Review: The mighty Get Physical label revisits a classic here with Rework's 'You're So Just Just' from back in 2020 getting some fresh new reworks by Detroit dons Seth Troxler X Ryan Crosson and Berlin fav Cinthie alongside an updated version from the act themselves. That version goes first and on it the bass rolls deep, and the drums are snappy and upright. Visionquest co-founders Troxler and Crosson serve up a remix full of trippy sound designs and wiggling hooks, then Cinthie, who runs the Elevate store and 803 Crystal Grooves label, brings her timeless house sound as its hypnotic loops and punchy kick patterns are draped in old-school chord vamps.

Review: Astonishingly, almost 20 years has now passed since Chelonis R Jones showcased the emotional potential of tech-house via his effortlessly soulful single 'I Don't Know'. It was a huge underground smash at the time and has returned to stores sporadically ever since. This reissue, which is part of Get Physical's Classics series of 12" singles, backs his superb original mix (track four) with a more thickset (but nevertheless sonically starry) 2012 rework by Butch and two previously unheard revisions. Oscar L's tweak is insanely bass-heavy and foreboding, while Matthew Herbert's rub reimagines the track as a loose-limbed chunk of micro-house/deep house fusion that only emphasizes the soulfulness of Jones' lead vocal.

"Blink" finds the Anglo-Italian duo's minimal house sound at perfect pitch - dancefloor-minded but infused with all the melody and texture of classic electronica. Review: Now down to just Jay Haze, the Fuckpony project ventures into the deepest, darkest realms of the house underbelly to deliver two ruff and raw club tracks on the first of two 10" releases. "Hot Slave" is a pure burner, packing LFO-warped synths, rattling hats and percussion and a distinctive bassline pattern, building with a devastating techno riff. "Tiny Slave" is an equally jacking adventure, with even more warped analogue sounds, spacey echoes, bleeps and fx.

Review: London DJ/producer Jesse Rose has been involved with house music for more than half of his life. He began playing at parties and clubs in his early teens with Jamie Anderson, but he still thinks some of his peers got a head start. "14 isn't that young. You hear of US DJ's playing parties when they are just 11". "Body Language 3" sees Jesse condense a typical three-hour set into just over 70 minutes, with deep chords, trippy acid undercurrents and chopped up vocal samples from hip-hop - what he listens to at home - appearing in the shuffling, drummy grooves. "Using hip-hop samples is part of a general attitude," he says. "If you listen to house music when you're making house music, that's when things go wrong. I did the mix using two turntables and a CD deck and it took me three weeks to do properly. Don't ask me why I didn't just do it on a computer - maybe I feel DJing should be involved, a performance, rather than just looking like someone checking their emails on a laptop."
