A few years ago ZVEX Effects released the Candela Vibrophase, a candle-powered vibrato/phaser machined from solid brass and glass that used a mix of 1800s technology (a Sterling heat engine) and 60s/70s audio circuitry to create a lovely swirling effect. After numerous requests to put that sound into a guitar pedal, they came up with a way of dramatically broadening the spectrum of textures available using the original circuitry from the Candela.

It's presented to you here as the Vibrophase, a five-knob four-stage phaser that creates phase and vibrato nuances never heard before. Five knobs! Count 'em! Speed sweeps from maddeningly slow to puppy dog flippy, vibrato/phase sweeps from, erm, you'll figure that out, feedback sends the output back through the phaser again to raise intensity, and there are controls for the top end and bottom end of the sweep so you can completely tailor the sound to your song.

Marshall Mojo in a Box

Heavily inspired by the tone and feel of the following legendary Marshall amps: the non master volume series PLEXI Super Lead (1959/1987) & Super Bass (1992) and the master volume series JMP & JCM800 (2203/2204).

Over the years, Tsakalis have had many different types of Marshall amps on their workbench, some for repairs and others for customisation. Being huge fans of the sound of these classic amplifiers, Tsakalis decided to try and capture its mojo - the true essence of the soul of this sound - and carefully place it in a little box. Thus the Room #40 was born!

Using JFET technology, Tsakalis tried to stay loyal to the tone and feel of the following legendary Marshall amps: the non master volume series PLEXI Super Lead (1959/1987) & Super Bass (1992) and the master volume series JMP & JCM800 (2203/2204).

Tsakalis emphasized on emulating the compression and sag coming from the power amp section, when these amps are pushed to the edge, while at the same time giving access to two famous mods, mod #39 (PLEXI) and mod #34 (JMP & JCM800).

Finally, the Presence control was incorporated to make the sound adjustable to any circumstance, regardless of whether you are plugged into the front of an amp that may or may not have a bright cap or even straight to a power amp.

The Julia is a fully analogue, feature-rich chorus/vibrato packed with a wide array of tonal landscapes begging to be explored. Julia is able to produce mild smooth chorus, to seasick vibrato and everywhere in between. With controls like Lag, Dry-Chorus-Vibrato Blend, and selectable analogue LFO wave shapes, you are able to dial in all types of classic and unique chorus/vibrato sounds not found on traditional chorus pedals.

In 1999, spectrographs picked up an unexplained sound emanating from dark ocean depths. The source of the sound was untraceable. While most scientists attributed it to an iceberg dragging the ocean floor, some sceptics began to understand the true source of the sound. Julia, the water demigoddess. Crying from the deep in a chorus of melancholy hymns, she remains to be uncaught but the pursuit for her is unceasing. Walrus has captured a fraction of her powers in the Julia Analog Chorus/Vibrato.

This Pedal combines a three-control blues driver circuit with two switches for the voicing of Drive and Tone characteristics. Robert and Andy developed these switches to give players a broad range of drive tones. The Drive toggle engages two germanium diodes for a smoother, slightly compressed drive. This drive pedal gives you two tone control circuits to choose from. When the Tone Switch is up and in the AT Position the tone control features Andy's preferred voicing and low-end response. Each note in a chord is clear and articulate. If the Tone Switch is down and in the RK Position that features the legendary Phat Boost providing more low-end frequency response, perfect for pushing up vintage or single coil pickups.

Full Range Overdrive - Germanium Toggle Switch

The MUSE DRIVER combines JFET saturation, diode clipping, and op-amp clipping in order to create its harmonically rich tone. Drive Switch UP for AT Clipping - this mode features asymmetrical LED and silicon diode clipping and is Andy's Super AT Mod sound. Drive Switch Down for RK Clipping - now the circuit features two germanium diodes for clipping. This mode can sound a bit like a vintage fuzz pedal with a softer, smoother feel.

It's a 4-in-1 pedal that gives you two very familiar drive circuits and two brand new amp-like overdrive and distortion tones. It's almost like pedal-modelling, except these are 100% analogue circuits, and you decide which tone-control or clipping-section you want to play through.

Toggle between battle-tested, classic overdrive effects or innovate your sound using new hybrid tones; let your ears be the judge. Diode Clipping

Also the pedal offers both styles of diode clipping - Hard and Soft Clipping: If the Clipping Switch is in the OD Position it features Hard Diode Clipping which is an edgier, more aggressive tone. When in the TS Position that uses Soft Diode Clipping, like a tube amplifier softly overdriven.

Buffered and True Bypass

The Keeley Noble Screamer features Keeley's Vitamin K Infused Buffer for noise free switching. Keeley have developed an amazing sounding buffer which not only makes your rig sound better, it gives you silent switching with no tone loss.

No more pops and clicks to distract from your music. If you want to turn that feature off and go back to true bypass, simply press and hold down the foot switch for two seconds and the pedal will switch to True-Bypass. This is great for players that want the effect of plugging directly into their amp when the pedal is off.

Alternatively, players that want a strong and clear signal even when the Noble Screamer is turned off, simply hold the stomp switch down for two seconds and the effect is back to Buffered Bypass. Enjoy truly silent switching and let your music be the only voice.

The three switchable modes each deliver a unique blend of reverb, but are connected through a spectrum where the Room (R) reverb's longest setting is the Hall (H) reverb's shortest setting, the Hall reverb's longest setting is the Plate's (P) shortest setting, and the Plate's longest setting just keeps on going. The Room setting at its shortest achieves a small, boxy room sound that gradually gets bigger as you turn it up. As you increase the Hall setting, it morphs into a Cathedrals-style reverb that becomes really big, boomy and echoey with distant reflections. Turn up the Plate setting to get bouncy reflections that recycle and reverberate forever.

Ledges can go from an '80s slapback reverb mix to a bigger room spring reverb with the twist of the dials. The Mix knob lets you control how much your signal is affected, while the Length knob controls the size of the reverb. Flexi-Switchr Technology

This device features Flexi-Switchr Technology! This relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching.

For standard latching operation, tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass.

For momentary operation, hold the footswitch down for as long as you'd like to use the effect. Once you release the switch the effect will be bypassed.

Ledges is buffered bypass with tails. Power is required to pass signal.

Power

This device takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. It is always recommend you use pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. FMR Audio's first product, introduced over 18 years ago, the Really Nice Compressor (RNC) is a compact and cost-effective stereo compressor with a high-fidelity audio path and compression scheme. The RNC provides quality compression at a budget price.

How It Sounds

The RNC provides two modes of operation. One allows the RNC to be used for special effects, like snappy snares or popping basses. The other provides near-invisible signal compression for sensitive material where compression artifacts are less desirable (like natural vocals, acoustic guitar or the program bus). The module's Transform control morphs from a basic waveform through many strange iterations into a complex, gnarled mass of audio mutations at the Complex output using an asymmetrical multi differential audio transmutation circuit. The exponential envelopes are specifically designed to generate dynamic percussive tones. The unique linking function connects the end of one envelope's decay to the trigger of the next, enabling the subsequent envelope to activate once the previous one ends. A front-panel trimmer lets you adjust the threshold for triggering subsequent envelopes, while a rear header enables connecting two Ricochet modules together, or linking the last envelope to the first. Let's talk about LFO Offset

AURRAS runs on a pair of opto-isolators each operating on an independent LFO. While most Phaser or Modulation pedals use a single LFO to create their effect, independent LFOs can open a new array of effects by offsetting their symmetry.

The OFFSET ADJ knob and OFFSET MODE FREQ|PHASE knobs work in tandem. For a more conventional effect, turn the OFFSET ADJ mode fully counterclockwise, allowing both LFOs to be in sync with no offset.

The FREQUENCY OFFSET adds rhythmic patterns by slowing down the second LFO, while the PHASE OFFSET fine-tunes the throb by introducing asymmetry between the LFOs.

Thanks to its simple yet intuitive and interactive control set this modulated reverb can be quick and highly reflective or slow and stretchy with noticeable pitched undulations.

The sheer audacity of sound, to fill a room, to fill our heads, to fill our hearts. To act digitally as if tangible, as if these walls could talk, as if this were a real space and not a series of all-pass filters and modulated delays meant to capture the idea of somewhere we'd been before and something we'd done before and something we were before, as if. To give control over the whole thing, to simply stretch by hand the entire clock! It's a heck of a concept really.

BL-37 is a reverb pedal. It is lush but also ringy, and easily stretchable. It modulates, and sometimes that modulation feels certain, an obvious pitch bend, while other times it washes, simply a shimmering softening element. The control set for BL-37 is simple. A Clock slider sets the timing of the entire system - the sample rate that determines signal fidelity, the timing of the reverb, and the speed of the modulation within that reverb are all affected as the slider slides. Additional controls for Feedback, Mix, and Volume allow you to further craft the spatial voice in play here.

Notes: Portable recording made with musicians in mind, the R4 records up to four tracks in 32-bit float resolution, with on-board EQ and effects, amp simulation and the option to bounce recordings down then overdub.

The Erica Synths Black BBD is one of kind analogue delay module. It features two BBD lines: short, 1024 stage and long, 4096 stage, that work simultaneously and you can smoothly fade between those two, thus creating distinct multitap effect.

Furthermore, an advanced BBD clock noise cancellation circuit is implemented that reduces unwanted BBD noise without filtering higher frequencies of audio signal. Most of parameters are voltage controlled, which allows to integrate the module in complex modular setups.

Time

This is delay time manual control.

Because of BBD clock suspension circuit, delay time can be pushed in extremely long regions, however in that case BBD clock noise may appear. The Time CV is added to the knob setting.

In level

This is the input attenuator switch. Select among full amplitude, half amplitude and audio off.

BBD mode

This control smoothly fades between short and long delays. Any setting in-between will result in distinct multitap delay effect.

LFO rate

Adjust the internal modulation LFO rate. The internal LFO controls delay time, and it's automatically disengaged, when an external modulation signal is connected. The LED gives visual feedback on the LFO rate.

LFO shape

Select the LFO shape. Three shapes are available - triangle, square and in-between shape - mix of triangle and square.

Input

This is the audio input of the module. This is manual Dry/Wet mix. The MIX CV is added to the knob setting.

Colour

Even though the module has BBD clock suspension circuit, the colour switch provides extra lowpass filtering of the signal. At top setting no filtering is applied, at lower settings increasing filtering is present.

Feedback

This is the delay feedback manual control. In extreme clockwise settings the module goes into self-oscillation, and by adjusting delay time and BBD mode settings, the module becomes a drone machine. The FBK CV is added to the knob setting.

CV level

This is the Time CV level attenuator. If nothing is patched into TIME CV socket, it controls the internal LFO amplitude.

Notes: Viol Ruina is an all-analogue distortion and lowpass filter with an internal envelope follower and self-modulating cutoff. The four-pole design is reminiscent of the classic filters we all know but with a completely new and slightly ridiculous twist. The independently addressable distortion circuit takes VR into overdriven paradise with a shocking amount of drive. Built-in envelope following makes an easy way to create dynamic patches with the flick of a switch, and feedback FM takes VR to a whole new realm of filthiness. Run a sound through VR, you'll get something cool out of it.

Notes: Popple is an 8hp multimode stereo filter based on the Mutable Instruments Ripples V1 filter section. Popple maintains the buttery smoothness of Ripples filter while giving you two separate audio paths. The audio paths share a resonance, control, a frequency cutoff control, resonance CV input, and a v/oct cutoff CV input. Each channel then has it’s own cutoff CV input with attenuverters (which are normalled to a 2.5V signal).

Popple will also self-oscillate at high resonance settings, when coupled with the v/oct CV control, it can also act as a dual sine wave oscillator.
