000 Baby (6:41)
000 Baby (OM Unit remix) (6:17)
Review: After many years turning out 12"s, Klasse Wrecks has decided to serve up a first-ever 10" and they give the honour to Mr. Ho. His '000 Baby' is a delightfully widescreen sound - a post-rave mix of comedown electronics, dusty breakbeats and soothing ambient pads with some smart vocal samples drifting like wispy clouds. On the flipside, we're treated to and OM Unit remix that beefs things up and speeds up the drums. The percussion too is more defined and the energy levels ramped up with deft 808 bass and searching acidic leads. A nice yin to the A-side's yang.

Crue01A (Kyle Hall remix) (6:26)
Crue03B (Gerd Janson remix) (5:42)
Review: The Crue label comes through with two huge remixers on this lovely marled 10". On the A-side is none other than Wild Oats label boss and Detroit innovator Kyle Hall. He kicks off with a frazzled analogue synth and crisp, raw drum grooves before layering in more dreamy and warm hearted pads. Distant vocals add the detail which allow this one to roll and roll and keep you locked. Running Back boss Gerd Janson then steps up with another punchy deep house cut, this time driven by a bulbous bassline and huge, oversized claps. It's an immediately classic cut.

Review: Jurgen Paape has a brilliantly characterful sound and wrote one of our favourite silly records in 'Ofterschwang' some 13 years ago (go check it out, it's brilliant.) We're glad to hear some new music from the long time Kompakt legend and co-founder and once again it's not what you would expect. 'Allein' is a downbeat piece with oriental melodies and gently plucked strings over warm bass. It's not for the club, that is for sure, but the flip side version 'Allein In Italien' sure is. This one is a chugging and brit Italo disco number with retro 80s synth sounds and plenty of joyous grooves.

Uglyink Theme
Fresh Out The Water
Review: Making for a formidable partnership with their respective loves of beatdown house and boogie, Ugly Drums and Inkswel link up on City Fly for this marvelous EP that makes a powerful opening statement that will appeal to soul cats as much as house heads. The original version of "Watch Out!" features Charli James on vocals, cooing out a righteous delivery over a chunky, squelchy rhythm loaded with 80s funk signifiers. Inkswel then delivers a tripped out dub of the track that will have all lovers of weirdo grooves grinning inanely, while on the flip "Uglyink Theme" gets into a woozy downtempo house frame of mind. "Fresh Out The Water" slows things down even further with a prime slab of dreamy boogie modernism that would go down smooth next to some Dam Funk.

Ce N'est Pas Bon (JD Twitch edit) (5:20)
Review: Long term advocates of JD Twitch's selecting skills will be very happy to see the appearance of this 10" featuring the Optimo man's edit of Amadou & Mariam. Originally made back in 2008, this edit has been a staple of JD Twitch sets and was intended to be released as part of the third volume of the superb charity focused Autonomous Africa series that was issued earlier this year. Licensing issues put the kibosh on those plans, but with the edit having belatedly been granted permission Twitch elected to issue it as one off 10" instead of waiting for volume 4 in 2015. As with the best edits, Twitch's amendments to the original version of "Ce N'est Pas Bon" are subtle and understated, adding little rhythmic elements that make it easier to slip into a DJ set and hypnotise minds. All proceeds will once again go to the Mtandika mission in Tanzania.

Review: John Shima is a prolific electronic music producer. He has a sound maybe best described as futuristic & intelligent, with a hint of quarkiness at times. He brings true depth and emotion into his productions, usually illustrated by using spacey pads, electrofunk basslines and intelligent drum programming. This EP contains two tracks, carefully selected from his archive to compliment one another and to bring you his productions of highest quality.

Review: The increasingly impressive Lobster Theremin label seems to be developing close ties to Hungary's emerging electronic music scene. Having previously released a superb EP from Budapest-based Imre Kiss, they've now turned to one of the country's more established names, S. Olbricht (an alias of producer Martin Mikolai). There's much to admire on this intoxicating four-tracker, from the alien electonics and hustling drums of leftfield techno opener "Fi", to the crackling, off-kilter rhythms and ghostly chords of "RPSTS". Elsewhere, Mikolai demonstrates his deep house nous on the warming "IIX1", and fuses twinkling melodies, creepy chords and a throbbing low-end groove on the similarly impressive "Veuns".

Major Fun (For Joshi)
Your Love Away (For Lucky) (with Jules Etienne)
Review: Frankfurt's Live At Robert Johnson dole out a swift accoutrement to Massimiliano's excellent LP With One Another in the shape of this sublime two track 10". By our reckoning the label's first issue in this format, Major Fun comes with dedications to two friends of the Berlin-dwelling Italian. "Major Fun" is dedicated to a friend called Joshua who has sadly passed and it's vibrant, colourful explosion of sound and rhythm suggests Pagliara wants to celebrate his life. On the flip the hushed vocals of Jules Etienne adds an extra element of restraint to the deep, disco flecked house cut "Your Love Away" which is dedicated to Pagliara's close friend Lucky.

Review: Bless the Firecracker gods for their ongoing series of essential represses! The latest is their tremendous Firecracker 4 EP, originally released in 2009 and perhaps one of the Edinburgh label's definitive records - just look at all those DJs that have charted it above! Present is the absolutely epic, Dennis Parker-sampling "Barely Eagle" by Linkwood & House Of Traps on the A side plus Linkwood appearing again on the B side with his crafty edit of Tabou Combo Superstars 1979 classic "Ooh La La". Not forgetting Fudge Fingas "Situation Diminished" either; a nice, deep and smoky excursion through soulful blues territory. Not to be missed the second time around!

Prototype (Mr Beatnick dub)
Review: Last seen on the Join Our Club label, rising UK producer Clarke Sawkill steps into the physical realm with Prototype, an excellent debut for the Bokhari Records imprint. Primed for optimum club play, Sawkill lays down the one original track which is complemented on the B Side by a remix from the excellent Mr Beatnick. "Prototype" is one long, lolloping slo mo DJ tool with the sort of rolling bassline that tends to wedge itself quite comfortably in your affections and demonstrates Sawkill might be a producer to keep your eye on. Mr Beatnick opts to implement a slightly faster tempo that suits his now familiar sense of melodic warmth down to a tee. Another great 12" from the Bokhari crew.

Review: The Puss label overseen by breakout producer HNNY and Studio Barnhus founder Kornel Kovacs continues to be a source for club ready sounds, with the all caps loving producer at the helm for this much anticipated fourth release. Based around a liberal sample of the Queen Bee, "Sneeze" is one of those club jams that will appeal to party DJs, starting at a hip-hop tempo before a neat little vocal edit sees the track crank up the BPM exponentially and transformed into a no-nonsense house cut. It's a pretty simple idea executed perfectly and you are likely to hear this all over the festivals this summer.

This release has already been tested in different clubs around the world, and the reaction is amazing. Limited press on red transparent 10".

Which is a shame because there's a degree of class to the two untitled productions on this 10" that demands some recognition. Both are unassuming club tools that any deep house selector will appreciate a few hours into their set, all swirling, dubby atmospherics, tunnelling rhythms and snapping percussion.

Review: Simoncino unveils his Craig Paradise Cooper guise with this special limited 10". While he's always been synonymous with authenticity, this homage to the Paradise Garage elevates his dedication one step further. Rich, analogue and ultimately loopy, each of these three tracks whisks us back to house music's most formative era. "Trax I" is a breezy, journeyman soiree that's so euphoric it could make Mr Fingers blush. "Trax II", meanwhile, is undiluted ambience, seeped in emotion. For added DJ pleasure he's also thrown in some bonus beats. Full package. No faking.

Review: Hush offshoot Mistress Recordings launched last October, promising "secret weapons" in a "deep and purist vein". Here, regular contributor and all round man of mystery Doubt drops his third EP for the imprint, a two-track dose of woozy techno hypnotism designed to raise the roof in darkened cellars the world over. "Beauty" surges from the speakers, peppering a tightly coiled techno groove with sparse bleeps, pulsating sub-bass, foreboding chords and off-kilter electric piano. "Vertigo" is an altogether deeper proposition, its spooky chords and clandestine melodies riding a hynpnotic, heads-down rhythm while horror-influenced electronics tumble from the speakers.

Whistle Time
Review: Foto Recordings goes all symbolic for their tenth release. Keeping the numbers in symmetry the 2-track single from label boss OOFT! is pressed on to 10" vinyl, and features one pitched-down & one pitched-up jam. Lead track "Here For You" summons some 70s soul vocals and layers new beats and synths underneath to create a pitch-down monster suitable for late nights and end-of-set moments. On the flip "Whistle Time" has more of a steady summer-house strut with disco samples rubbing up against some understated 303s to provide some terrace action over the warmer months ahead.

This first release pairs two bonafide legends in the shape of Fred P and Kai Alce, both known for their incredibly accomplished takes on house. Fred P's "Ram" is a deep excursion into pulsing chords and delicate atmosphere, while Kai Alce's "Scene 1" is a raw, acidic affair for peak time sets - both are essential cuts.

Pulp (Linkwood Stargazer mix)
Review: Firecracker offshoot Unthank returns with a keenly awaited seventh release that introduces Texan producer Fur into the fold. It's the first credited release for the American producer (real name Bryce Isbell) since his Cocoon EP for the UNO label last year - this coming from a producer who according to his Facebook page has "released over 50 albums" on multiple formats. It's an impressive Unthank debut for Fur which sees weighty pianos and deep house rhythmics match the sounds of a harmonious DJ Sprinkles production. Firecracker's Linkwood bolsters the EP with his Stargazer remix, which replaces heavily struck keys with new age synths, while the loose swing of the original's drums have been tightened to create a linear, but laid back reinterpretation.

Review: With Landed marking one of the recent high points in an illustrious career for Detroit producer Norm Talley, the man himself returns to Landed to examine lead track "Travlin" with a pair of revisions that showcase different outcomes with the confines of slender, refined deep house. "Part 1" takes a dubby path, anchored by a hypnotic chord pattern while the beat ticks away in an unfussy manner. "Part 2" is the more sublime turn though, paring things down even more with a thoroughly minimal set of drums and a wonderfully hypnotic melodic tone undulating throughout. For a classy set of stripped down house shakers, look no further.
