The Tiptop 207t is a modern reimagining of the classic Don Buchla 207 Mixer/Preamplifier from the 1970s 200 Series. This stereo mixer comes with a built-in preamp that allows you to boost external instruments and microphones, making it a versatile tool for any modular setup. The 207t also features a six-channel mixer with a variety of signal routing options, including the ability to route channels to the monitor and L&R signal outputs, with per-channel control over loudness and panning.

Each channel has a Mon switch that sends the channel's signal to the monitor outputs, which are always full-volume and summed to mono, making it useful for basic monitoring applications or rudimentary mixing. The Prog switch sends the signal to the L&R signal outputs, with loudness controlled by the Level Adjustment slider and panning determined by the Channel Assignment knobs. The first and sixth channels offer voltage control of panning; these channels are hard-panned when no CV is applied.

The preamp section features a 1/4" input and multiple gain settings, making it suitable for use with external line level instruments, electric guitars, or dynamic microphones. The continuous amplification control provides added flexibility for your audio needs. Finally, the Expansion In is a stereo input that sums to the left and right main outputs, which is great for chaining multiple 207t modules or adding another stereo source at the final output.

The Wave Transformer is a complex single oscillator with 7 audio outputs. Its method of wave shaping differs from other complex oscillators in that it is not based upon classic wave folding such as is common in West Coast synthesis, or filtration such as is common in East Coast synthesis.

This analogue, vintage-voiced, voltage-controlled oscillator features over 8 octaves of accurate pitch tracking. Its 7 simultaneous wave outputs include a unique Complex output. This strange and novel output varies between a simple waveform (triangle, unless you patch a signal into the Shape Insert jack) and a complex transformation of the harmonic structure of the original waveform. It contains a unique mixture of the fundamental frequency, odd order harmonics, even order harmonics and subharmonics. The Sub Octave panel control will determine whether the sub harmonics are derived from one octave down, two octaves down, or are muted altogether. It will vary from a simple waveform to a silhouette of your cat watching you as you react to a "present" that it left for you on the counter. No, seriously.

The module's Transform control morphs from a basic waveform through many strange iterations into a complex, gnarled mass of audio mutations at the Complex output using an asymmetrical multi differential audio transmutation circuit. You can yield countless variations on these permutations by combining this novel circuit with Hard Sync, Soft Sync, Linear FM and Exponential FM.

Additionally, you can mute the source waveform to use the circuit as a harmonic gate/VCA, rendering the Wave Transformer a voice unto itself.

If that is not enough, there is a Shape Insert that allows you to transform external oscillations and modular-level audio sources.

The 'Mega Milton' is a smorgasbord of handy all analogue utilities in just 8HP that will greatly extend the functionality of your Eurorack system.

It includes a stereo line input converter for incorporating line level external sources into a Eurorack system, a fixed 4 input mixer with breakout attenuator for combining signals, a gated slew limiter for adding slides to sequences, a sample and hold with analogue white noise with a myriad of uses such as generative melodies or producing percussive textures and finally a buffered mult for droop free signal distribution with handy LEDs to monitor.

Notes: The "uMM" combines a MIDI merger and two independent THRU distributors in a module that is only 4 HP wide. All sockets on the module are in MIDI TRS-B format.

At the heart of the two-input MIDI merger is a small, powerful ARM processor with plenty of buffer memory. Two MIDI streams are mixed to one output and can also be tapped via an additional second output. Two LEDs signal the operation of the merger: one LED indicates MIDI activity at the inputs, and a second LED warns of too much data at the inputs.

The second group of functions consists of two independent, separate MIDI THRU distributors. The MIDI data at the respective MIDI input can be picked up and distributed at the three THRU outputs. If required, a 1-to-5 distributor can be created from the two units by connecting an output of the left group to the input of the right group.

Mixer section

Each channel has the following:

Stereo or mono - Each channel can be treated as a stereo channel or a mono channel with two summed inputs.

CV inputs for both panning and level control

Two send buses - You can route each channel to one of two send buses. Each send bus is stereo. You can choose if you want the send to come before or after the level/panning controls.

Mute - The mute has both latching mute (up) and a momentary mute (down). The mute uses a capacitor to slow the turn off and on of the mute action. So it is mostly click-less, but you may find an occasional pop.

Cue bus - You can route each channel to the cue bus.

Mains Section

Two stereo sends outputs
Two stereo returns - which can also be used to directly insert into the main mix.
Main stereo outputs - level controlled with the slider and stereo VU meter.
Main mono output - summed output of the main L&R. If you are after an 8ch mono mix, you can use each channel in stereo mode, use the level control to control the level and then pan control to control the levels of the two channels.

Send-VCA can be added for CV control of the level of the send.

DVCA, Cast Iron, Mingles, and USB-2CH can all be connected with Dupont cables (aka female to female breadboard cables) via pin headers on the back of the modules. Connecting the in and out pins will send/receive the audio into the next module.

The Catalyst Controller is a macro controller with eight precision CV outputs and a responsive crossfader to morph between scenes. A scene is a snapshot of up to eight CV outputs, like a modular preset. Traverse a "pathway" composed of multiple scenes using the crossfader or an external CV signal, or immediately jump using the scene buttons. Record CV and slider movements, and play recordings back via a button or external trigger.

Each output has sub-millivolt precision and a maximum range of -5V to +10V. Channels have an adjustable morphing curve, can be quantized to common scales, restricted to a particular voltage range, or set to output gates.

Whether used as a CV preset manager, seamless transition generator, chord sequencer, CV recorder, or experimental CV playground, the Catalyst Controller puts control of your modular at your fingertips.

Notes: Another update for WMD's clever dual VCA, this time a little bigger to give more control. Digital control of CV and attenuation gives lots of creative options. Third time's a charm.

WMD have done several designs of this circuit over the years, the first one had no knobs, the second was too small, the MKIII is finally how this circuit should be packaged. This module does some really cool stuff and is super useful in any system.

The Digital VCA lets signal through like a normal VCA, but the CV and attenuation level is controlled digitally. This lets us do things like wait until there is a zero crossing to change the amplitude, resulting in clickless amplitude changes.

The Trigger mode causes the VCA to only update when a trigger is received. The addition of a noise circuit for each side let us do a very quick and easy sample and hold that never droops. With no input, 5V is normaled to the attenuator, so you get a 0-5V sample and hold. In Bipolar mode, you can get -5 to +5V.

Both sides have bipolar VCA mode (polarizer), which lets them invert the signal when negative CV comes in. Also known as ring modulation. With the zero crossing detector, this can produce some super wild wave shapes.

Notes: The Catalyst Sequencer combines a traditional clocked step-sequencer with an unconventional phase-based sequencer to produce a new paradigm in sequencing. Eight precision CV sequencer channels can be simultaneously driven by a clock, a phase CV, or scrubbed manually with the crossfader.

Each of the eight channels has its own sequence length, quantizer, transposition, clock divider, randomization, voltage range (max -5V to +10V), and selectable CV (precise 16-bit resolution) or Gate mode.

Phase-based sequencing is an advanced form of sequencing where each step is selected by CV. The Catalyst Sequencer has a smooth, responsive crossfader that scrubs the sequence, playing it forward or backwards to track your motions. Patching in a CV signal will do the same: a ramp-up CV plays the sequence forwards, a ramp-down plays it backwards, a triangle plays it ping-pong, and complex waveforms generate new interesting rhythmic and melodic patterns.

MIX7 is a seven channel analogue summing mixer module for Eurorack. It is designed for summing any of the different types of signals you'll find in a modular system: Audio, CV, Triggers, or Gate.

MIX7 gives ability to sweeten your mix with more headroom using the power of low noise analogue summing. A compact 3HP Eurorack utility module, MIX7 is an attractive mixing addition to any rig, especially with the ability to also combine rhythms, note patterns or CV automations from different control sources. The main output of one section can be connected to the input of another MIX7 to create larger mixing groups and complex signal routes inside your modular.

The MIX7 summing mixing circuit is built with low-noise operational amplifiers, giving it an excellent sound quality for mixing audio, the beautiful texture of classic analogue mixing with plenty of headroom to handle hot modular signals, and the versatility to sum non-audio signals in your system to open up new creative possibilities.

CONTROL PATH is an all in one voice dynamics module that helps build full voices quickly. It contains two analogue envelopes with velocity cv, and one VCA. The Z2040 is TipTop#s redesign of the most famous analog filter from the polysynths of the 80's and features Tiptop Audio's signature lush, big, and creamy sound. Its frequency sweeps make thick bass lines and leads with great dynamics. When modulated with audio frequencies through its various inputs, the Z2040 gets quite colorful and is capable of creating many new sounds and textures as the forces of the incoming waves and their harmonics blend through the filter's non-linear circuit. When set with Resonance feedback fully up, the Z2040 transforms into a pure sine-core VC-Oscillator, great for making snappy percussive elements and whistling sounds.

A look under the hood will find that the heart of the Z2040 is a discrete design 4-pole low pass filter with a core similar to that of the SSM2040 filter chip, used in the 80's Prophet 5 Rev 2 synthesizer, and its brother the SSM2044, used in the famous early EMU samplers and PPG synthesizers of the 80's. Both filters are considered by many to be, "the best sounding filter ever".

The Z2040's four modulation inputs are built to handle CV and audio signals, enabling deep modulation of the filter core and passing signals. A VC resonance input is provided to modulate and even clip the sine wave produced by the filter feedback loop. A Frequency Modulation input (FM) provides dynamic filter sweeps and the unique VC-FM index allows modulation of the incoming FM signals. On top of that, the Z2040 comes with an audio VCA that can be configured to act upon the input or the output of the filter.

Notes: CV Random is a random CV generator with 4 types of randomness and a triggerable sample-and-hold function.

Sliders allow you to set the internal clock tempo (RATE), shape the probability of triggering (PROB), blend old with new values (RND) and set the shape of all four random outputs (SHAPE).

RATE

Sets the tempo of the internal clock. The CV input below the slider adjusts the clock rate, with 1V/oct calibration when the CV attenuverter is 100%. Upon each clock trigger, the RATE slider light blinks, and there is a chance for the internal random source to generate a new value.

PROB

This probability is set by the PROB slider, and if a new value was generated, the PROB slider light blinks and a pulse is emitted from the TRIG output.

RND

When the internal random source generates a new value, it mixes the previous value with a random value, with an amount specified by the RND slider.

SHAPE

The SHAPE slider sets the shape of all four random outputs. At its lowest position (0%), all outputs immediately jump to the new random value (the target value) when the clock is triggered.

At non-zero positions, the outputs interpolate between the previous and the target value, using a different behaviour for each output.

Internal random clock source

Whenever the clock activates, the RATE slider's light flashes. At the same time, there's a chance that the internal random source will create a new value, depending on the PROB slider's setting.

If it does create a new value, the PROB slider's light flashes too, and a pulse comes out of the TRIG output.

External IN & TRIG inputs

If the TRIG input is patched, the RATE slider is ignored, and the internal clock is only triggered when an external trigger is received. The PROB slider is used to filter this trigger by applying some probability.

Self-modulation

Thanks to a switch in the back of the module, you can normalize the LIN output to the 4 CV inputs and adjust the amount of modulation for each parameter with the attenuverters.

This adds another layer of randomness to your results, enabling more dynamic and unpredictable outcomes.

SHAPE Outputs

The STEP output jumps to the new value in one step at 0% SHAPE, and divides the transition into 16 steps at 100% SHAPE.

The LIN output immediately reaches the new value at 0% SHAPE, and takes the whole clock cycle to do so at 100% SHAPE, staying constant in between.

The EXP output shifts exponentially, becoming linear at 100% SHAPE, with its pace adjusted by the SHAPE slider.

The SMTH output transitions smoothly, with the speed controlled by the SHAPE setting, holding at the target until the cycle ends.

ATX1: a classic all analogue saw VCO core with 3 switchable modes, ART, 1V/Oct, LFO and is recommended as the basic building block for ART systems. MIX7 gives ability to sweeten your mix with more headroom using the power of low noise analogue summing. A compact 3HP Eurorack utility module, MIX7 is an attractive mixing addition to any rig, especially with the ability to also combine rhythms, note patterns or CV automations from different control sources. The main output of one section can be connected to the input of another MIX7 to create larger mixing groups and complex signal routes inside your modular.

CONTROL PATH is an all in one voice dynamics module that helps build full voices quickly. It contains two analogue envelopes with velocity cv, and one VCA. The Z2040 is TipTop's redesign of the most famous analogue filter from the polysynths of the 80's and features Tiptop Audio's signature lush, big, and creamy sound. Its frequency sweeps make thick bass lines and leads with great dynamics. When modulated with audio frequencies through its various inputs, the Z2040 gets quite colourful and is capable of creating many new sounds and textures as the forces of the incoming waves and their harmonics blend through the filter's non-linear circuit. When set with Resonance feedback fully up, the Z2040 transforms into a pure sine-core VC-Oscillator, great for making snappy percussive elements and whistling sounds.

A look under the hood will find that the heart of the Z2040 is a discrete design 4-pole low pass filter with a core similar to that of the SSM2040 filter chip, used in the 80's Prophet 5 Rev 2 synthesizer, and its brother the SSM2044, used in the famous early EMU samplers and PPG synthesizers of the 80's. Both filters are considered by many to be, "the best sounding filter ever".

The Z2040's four modulation inputs are built to handle CV and audio signals, enabling deep modulation of the filter core and passing signals. A VC resonance input is provided to modulate and even clip the sine wave produced by the filter feedback loop. A Frequency Modulation input (FM) provides dynamic filter sweeps and the unique VC-FM index allows modulation of the incoming FM signals. On top of that, the Z2040 comes with an audio VCA that can be configured to act upon the input or the output of the filter.

Mixer section

Each channel has the following:

Stereo or mono - Each channel can be treated as a stereo channel or a mono channel with two summed inputs.

CV inputs for both panning and level control

Two send buses - You can route each channel to one of two send buses. Each send bus is stereo. You can choose if you want the send to come before or after the level/panning controls.

Mute - The mute has both latching mute (up) and a momentary mute (down). The mute uses a capacitor to slow the turn off and on of the mute action. So it is mostly click-less, but you may find an occasional pop.

Cue bus - You can route each channel to the cue bus.

Expandable Mixer Series

Bartenders can be cascaded to create 8ch, 12ch, or 16ch mixer. The main level is what is sent the main level control can act as a group control.

Barbacks can be added to add 2ch to your mix. Barbacks can also be cascaded enabling up to a 16ch mixer configuration.

Send-VCA can be added for CV control of the level of the send.

DVCA, Cast Iron, Mingles, and USB-2CH can all be connected with Dupont cables (aka female to female breadboard cables) via pin headers on the back of the modules. Connecting the in and out pins will send/receive the audio into the next module.

Notes: An ultra-compact 10HP VC filter with bags of personality. Camber can be treated as a subtle, non-intrusive sound design tool, or something much more lively.

Camber is designed to be a fun, tactile filter with a small footprint. It's sound is neutral enough for basic filtering without a fuss, with a much more aggressive tone available using high resonance settings in three-pole mode.

Filter Core

The core of the filter is based on a state variable topology using 2164 VCAs and 1% tolerance integrating capacitors. Resonance and feedback control is provided by the fantastic circuit design originally by Neil Johnson "Voltage Controlled 3-Pole State Variable Filter" recently made available in Sound Semiconductor documentation.

Operation

Camber is switchable between low pass and high pass responses with one pole (6dB) and three pole (18dB) flavours of each. It has full CV control of both cutoff frequency and resonance amount. The input is DC-coupled allowing LFO and CV signals to be routed through the filter. The filter will also act as a simple oscillator producing a clean sinusoidal signal with the resonance control turned *almost fully clockwise, and no signal at the audio input. Dialling in the resonance so that it is just under the point of self-oscillation allows the filter to be "Pinged" by sending gate signals to the audio input. This is useful for tuned percussion sounds and FX.

Perform a variety of mixing and sound design duties ranging from subtle brightness and clarity adjustments to low-end rumble removal, boosted low-pass filtering and sweep EQ.

In the default tilt mode, turning the control knob clockwise simultaneously boosts treble and cuts bass. Turning anti-clockwise boosts bass and cuts treble. These boosts and cuts are pivoted around the mid-range. With the control knob at 12 o'clock the frequency response is neutral.

With Baxandall high-shelf mode enabled, turning the control knob clockwise past 12 o'clock introduces and gentle high-shelf EQ weighted around the upper mid-range. Turning the control knob anti-clockwise results in a wide high-shelf cut with subtle bass and mid-range adjustments.

Patching the channels in series allows for radical sound shaping and band-pass responses. Each channel provides up to +/- 8db of low and high-frequency gain control, summing into a low noise output stage. Hot input signals over 15vpp are saturated by active Zener diode clipping.

The ADSR module offers the classic four-stage envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) that is not only loopable (patch the end output into gate input) but also accepts CV control over each of the stages! For the time values (A, D, R) the value set by the knob can be increased to five times the duration by the corresponding CV value. For the Sustain value the knob and CV value are simply added.

Notes: The CVSHIFTER module is the AE version of the well-known analogue shift register modules that are around in the modular world since a long time. It works like this: The CV input is sampled with each trigger input signal and this CV is sent to the CV 1 output; at the same time, all CV outputs 1-4 are shifted by one.

Compared to the "classic" circuits, this module is digital based and therefore doesn't suffer from drift as some analogue ASRs and S&Hs do. The result is, that you can e.g. control the pitch of up to four oscillators which is a first step into polyphony.

The CVSHIFTER module offers three modes:

Classic: Each trigger shifts the CV outs by one position, the new CV goes to output CV 1
Cycle: Each trigger sends the CV to the next output channel, restarting at out 1; additionally a gate signal at the according output.
Random: The CVs are sent in random order to one of the four outputs, plus a gate at the according output.

The Furthrrrr Generator has a main oscillator (carrier) with an extensive and fully voltage controllable wave multiplier and a modulation oscillator (modulator) that can cross-modulate the carrier. Each oscillator has hard and soft sync and also features an integrated tuner: if both LEDs are lit the VCO is at note A. Left LED is lit at note Ab and right LED at A#. Frequency potentiometers are ten-turn models and thus allow for easy tuning. Frequency range of the VCOs is 10Hz-10kHz (and much lower in modulator's LFO mode). Both VCOs feature 2 frequency CV inputs (1x with bipolar attenuator, 1x with 1V/octave), one FM input (jumper selectable between linear and exponential FM) as well as separate input for hard and soft sync. The voltage characteristic can be selected between 1V/octave and 1.2V/octave (Buchla norm).

The main oscillator (carrier) outputs the waveforms sine, saw, square and white noise. The two outputs marked with the magic eye are outputs of the "harmonic section" that generates very complex sounds by the wave multiplier and its parameters symmetry, order and Furthrrrr in the module's right-hand section. Symmetry lowers the level of even harmonics and amplifies the odd harmonics (this affects the pulse wave's width as well). Order adds saturation to the high order harmonics and resembles a low pass filter. Furthrrrr alters the level of harmonics set by the other parameters and produces very interesting, partly brute sounds with lots of harmonics by clipping and folding the wave. All three parameters can be voltage controlled. The carrier oscillator also has inputs for hard and soft sync, the sync-switch can synch directly to the modulator.

The modulation oscillator (modulator) has three wave forms with direct outputs: sine, saw and square. Using the internal modulation via the "mood section" the waveform is selected with a button; an additional staircase wave form is available here, but it can be overridden by inserting a signal into the external input socket. A switch activates the LFO mode.

The Mood section is responsible for the internal modulation of the carrier by the modulator. Switches determine the modulation destination(s) that can be activated simultaneously. These are the Furthrrrr parameter of the harmonic section, the amplitude and the frequency of the carrier oscillator. The "balanced" switch activates the ring modulation between both VCOs. intensity of modulation is controlled by the "mood index" potentiometer and the according CV input with bipolar attenuator.

Notes: The OpticTone is a combination of a 12dB multi-mode Vactrol Filter and a Vactrol Voltage Controlled Amplifier.

It is a completely original circuit inspired by the singular nature of Vactrols and their fluid and natural character.

The Filter section provides the three fundamental filter types: Lowpass, Bandpass and Highpass.

A Resonance knob with voltage control input is available for improved modulation flexibility. The feedback knob interacts with the Resonance path, tempering it from creamy resonance to wacky self-oscillation.

Filter and VCA run in parallel, both are controlled by the Freq/Amp knob and it's associated voltage-control input. The combination of both signals can be crossfaded with a dedicated knob.

The Freq/Amp is also controlled with direct touch control on the panel via the 3 lines below the knob.

The filter frequency control can be inverted by the Inv Freq switch, providing the possibility to change the filter direction. This feature allows the filter to "close" when the VCA is "opening" or the other way around.

The Ping input allows to generate the well known vactrol filter percussive sounds if a gate or trigger signal is provided. The Ping frequency if controlled by the Freq/Amp knob, ranging from low kicks drums to high pitch bongos.

There is also a Drive knob to take care of your saturation needs. The Overdrive range is wide, from soft textural clipping to heavy distortion.

All voltage controlled inputs have an attenuator-inverter knob.

Notes: The DIODEFILTER is an adaption of the well-known diode ladder filter that became most popular by Roland's TB-303 bassline. And here it is for the AE modular!

Notes: DRONX is a special mixer designed especially for the DRONE38 module; if has 6 input channels (so you can connect two DRONE38 modules) and offers some sound processing capabilities: A tone control with bass and treble control, a distortion, and finally a dual delay with different algorithms. Two insert points allow to add up to two more audio effects to the internal signal chain. Together with the DRONE38 module(s) you get a quite nice drone synth for dense, dark soundscapes.

Of course, it can be used with any other sound sources!

Notes: The module was named Kuzmin Filter in the past as a tribute to the developer of the Polivoks, Vladimir Kuzmin. For certain reasons, the module will now be called GRUNGE Filter (due to the sound), with the circuitry remaining unchanged.

The Polivoks was a Russian synth that was produced between 1982 and 1990.This module is the AE version of the filter that gave the Polivoks a unique, rough sound.

Beyond the basic design, this filter offers some additional features:

Two different resonance characteristics, hard and soft
An FM function, that adds the input signal to the modulation of the filter
An optional overdrive for the output, making the sound even more rough and untamed.

The SPRINGREVERB module brings the unique sound of this quite old (introduced in the 60's) technique for creating reverbs to the AE modular.

The reverb works by sending the audio signal to a set of 3 springs; at the other end of the springs the sound is picked up by a transducer, converting the mechanical movement of the springs back into an electrical signal. When the audio signal arrives at the end of the springs, the waves are reflected several times; these reflections create the reverb sound.

The spring "tank" (a metal box containing the springs and transducers, size approx. 24 x 9 x 3.5 cm) is connected externally by a cable.

The product contains all components: The module itself, the spring tank and the connection cable.

Note: The sound of a spring reverb is quite unique and has a strong vintage character; if you are looking for a more "clean", natural sounding reverb please take a look at the MULTIFX module.

Notes: With the STOMP-IO module, you can integrate guitar effect pedals and similar devices into your AE modular system! For output (send) and input (return) return there is a mono minijack socket; two minijack to 1/4" socket adapters are included as effect pedals usually work with the latter ones. Send and return levels can be controlled with separate knobs.

Notes: XMIX is a swiss knife for signal mixing and attenuating, offering four(!) mixers and two attenuators in a 1U module. It is designed especially with very small AE systems in mind.

Notes: The Airlectron Sensor Recorder module is equipped with a sunlight independent distance sensor to generate CV output voltages.

A distance sensor reacts to hand movements and varies the CV output voltages (bipolar/max +/- 5 V, unipolar/max 0-+10 V). The range control adjusts the detection distance (2-50 cm). The freeze function keeps the voltage when there is no continuous movement.

The recorder/looper can be used to record motion sequences for up to two minutes. This recorded data can be played back in a loop or once and restarted at the START/RESET input. LEDs indicate the status of the gate inputs and outputs.

Perform a variety of mixing and sound design duties ranging from subtle brightness and clarity adjustments to low-end rumble removal, boosted low-pass filtering and sweep EQ.

In the default tilt mode, turning the control knob clockwise simultaneously boosts treble and cuts bass. Turning anti-clockwise boosts bass and cuts treble. These boosts and cuts are pivoted around the mid-range. With the control knob at 12 o'clock the frequency response is neutral.

With Baxandall high-shelf mode enabled, turning the control knob clockwise past 12 o'clock introduces and gentle high-shelf EQ weighted around the upper mid-range. Turning the control knob anti-clockwise results in a wide high-shelf cut with subtle bass and mid-range adjustments.

Patching the channels in series allows for radical sound shaping and band-pass responses. Each channel provides up to +/- 8db of low and high-frequency gain control, summing into a low noise output stage. Hot input signals over 15vpp are saturated by active Zener diode clipping.

When you plug a signal into the FWR, you get two outputs in return, which have fully rectified the input. All negative inputs will be kindly returned to you in pristine, fully positive form. Beautiful bouncy sine waves, turned into pure "Oops! All Positive Waveshapes"-cereal, just the way you like it.

Notes: Drawing inspiration from the MMI Maxima, the MMI Helios is intended as a middle ground between the gestural control surface of the Maxima and the fingertip control of the smaller MMI.

Less density, but a much higher degree of patch control is the key point of the Helios, which complements other MMI devices very well, and can be joined with other Helios (Helii?) to form larger and creative control surfaces.

The design is greatly simplified compared to the original MMI, with only two I/O jacks - either can function as input and output, and their interaction with each other is determined by touching both plates simultaneously to form a connection, or in cooperation with other MMI devices.

Available in a "right" and "left" version - one is an exact mirror image of the other, which makes it suitable for having two units adjacent to one another.

Notes: SkipLog, a probability processor with sequence capturing and looping features, along a range of other versatile functions waiting to be explored.

SkipLog is a 3-channel rhythmic probability processor designed for inventive rhythmic exploration in modular setups. Introduce unpredictable rhythmic possibilitis to your creative flow.
SkipLog's basic operation is simple: when a trigger or gate is received at one of its three channels' inputs, the same channel’s Probability knob allows you to control the likelihood of these triggers or gates reaching the output. This inputs are internally connected .

SkipLog continuously captures the binary outcomes of its use, storing them for potential sequences. Activate the Loop function to break from pattern creation and loop the recorded sequences. Individual Loop Length knobs for each channel allow adjustment of the loop sizefrom 1 to 16 or 32 steps (as selected on the back), providing evolving rhythmic patterns.

To fine-tune your arrangement, SkipLog introduces functions like Mute for real-time channel silencing, Inv for signal inversion, and Choke for establishing channel priorities. Lastly, the G/T (Gate/Trigger) Mode enables users to specify whether the channel output is a gate or a trigger.

Notes: An ultra-compact 10HP VC filter with bags of personality. Camber can be treated as a subtle, non-intrusive sound design tool, or something much more lively.

Camber is designed to be a fun, tactile filter with a small footprint. It's sound is neutral enough for basic filtering without a fuss, with a much more aggressive tone available using high resonance settings in three-pole mode.

Filter Core

The core of the filter is based on a state variable topology using 2164 VCAs and 1% tolerance integrating capacitors. Resonance and feedback control is provided by the fantastic circuit design originally by Neil Johnson "Voltage Controlled 3-Pole State Variable Filter" recently made available in Sound Semiconductor documentation.

Operation

Camber is switchable between low pass and high pass responses with one pole (6dB) and three pole (18dB) flavours of each. It has full CV control of both cutoff frequency and resonance amount. The input is DC-coupled allowing LFO and CV signals to be routed through the filter. The filter will also act as a simple oscillator producing a clean sinusoidal signal with the resonance control turned *almost fully clockwise, and no signal at the audio input. Dialling in the resonance so that it is just under the point of self-oscillation allows the filter to be "Pinged" by sending gate signals to the audio input. This is useful for tuned percussion sounds and FX.

Notes: Tilt is the first in Laine's series of core modules, which will take cues from the main product line and strip back the features so both the module width and cost can be shrunk dramatically.

Comprising an 'Ambler' style tilt EQ network similar to the 'Stilts' topology, Tilt allows simultaneous cut and boost of low and high frequencies using a single control.

Tilt control circuits are known for the transparency of their cut and boost curves, coupled with the inherent emphasis gained from cutting one end of the frequency spectrum whilst boosting at the opposite end.

It sounds pretty good on all audio source material but is especially suited to tracking drums, guitar and lead, or manipulating effects sends and returns.

With the control knob at 12o'clock the sound passed is neutral. Turning the control knob clockwise will boost high and cut low frequencies pivoting from a fixed mid-range point. Turning the control anti-clockwise below 12 o clock will in turn boost low frequencies and cut the highs.

In addition to the EQ there is a soft clipping network which will begin to saturate signals over 15 volts peak to peak.

Tilt uses the same high quality OPA op amps, Alpha pots and ENIG PCBs as found in our main product line.
