Review: P!NK's latest comeback record 'Trustfall' comes to the obvious pink vinyl, thus turning the it-girl's unforgettable presence on the pop stage into a turntable-ready relic. The album leads the charge with 'Never Gonna Not Dance Again', a feel-good number with clean production and a confident charge against reticence in the dance (a post-COVID mood underlies the song too). Each song on this contemporary pop is more than suitable for blasting at festivals, enthusiastically putting on tube socks, or bowling down the street to on rollerskates. Anything remotely bombastic and colourful - that's P!NK's vibe.

Review: When vital bandmember Andrew Fletcher suddenly passed away at the start of the sessions for 'Memento Mori', even Dave Gahan and Martin Gore wondered aloud whether Depeche Mode would continue. Yet somehow, Gore and Gahan put their much-discussed differences aside, knuckled down and produced something fittingly special: an album that may well be the iconic outfit's most consistent and impressive body of work for decades. Naturally, darkness abounds, with opener 'My Cosmos Is Mine' - all evocative vocals, distorted electronic beats, dark sonic textures and mutilated choral vocal samples - setting the tone for a set that once again brilliantly blends dark synth-pop, gnarled guitars and the kind of lyrical melancholia that stays with you for days. Highlights are plentiful, with our picks including 'Ghosts Again', 'Soul With Me' and closing cut 'Speak To Me'.

Review: Depeche Mode's latest album Memento Mori is one that has been madly anticipated by fans. The record - which comes on wax and in a lovely embossed sleeve here - centres on the mood of grief after the passing of the band's founding member Andrew "Fletch" Fletcher, this is the first LP by a Depeche Mode made up of only two remaining members: Dave Gahan and Martin Gore. The band's progression in their latest years have heard them move into darker, peakier, sadder and more industrial themes, as they make do with a future-present that wasn't promised to them in the 80s, while drawing on deathly topoi and nodding to Ingmar Bergman.

Review: This is a big collection of eight 12"s, a poster and in sept for only the most ardent Depeche Mode fan. The collection features faithfully reproduced original artwork and audio masters and all singles first released on CD singles during 1997. This is an ongoing single Series that will apparently continue over the years so that eventually all recordings previously only available on CD will make their way to wax. This instalment features big remixes from legendary names like CJ Bolland, Kruder + Dorfmeister , Underworld and Jedi Knights amongst many more.

Let's face the truth, Judas Priest were and are either great or shite depending on which side of the heavy metal fence you fall. Those who actually appreciate the barroom-takes-on-stadia vibe will no doubt unanimously vote for tracks like 'Fever', with its dirty undertow and intimidatingly unapologetic march. Others might be too blinded by the riffs of 'Eat Me Alive'. Whichever Side of the fence you fall, at the end of the day, just like Tia Carrere, they wail.

There's a pride and lack of repentance that comes with the formative-era heavy metal bands you don't see so much in the majority of other rock groups. Review: In many ways the critical reception to Dave Gahan's debut solo outing is still surprising. Mainly because a good number of critics seemed surprised at the depth and assurance of the record, which kind of seems to deny the fact this is the voice of Depeche Mode, arguably one of the finest bands to ever come out of the UK and certainly a group that understand what it means to layer musical textures and meld multiple themes.
'Stay' might be the best case in point. It's patient, it's elegant, there's a real air of sorrow but also you can't help feeling loved while listening to it. Balladry in the truest sense, the fact that track is sandwiched between the soft half-house music of 'I Need You' and the epic, theatrical anthem 'Black & Blue Again' is a case in point. A real journey.

Review: This cutely entitled Demodelica double album brings together a load of different versions of classic cuts from Primal Schemas Screamadelica album, which itself has been the subject of a big anniversary reissue this year. All of the 16 tracks here are previously unreleased demo versions that offer a real insight into how the final album came together. The works in progress versions are just as interesting and the whole thing comes with some new notes from Jon Savage. Whether it's the rawness of 'I'm Comin' Down' (Isle Of Dogs Home Studio) or the intensity of 'Movin' On Up' (Hackney Studio demo), fans will be keen to hear this one.

Review: Multi-talented artist Koffee (real name Mikayla Simpson) has been bubbling under for a while now, with plenty of pundits tipping her to become Jamaica's next global musical superstar. She certainly has the skillset to succeed, being a skilled singer, 'deejay' style rapper, songwriter and producer. Gifted, her debut album, is genuinely excellent, with Simpson singing and rapping over backing tracks that blur the boundaries between dancehall, soca, R&B, soul and synth-pop, with weighty bass and patois-heavy lyrics rooting the sound in her island home. Her 2018 tune 'Toast' was a huge smash that found its way onto Barrack Obama's coveted playlist and then the year later she followed it up with a Grammy win for Best Reggae Album. Until recently she has managed all this success with only a relatively small number of tunes available for streaming. This new album is sure to take things to the next level though with its mix of trad reggae and modern pop flourishes.
