be left to a qualified technician).

The PT999 features buffered, JFET bypass switching with a low impedance output, allowing it to drive long cable lengths or other effect units without loss of signal.

Solid Gold FX Sasori Companion Fuzz Effects Pedal
Cat: 792826 Rel: 03 Nov 20

Fuzz pedal
Notes: Inspired by the cult classic Shin-Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz, Solid Golid's Sasori (Japanese for scorpion) is a modern, improved take on the original with an equally rich, searing sound.

Supplier's Notes:
Shin-Ei's FY-2 Companion Fuzz was born in a time when the East and West shared a hunger for fuzz, and all the fuzz pedals were being made that are now considered modern classics. As for the Companion Fuzz, let's just say the original needed some work. Despite this, it still had its devotees- lots of them- just ask Wata of Boris. As a humble tribute, the Sasori is offered.

The Sasori - Japanese for scorpion - lives up to its name by delivering a punishing fuzz tone that checks all the boxes of a versatile fuzzbox, yet is still very much a Companion Fuzz at its core. The tremendous load of harmonics and bite that characterized the original still exist within the Sasori with none of the drawbacks.

Anyone who's played an original Companion Fuzz can tell you about them- the fuzz isn't louder than unity, even when all the way up, the Fuzz control is extremely subtle and the enclosure is just plain huge. Fear no more, Solid Gold have worked overtime and have crafted an antidote to these maladies.

Like any good fuzz, the Sasori excels at both chord and lead work, but with a venom-tipped buzzsaw-like edge that pierces through the densest layers of mix without sounding like an icepick. Looking for a harmonically rich, doomy fuzz that can sound like a synthy gated snarl on demand? Make way for the Sasori.

The volume drop of the original Companion Fuzz has been properly dealt with, and Solid Gold have included a tone control to change the character of the grind from dark and moody to brash and untamed. Like the original, the Fuzz control mixes between two different flavors for maximum versatility. This is one Companion Fuzz you'll want to keep close.

KNOBS:

Fuzz: The original Companion had this control wired as a mix, but Solid Gold have made sure it controls the actual fuzz amount, from barely there to tons of hair.

Tone: Unlike traditional tone knobs, this one controls the mids. It starts at scooped and delivers a punishing dose of midrange.

Vol: There's enough volume on tap to put the sting on your amp's front end.

AUXILIARY:

Input: Instrument or other pedal goes here.

Output: Amplifier or other pedal goes here.

True bypass footswitch: Turns the effect on and off.

POWER:

The Sasori requires a center-negative 9VDC power adapter with at least 5mA of current (not included). Almost all power supplies meet this requirement, but check yours beforehand.

Notes: Guitar & bass pedalboards are all about exploring new tones & textures, creating a wide range of sound for your instrument. Z-TONE Buffer Boost takes your live rig to a new level, letting you shape the sound of your instrument with the input circuits from our award-winning
AXE I/O interface.

Change the tone & feel of your guitar or bass, buffer your tone to survive even the biggest pedalboard, kick in the boost and supercharge all your existing gear with a powerful new front-end.

Z-TONE Buffer Boost offers a high-quality instrument preamp with exceptionally low noise and wide frequency response, and multiple circuit topologies to adapt to any type of guitar, pick-up and style.

Guitar pickups can dramatically change their character depending on impedance - many amps offer a load of 1 MOhms, while pedals can run much lower. That's why the tone and responsiveness of your guitar can change when plugging into different gear.

Z-TONE Buffer Boost gives you the same variable impedance control as our groundbreaking
AXE I/O audio interface, from 1 MOhm to 2.2 kOhms. At the maximum impedance, you'll find your sound tighter, sharper and more precise. Increase the load and the sound becomes thicker and more bold.

You can use this control to coax a wider range of sounds from a single guitar, experiment with how the rest of your rig reacts to these changes, or dial in exactly the right vibe regardless of what comes next in your chain.

Long cable runs, low-impedance stomps and complex routing can degrade your guitar's signal, causing muffled, bassy or lifeless tone. To ensure your signal always stays crystal-clear, Z-TONE Buffer Boost offers a transparent output buffer so you always sound your best.

And Z-TONE Buffer Boost offers a true bypass circuit, so it's completely transparent when not in use.

In addition to the "Link" amp & pedal output, Z-TONE Buffer Boost offers a balanced XLR output to connect to mixers & PAs. Skip the amp and perform direct, or mix clean and processed signals to create even more tonal options.

A switchable ground lift eliminates noise and hum caused by ground loops, and an unbalanced 14" output offers additional flexibility. Now you're ready to connect in any situation.

And Z-TONE Buffer Boost runs on a standard 9V battery, +48v phantom power from your mixer or 9V pedal power supply, so it's easy to drop onto your existing pedalboard.

Want to add killer Z-TONE tone shaping to all your gear? Check out Z-TONE DI offering the same killer features in a convenient direct box for studio and stage use.

Or check out AXE I/O and AXE I/O SOLO, IK's range of premium audio interfaces offering the same great tone-shaping features, and find out just how easy creating best-in-class guitar recordings can be.

delay pedal
Notes: Characterful analogue delay designed for live performance. Simple to use but deeply versatile, especially hooked up to an expression pedal (not included). Blast and Warp switches let you manipulate the effect in real time.

Supplier's Notes:
The Cosmic ECHO Squared is an analog lofi delay that will work with just about anything you plug into it. The dark, lush, moody tones of the ever-popular PT2399 IC provide an out-of-this-world experience. This pedal pushes the chip's limits so you can explore all the gritty elements drifting at the edge of long delay rates. It already outperforms other bucket brigade style echoes, but just to be sure, we added 2 momentary switches, Blast and Warp.

Contains PT2399 IC, a bucket brigade style emulation. This IC has 16-bit sampling for 30-300 milliseconds. After that, the sample rate goes down in relation to the delay length. This results in artifacts and noise being introduced into the audio for weird, cosmic, psychedelic sounds.

This big sister of the Cosmic ECHO is tailored to live guitar and keyboard performers. It has all the features of the original plus:

- Expression pedal input over Rate

- Blast and Warp are now momentary stomp switches

- Blast amount knob now accessible externally

SynthRotek Ratatak Distortion Pedal (fully assembled) SynthRotek Ratatak Distortion Pedal (fully assembled) SynthRotek Ratatak Distortion Pedal (fully assembled)
Cat: 778384 Rel: 28 May 21

distortion pedal
Notes: Synthrotek's version of the classic RAT pedal goes well beyond a clone- 3 of the MOST POPULAR mods are ON BOARD. Switching between these mods is very easy.

The "Ratatak" Rat Clone Complete Pedal gets you that classic gritty tone with a lot of options for your own! We've designed these PCBs as close to the raved-about original with the most popular boutique pedal mods on-board.

4 controls - Volume, Drive, Filter, and R-Tone - to customize your tone. Volume sets the output level, Drive lets you determine the signal gain, Filter dials in the high frequency response, and R-Tone turns up your bass frequencies from clean to fuzzy grit.

DIP Switch Diode Clipping - On-board 4PST DIP Switch selects between 4 different clipping diodes to drastically alter your sound. Turn on the stock version 1N4148s, LEDs, Germanium diodes, or none at all with flick of a little switch. Tons of tweak!

PCB is designed the original RAT tone IC, the LM308 single op amp, for the vintage tone. The updated version of the RAT line of pedals uses an inferior-sounding OP07DP op amp IC. Get the vintage tone!
