Notes: Sine is a harmonically pure VCO with two distinct outputs.

The primary output contains a perfect sine wave with a wide frequency range and pristine volt per octave tracking. The Sub output features two sine tones that can be blended together to achieve a mix of one octave below, or a fifth above the primary output's frequency.

In addition, both outputs have an internal wavefolder that adds harmonic content to the signal allowing for spectrally complex tones within a single module. Keep your tones pure (or not!) with Sine.

Notes: Terci Ruina combines three classic distortions in 4 hp. Distortions are reinterpreted in classic NE style and routed through each other for complete sonic annihilation of any sound. Patch in and out anywhere in the signal chain to pick the best sound for your purpose (because modular). Looking for a pretty distortion? This is probably not your module. Unapologetically gross and dirty.

Notes: The Mankato Filter is a four-pole lowpass filter with positive and negative outputs at every pole, giving you slopes of 6 dB/oct, 12 dB/oct, 18 dB/oct, and 24 dB/oct simultaneously. The negative slope outputs allow you to use the Mankato as a quadrature sine oscillator with 8 available phases. The Mankato will self-resonate from subaudio to superaudio, and responds to one volt per octave through its unattenuated control inputs. When resonating, the 6dB/oct outputs are slightly hotter than the others and can be driven to lightly saturate at full resonance. The signal inputs are DC coupled, which allows you to use the Mankato as a voltage-controlled slew limiter at very low cutoff frequencies.

Notes: The BF-22 VCF is a dual Hi/Low-pass filter inspired by the Sallen-Key filter from the early MS-20.

DISCLAIMER: This filter brings to your modular system the character of early MS-20 sound: Kick-ass-rocking-dirty screams! It inherited not only it's amazing sound, also MS-20 noise floor. If noise floor is an issue for you, this might not be your filter.

Notes: The Sampling Modulator is a multi-function module that lies somewhere between a VCO, a Sample & Hold, and an 8 step trigger sequencer.

Sequencer Clocked Sample & Hold

In this mode it acts like a regular Sample and Hold (S&H) but since it is "sequencer clocked", it is capable of much more interesting patterns than the usual S&H melodies.

The CLOCK input can work in two ways: 1. As a typical clock 2. In "positive going hard sync" mode allowing you to create shuffling and polyrythmic effects.

The HOLD input can be used to keep certain notes playing.

Analog Down-Sampling Effect

In this mode (with the clock running at audio rates) you can go from nasty and harsh sampling rate reduction to an almost clean signal. (The clock run up to 25Khz without external CV and up to 200Khz with CV on the input).

Sampling Modulator/Shaper

Thanks to the V/Oct clock, by feeding a simple waveshape such as a sine wave to IN, and pitch CV to the VCO as well as to the Sampling Modulator CV input, their related frequencies and aliasing caused by the sampling rate reduction are capable of creating clangorous metallic sounds, 8 bit textures and much more.

The game becomes much more interesting when you try to destroy the wave by flipping on and off the switches of the sequencer (which at times can make it sound like three VCOs running in unison).

To understand how the Sampling Modulator works, keep in mind that we are working with a temperature compensated ramp core VCO with more than 4 octaves of tracking. This allows the timbre to stay the same while you move through the scale as the internal and external VCOs are synced in a fashion similar to "frequency related sampling rate modulation"

Unusual V/oct VCO You can use the trigger outputs as a pulse VCO. Flipping the switches on and off the switches can offer a lot of interesting timbral changes.

Notes: Crush Delay v3 is a special Echo-Delay unit based on the PT2399 IC, which is able to offer 400ms of clean delay and up to 2 seconds of dirty repetitions, having a special talent to generate noisy-glitch textures. The module bases its operation on controlling the PT2399 chip with circuit bending techniques, converting the unit in an advanced VC digital trash generator. This third version comes with some interesting new features like redesigned VCAs circuits, wider range for clean delay and reduced depth to make it skiff friendly.

The module features a few VCAs to provide a flexible signal route to maximize module's possibilities. First two VCAs at the inputs to control the amount of signal sent to the delay. The first is routed to both the dry/wet mix and the delay, and the second directly to the delay. Combining the second VCA and the FX Send output allows external feedback routings.

Compared with v2, this third version offers a bigger range of clean delay time as well as a revision of some of the Crush modifiers. Combining those modifiers you will have a access to a vast palette of noises and textures that can be used in many different ways. From ambient/drone patches to even percussion sounds.

The VC Feedback features an automatic gain control to keep levels stable at any feedback level.

Notes: From one of the most iconic names in modular synthesis, the Variable Bandwidth Filter is a unique design, combining two state-variable VCFs with extensive CV control for clean, versatile filtering.

The Serge Variable Bandwidth Filter (VCF2) is probably the rarest classic filter in the Serge system, offering a unique combination of 2 filters. According to the 1983 Serge catalogue, the Variable Bandwidth VCF (VCF2) "has a band-pass output which can be varied manually or with voltage control. This is a standard response synthesizer VCF, typical to filters used in many studio systems. In the VCF2, two state-variable VCF's are connected in series to produce a total of five outputs. High pass, low pass, two fixed bandwidth outputs, and one variable bandwidth output are available. The outputs are all flat-response (no resonance) so the VCF2 is suitable for processing concrete sounds without introducing resonant coloration to the timbres. Under voltage or manual control, cut-off frequency of the high and low-pass outputs are affected, as well as the center frequency of the two band-pass outputs. Both center frequency and bandwidth are independently controllable on the variable bandwidth output."

Now - for the first time, designed and licenced by Serge - the VCF2 is available as a eurorack module. A new switch has been added which determines if the CV-controls are routed to the first (left), second (right) or both filters, bringing even more sonic options than the original.

Orobas is a dual tube amplifier that is composed of two identical units.

Each channel has two audio inputs with dedicated gain controls and one output volume control.
Thanks to clever routing, a wide variety of sounds can be created. The two channels can be connected in parallel or in series (Parallel / Series). In series connection, the output of channel 1 is still active, good for parallel signals (note: each channel output is phase-inverted in relation to the opposite input). This way, feedback can be generated by feeding back the signal from output 1 to e.g. a control voltage input.

The screen control voltage input determines the gain and the sound characteristics. Additionally, the input is normalized to INPUT 1 of the respective channel.

The Suppress control voltage input is normalized to the input signal if nothing is connected. The purpose of this input is to direct electrons reflected from the anode back to the anode. Turning the knob to the positive does not change as much, turning it to the negative slightly attenuates overtones. With a positive control voltage the change is minimal, but with a negative control voltage you can realize e.g. ducking effects and effectively switch off the tube. Audio Rate Modulation is also possible here and a bit milder than with the Screen CV, but still effective.

The evocation potentiometer controls the feedback of the second output into the first channel. The sonic performance is very much dependent on the Plate Bias switch. The Plate Bias switch effectively controls the headroom. This allows you to use the tubes in three different settings, from fuzz sound to full distortion.

Notes: Module A-130-8 contains eight linear voltage controlled amplifiers (VCAs). Each VCA features a control voltage input (CV), a signal input (In) and a signal output (Out). In addition three mixers are included: the socket labelled "1-4" outputs the sum of the VCAs 1-4, the socket labelled "5-8" outputs the sum of the VCAs 5-8, the socket labelled "1-8" outputs the sum of all eight VCAs.

The signal inputs are able to process levels up to 10Vpp without clipping. Each CV input is equipped with a trimming potentiometer that is used to adjust the sensitivity of the CV input in question. In the factory the module is adjusted for the CV range 1...+5V but can be re-adjusted by the user for other control voltage ranges (e.g. 0...+10V).

The amplification range for each single VCA is 0...1. The signals of the sum outputs have a lower amplification to avoid distortion.

The VCAs and mixers are fully DC coupled, i.e. the module can be used for the processing of both audio and control voltage signals. The control voltage and signal inputs can be normalled by means of small solder pads (e.g. 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 and so on, or 1 > 5, 2 > 6, 3 > 7, 4 > 8 for the stereo application mentioned below).

Notes: Erica Synths Black Quad VCA2 is a versatile four channel voltage controlled amplifier and mixer module for use in complex modular systems. Each channel has linear/logarithmic response selector and signal level indicator LED. All outputs are sequentially mixed and CV inputs are normalled to each other, so you can use the module in various configurations. If no CV is applied, the Black Quad VCA2 performs as a signal mixer, and the 4th channel is DC coupled for controlling CV sources, as well.

By default it runs on 32.77 kHz and, this sample rate can be decreased down to 150 Hz or brought up to 48 kHz via SRR input.

XLR Balanced Stereo Outputs

Two XLR connectors (left and right) provide a balanced output with the expected 6 dB extra gain. In many cases, they can allow bypassing a DI box.

TRS Pseudo-Balanced Stereo Outputs

These outputs are very similar in concepts to the ones on the M module, but with large 1/4" jack connectors. It is possible to patch standard TS cables and use them as unbalanced outputs, or use TRS cables to interface them with balanced equipment (the ground is routed to both the ring and the sleeve, for a better performance than regular unbalanced outputs).

Attenuation Switches for Flexible Connectivity

If the two stereo outputs are too hot, a set of switches can attenuate them. The Line/Mic switch on the XLR outputs attenuates them by ~30 dB, while the Line/Inst switch on the TRS outputs attenuates them by ~15 dB.

Stereo Headphones Output with Pre-Fader Listening

The Headphones section allows you to monitor the Master output with an independent volume knob and, at the same time, take advantage of the PFL function on the Channels and the Groups. Rotate the PFL crossfader towards the blue section to blend the PFL modules with the Master sum and check if everything is okay before launching the next scene.

Mono Output with Dedicated Fader

Should you need an extra monitor on stage, or run the whole system through a vintage amp in the studio for parallel processing, the auxiliary monophonic outputs is the answer. It provides the sum of both channels in a handy, pseudo-balanced output with a dedicated fader: attenuate the line level by 15 dB, or amplify it by 6 dB.

Notes: Erica Synths Fusion Dual Mixer is designed to mix and overdrive audio signals on the vacuum tube.

Use the Fusion Mixer as two independent 3-input mixers (also for stereo signal mixing) or a 6-input mixer. Special feature of the Fusion Mixer - great tube overdrive effects when level knobs are set to 3 o'clock or above. When used with drum machines, it even emulates sidechain compressors. When used to mix signals from VCOs Fusion Mixer it works as waveshaper, especially, if pulse width modulated pulse signals is used in one of inputs.

All Fusion modules by default are configured to work with regular eurorack PSU.

Due to the fact that cold tube heaters have lower resistance, Fusion modules have significant power consumption peak at startup, when power consumption almost doubles for 1-2 seconds. This is not a problem with linear PSUs that have power inertia, but may cause switching PSU internal protection to turn off power supply. Please make sure your PSU has some headroom before installing multiple Fusion modules.

Erica Synths Black Mixer/Splitter V2 is an advanced replacement for stackable patchcables.

Everyone who knows a bit more about electronics will point out that stackable patchcables are not a really wise choice for such sensitive things as musical instruments because they mechanically connect electrical signals that at best can cause undesired modulations or even damage the modules.

Erica Black series are high-end modules with unique functionality. Only the highest quality components are used and all inputs and outputs are protected against undesired overvoltage. When designing the Black Series, design and usability were prioritised first. Big knobs are assigned to functions that make difference in sound. Notes: Module A-115 is a four-way frequency divider. The frequency of a signal at the input is halved (half frequency = first sub-octave), quartered (1/4 frequency = second sub-octave), and so on. In this way, the DIVIDER produces four sub-octaves (F/2 down to F/16).

At the output, the A-115 produces a summed mix of the original and the four sub-octaves. There are attenuators to control the amount (i.e. Amplitude) of the original signal and each of the sub-octaves.

Bear in mind that the sub-octaves output by the A-115 are all true square waves. At the output there are always four square waves and the original signal available.

BIONIC LESTER MARK III is a 2-channel 2-pole state-variable digital filter with an unusual amount of good sonic character. The filter mode is continuously variable under manual or CV control, smoothly fading from lowpass to bandpass to highpass to notch to allpass with a single motion. The resonance stops just short of self-oscillation. A digital VCA controls the amplitude and the distortion of the input signal pre-filter. The filters have independent inputs and outputs, and an additional Mix output with balance control. The filter design was initially inspired by the best of late-1990s "virtual analog" filters and has gone far beyond.

The audio input controls have dual behavior. When the control (or CV input) is turned from zero position to the center, it operates as a simple gain control for that input. When turned past the center position towards the maximum, the signal will begin to soft-clip, adding hard clipping as the maximum is approached. This smooth and subtle distortion adds violence to otherwise unremarkable input material, generating additional harmonic content for the filter to process. The digital VCA that controls the gain and distortion functions is aware of the input signal's zero crossing, eliminating "clicking" noises when the gain is modulated.

Each filter section has three CV inputs. The first is a high-speed input hardwired to the filter's cutoff frequency, appropriate for snappy envelopes and slow moving voltages alike. The other two inputs (one with attenuverter control) are freely assignable to any of the filter parameters (cutoff, resonance, mode, gain), storable in a preset. The Mark III preset system stores eight fully programmed panel setups, instantly recalling everything under the harshest demands of performance. The Morph mode allows smooth fading between all of these presets.

Activate Filter B's LINK control for patch-free routing of the filter's control or audio signal. You can achieve dual-peak resonance, cable-free series routing, cascaded 4-pole filtering (with two stages of distortion), and full stereo using only one set of filter controls. The input normalization, LINK settings, and parallel mix output further reduce cable clutter while rapidly patching an elaborate signal flow.

The controls are arranged for maximum tweakability and minimum cable interference, with metal-shaft potentiometers attached to the panel on the large knobs. The Mark III OLED display displays the cutoff frequency in Hertz, resonance amount, and filter type morph. The CV inputs process all input voltages between -10 to +10 volts. Panel size is 15HP.

Notes: Voltera is an expander for the Metron trigger and gate sequencer, adding 4 bipolar voltage tracks. Up to 16 Volteras can be connected to a Metron, providing up to 64 CV outputs.

With independent voltage ranges and quantisation settings per track, Voltera allows simultaneous real-time control of 4 different parameters, so you can set the track to the parameter you are sequencing.

When used in conjunction with Voltera, it is possible to easily sequence melodies and parameters with the Metron.

Notes: A multi-mode divider for clock and audio signals.

It can be used either for dividing clock signals (e.g. from an LFO, BEATDIVIDER) for rhythmical purposes but also for audio signals - in this case you get subharmonics / lower octaves squarewaves at the outputs, which can be mixed or used separately.

The module has eight outputs which - depending on the selected division mode - provide different division factors of the input signal:

Beat: musical/rhythmical clocks are generated as 1/1, 1/2, 1/4... 1/16 and triplets
Binary: the outputs work as binary counter (same as the predecessor module DIVIDER)
Decimal: The outputs have decimal divisions of the input, meaning half, third, quarter, fifth... of the input clock
Prime: The outputs use the prime numbers as division factors
Fibonacci: The outputs use the numbers of the fibonacci row as division factors

The reset input resets all output signals; in case of audio signals this can get quite unique, ringmodulator-like sounds.

The Shift knob shifts/rotates the outputs; usually, the fastest output is on output 1, but with shift the entire output pattern is shifted so the fastest output can be set to any position 1...8.

Notes: The Spherical Wavetable Navigator (SWN) is a six-channel synthesiser that makes it easy to create slowly morphing drones, polyphonic melodies, evolving sequences, and rich textures.

The SWN features six wavetable oscillators with independent pitch, level, and waveform controls. Six LFOs (Low Frequency Oscillators) can be used as modulation sources and/or envelopes, making it easy to add dynamic motion to your patch. Each channel is a full voice and can be "played" using the top row of buttons, the internal LFOs, or note-change detection on the 1V/oct jacks. The SWN ships with 12 three-dimensional (spherical) wavetables and an easy interface which allows you to record and edit custom wavetables from live audio. Chord v2 is a plug and play solution for bringing musical polyphony to your system. It contains four oscillator voices, a multitude of waveforms, and intelligent tuning functionality. This new version features an expanded sonic palette and feature set in half the size of the original.

It features three primary modes of operation: Chord, Free Running, and Unison. These three modes allow the oscillators to be tuned as diatonic chords, run independently of each other, or be tuned to the same internal frequency for external v/oct sequencing through independent CV inputs.

Notes: This product is used to produce drum and percussion sounds. You can make 909 type of kick drums- the toggle switch on the left chooses between long and short vca decay. The toggle switch on the left chooses long and short pitch envelope decay. Smack knob control lefts you mix in a noise 'paper' sound for the drum.

Notes: Erica Synths Modulator is an advanced modulation and pitched noise source with focus on rhythmic (but not limited to) compositions in mind. It features two identical syncable to the BPM LFOs/noise sources with selectable morphing waveshapes. The module features 10 sets of custom Crash and Ride cymbal samples with Tune control and individual Decay control. Module A-121s is a dual multimode filter which can be used for stereo applications as well as for parallel or serial organized dual mono filters. The core is a 12dB multimode filter identical to the modules A-121-2 and A-121-3. The selection of the filter type is continuously from lowpass via notch and highpass to bandpass. We attached great importance to the usability of the manual controls and CV inputs for both stereo and dual mono applications. For the filter parameters frequency (F), resonance (Q) and type (T) common controls and CV inputs as well as single controls and CV inputs are available. For the filter frequency in addition a manual control and CV input for the filter spread (frequency difference or delta F) is available.

A 45 degrees triangle next to a socket means that the switching contact of the socket is normalled to a fixed positive voltage (SFM1, QM/TM1).
A vertical triangle indicates the normalling of two sockets (In1>In2, SFM1>SFM2, CFM1>CFM2, QM/TM1>QM/TM2).

If the filters do not behave as expected please pay attention to these peculiarities:

For the controls SFM1, SFM2, CFM, Delta F and Delta FM the centre position is the neutral position as these are polarizers. If the filter behaves unexpected these controls should be set to centre positions for the time being.

For the controls F, Q, Level 1, Level 2, QM/TM1 und QM/TM2 the fully CCW position is the neutral position as these are standard attenuators. If the filter behaves unexpected at least the controls QM/TM1 and QM/TM2 should be set to fully CCW. Via the normalling of the sockets QM/TM1 and QM/TM2 and the associated controls the filter parameters adjusted by the major controls (e.g. Type 1, Type 2 or Q) may be overwritten.

By means of small circles at the bottom right side of the front panel the user can mark the function of the QM/TM inputs. These assignments are possible:
QM/TM1 controls QM1, QM/TM2 controls QM2, the filter types are not controlled by external CVs
QM/TM1 controls TM1, QM/TM2 controls TM2, the resonances are not controlled by external CVs
QM/TM1 controls QM1 and QM2 simultaneously, QM/TM2 controls TM1 and TM2 simultaneously

Notes: Quantus Trajecta is a quad envelope designed with polyphony in mind. Quantus Trajecta's envelope structure takes the functionality from Noise Engineering's beloved Loquelic and Cursus Iteritas Percido modules, and adds even more control and mode options like Tremolo and ADSR.

Each parameter is CV controllable, and each control universally adjusts all four envelopes for easy polyphonic tracking. Quantus Trajecta is performable, musical, and most importantly, fun.

Notes: Jam Jam is a versatile and fun trigger-and-gate processor with four individually adjustable and CV-able channels. The three modes pack incredible functionality into the tiny 6hp package.

Random mode turns the module into four individually adjustable probability processors, great for adding variety to a patch.

In Clock Phase mode, the module adjusts incoming clock phase based on clock period. Use this to adjust sequencer timing or to create sequences that drift out of sync and then back in with CV.

Use Gate Delay mode as a simple trigger delay to help keep things in sync in your patch or for creative patching: dial in shifts in the timing of events from sub-millisecond adjustments to huge delays of over 15 seconds.

Jam Jam is a musical and fun utility sure to find a use in every patch.

Notes: A clever approach to VCOs here. Three unevenly phased sawtooth signals are blended to create phase cancellations and unorthodox harmonics. Simple but deep.

Explore the sonic space of phase cancellation! Phase cancellation shapes the characteristics of all acoustic instruments. It forms the basis of chorus and phaser effects. It gives vibrancy to detuned oscillators. The vibrant sound of pulse width modulation or the roaring sound of animated supersaws are a small part of a much larger sonic space that the Triphase Oscillator is built to discover.

The Triphase Oscillator produces three different sawtooth waves at the exact same pitch but with independent phase control. These are blended in a bipolar CP3-type mixer, giving a rich waveform at the output. By blending in a wave with a positive polarity, you reinforce in-phase harmonics; by blending a wave with a negative polarity, you reduce in-phase harmonics. The phase differences between the waves distribute the harmonics from in-phase to out-of-phase. The result is a comb-filter effect, like the effect produced by an acoustic reflection, with notches and peaks spaced evenly throughout the frequency range. Conventional pulse width modulation can be obtained by blending two sawtooth waves with equal but opposite polarity. Supersaw-like behavior can be obtained by using phase CV with the same polarity for all three waves. But many other interesting spaces can be reached. For example, by setting the phases correctly you can cancel out the first harmonic and get a saw an octave higher, or cancel both the first and the second harmonic, giving you a saw an octave and a fifth above the fundamental frequency. Modulation then brings back these canceled harmonics.

The Triphase Oscillator is completely analog, built around a sawtooth core that is functionally stable and accurate but sonically alive. It has linear FM on all three waves, and an excellent hard sync that can create shredding harmonic sweeps. The CP3 type mixer gives good distortion at higher levels, allowing you to blend three 5-volt-peak waves without worrying about headroom. All CV functions at audio rate. With an LFO driving the phases, it can easily replace the classic analog three oscillator setup, and in this configuration it's one of the fattest things you have ever heard. But the Triphase oscillator is much more than a thickener, and can just as easily produce thin reedy sounds or subtly shifting harmonic drones.

Controls:

Scan knob - master control over which input goes to the output. The knob is shifted when a CV is applied to the scan CV input.
Enable switch - Controls which input is active. When the LED is off, the input is removed from the output selection. A dim LED means the input is active but not yet selected. Bright LED means that the input is currently being sent to the output.

The Verbos Polyphonic Envelope module is a set of four envelope generators which can be used together or independently. Cascade logic allows the four envelopes to trigger sequentially with subsequent envelopes starting at the Hold, Decay or End of the previous envelope.

Each envelope offers its own gate input, CV output and end pulse output, so it can be used in up to four-voice polyphonic patches. The three skew controls allow the times to change as each new envelope is switched on. All parameters can be voltage controlled.

Notes: Blokan is a ring modulator for Eurorack based on tubes and transformers. It is built like a classic diode ring modulator, but the diodes are tube based.

The built-in VCO provides the carrier signal (saw wave) and can also be tapped using a dedicated output. The VCO provides a voltage control input. The carrier signal can also be replaced by an external signal.

The module sounds different from conventional ring modulators due to the tubes. There may be slight noise and the carrier wave may crosstalk in the output.

Notes: The 'Stereo Sum' is a unity gain summing mixer that features four stereo input pairs summed as pairs to two independent mix outs or all as a single combined mix. It is a useful utility for efficiently combining outputs of multiple stereo sources, such as the MEGA-TANG and Jumble Henge mixers or multiple MFX returns. The inputs accept stereo or mono signals (via normalisation) which can be audio or CV (module is DC coupled) and the top mixer's outputs are normalised to the bottom mixer section meaning if the upper output is left unpatched the two upper inputs will be added to the lower output.
