It's all in the geometry. One of the downsides of port compression is bass distortion. As you turn up the volume, the efficiency of the port reduces and distortion will increase. Eve audio opted for a large rear rectangular port with no hard edges for our bass port designs. That's one of the reasons Eve monitors have a high efficiency on the lower frequencies.

The results are high sound pressures with tight and punchy bass frequencies that don't cause port distortion. Crank up the volume, and Eve will deliver a round bass. And with no holes to look at every time you glance at your speakers.

Designed to integrate sound sources from outside Eurorack, Verbos's Real World Interface offers three channels including built-in microphones, preamps, envelope followers and a frequency detector.

The Real World Interface is a 3-channel external processing module intended for connecting with sound sources outside the system. The channels are oriented as vertical channel strips. The left and right channels have a built-in condenser microphone, preamp, envelope follower with variable decay and gate extractor. In addition to a preamp, envelope follower and gate extractor, the centre channel also has an Automatic Gain Control (fixed high ratio compressor), fundamental extractor (tracking lowpass filter), frequency detector and locked oscillator. Internal microphones are useful for introducing electro acoustic room sounds into the modular. Envelope followers can be used to have external signal levels effect parameters such as filter cutoff or level for building dynamics processors. Gate extraction allows external sounds such as metronomes, clicks, claps or room sounds to advance sequencers, trigger sounds or initiate other events. The Frequency Detector can extract the pitch of simple monophonic sounds but is also a semi chaotic CV source in the tradition of such modules since their introduction in the 1960's. The Locked Oscillator plays a sine wave at the same pitch as the input signal.

Notes: The SEQ12 is a MIDI Matrix Sequencer (in a console housing) and offers one MIDI Input and three MIDI Outputs. It gives access to 12 tracks and you are able to choose between three track types: drum, chord and monophone. Each track has 2 or 3 controller tracks, routing on MIDI outputs and MIDI channel adjustable. Also, each track has 16 patterns, these can be played in freely programmable sequences one behind the other. Each pattern has its own shuffle pattern, 2 to 3 controller tracks and additional ratchet modes with programmable pitch and trigger patterns.

The product can record MIDI notes and controller values via MIDI In and the data can be edited using the LED buttons. There are 32 memory slots in the device and it has a very stable and accurate timing.

Today's digital effects and plug-ins can create almost perfect room simulations. However, when it comes to characteristic and charismatic reverb, analogue effect-processors are yet to beat. The reverberating sound of a spring is so lively and unique that its sound is almost impossible to recreate in the digital domain. In addition to this, Retroverb Lancet is not just a spring reverberation system - it is an analogue multi-effects-processor. It offers overdrive, filtering, VCA, envelope and LFO to manipulate the spring sound and create different sounds like auto-wah, tremolo, distortion, delay, gater and of course reverb.

The typical spring reverb sound is generated by a Belton/Accutronics type 4 spring tank with 3 individual springs. It can be placed pre or post the VCF/VCA section and equalized by the Tone parameter.

The Crash function generates the popular thunder effect that occurs when kicking an amplifier with spring tank. You don't have to kick Retroverb Lancet you simply can achieve this effect by pressing the Crash button. It also can be triggered by a Gate voltage.

Envelope follower: the envelope follower converts the amplitude characteristic of the audio input signal into a control voltage.
Envelope generator: the envelope generator can be triggered by the input signal itself, a second audio signal or a gate voltage. Depending on the trigger source it works as Attack-Decay or as Attack-Sustain-Release envelope.
LFO: the LFO offers saw up and saw down, square, sine as well as sample&hold. Additionally it can use the envelope generators settings as waveform. It can oscillate freely or reset by different trigger sources.

The new Wavedrum Global Edition represents the nextiand most powerfulievolution in the Wavedrum family. It boasts the largest palette of cutting-edge sounds of any Wavedrum to date; with sought-after percussion sounds from around the world, a major boost in the quality of each sound, and dramatic improvements in usability.

In 2009, Korg unveiled Wavedrum WD-X, a revival of the original Wavedrum that debuted in 1994. The reimagined '09 Wavedrum had a stunning impact as a performance tool that brought new expressive power to musicians-from users of the original Wavedrum to forward-looking percussionists. Subsequent models included Wavedrum Oriental with its added Arabic sounds, Wavedrum Mini with its unique sensor clip, as well as limited edition color models, and the instrument's unbounded potential has continued to accelerate the spread of Wavedrum mania throughout the world.

Percussion instruments that generate rich, dynamic sounds from the bare hand of the player are perhaps the most physical of all musical instruments. While an electronic musical instrument, the Wavedrum Global Edition is painstakingly designed to retain this level of physicality. The sound of the player's strike is sensed by separate pickups for the head and the rim, and used directly as the sound source that drives the DSP-powered algorithm and PCM sound engine. In combination with this, the pressure sensor in the head allows the Wavedrum Global Edition to detect and respond to subtle movements of the player's fingers or palm which can be used to strike, rub, or scratch the head, as well as use techniques such as open shots, slap shots, heel and toe, and mute. Tonal differences produced by using a stick, mallet, or brush, plus changes resulting from different striking locations are also faithfully reproduced, giving the musician a high degree of expressive power and a broad dynamic range that rivals that of an acoustic drum or percussion instrument. This means that percussionists can bring a substantial arsenal of sounds - to rival a stage full of traditional percussion instruments - anywhere without the sacrificing the real feel or sonic quality that they require for their performance.

To further Wavedrum Global Edition's ability to provide the utmost expressiveness and response, Korg has worked to increase the accuracy of the pickup. This boosts the dynamic range of the lows and highs, and improves the response to soft sounds, allowing more sensitive playing.

Innovative technology combines DSP synthesis and PCM samples
The Wavedrum Global Edition contains 60 DSP algorithms, which enable a variety of synthesis methods--analog, additive, non-linear, physical modeling, etc. Working with these algorithms, you can create various instrument sounds, natural sounds, or purely synthetic sounds - in addition to the Wavedrum Global Edition's own unique sounds. Certain DSP algorithms allow you to assign a different DSP method and PCM instrument to the head and to the rim. In other algorithms, the velocity and tone of the strike are used to control the PCM sound, delivering a playing experience rivaling that of an acoustic instrument. The PCM sound engine - the other important part of the Wavedrum Global Edition's sound creation system - contains 400 PCM sounds: 200 for the head, and 200 for the rim. Combining the PCM sounds with the DSP algorithms delivers a natural response far beyond the reach of PCM only instruments.

In addition to conventional drum sounds such as snares and toms, popular percussion instruments such as cajon, djembe, conga, and tabla, as well as metallic percussion such as cowbell and triangle, the Wavedrum Global Edition also provides exotic ethnic instruments and percussion sounds from all over the world, both ancient and modern. For example, the Wavedrum Global Edition allows you to instantly experience The udu, a clay pot percussion instrument; the jegog, a bamboo marimba from the island of Bali; the talking drum of Africa; Arabic percussion such as the darbuka and daf; plus gongs that would require massive setups. There's also a selection of stringed instruments such as sitar, koto, and berimbau. For each of these sounds, the Wavedrum Global Edition not only gives you a faithful re-creation of the original sound, but also provides new expressive potential that is unavailable from any other instrument. Sounds that feature a dramatic leap in quality and variation
The Wavedrum Global Edition places its main emphasis on strengthened acoustic instruments such as snare, djembe, and conga. This pursuit of realism has given the sounds even greater practicality. The Wavedrum Global Edition lives up to its name by also providing a rich assortment of Latin American and African instruments, such as the balafon, shekere, and dundunba as well as the Japanese taiko drum. Of course, there's also a full complement of the sound effects and electronic sounds that you would expect from a synthesizer, further broadening your performance potential. We've also added sounds for cutting-edge electronic dance music styles such as dubstep and moombahton.

The Wavedrum Global Edition generates new expressive potential not merely from its sound, but also from your performance technique. You can make the pitch change randomly each time you strike it, or even specify a scale and play a phrase. Applying pressure to the head is an expressive technique that's possible only on the Wavedrum Global Edition. After striking the head with your hand or a mallet, you can apply additional pressure to control the pitch or timbre of the decay, or produce sustained sounds simply by pressing down on the head, creating sound effects that would be impossible on a conventional percussion instrument.

The 200 preset Wavedrum Global Edition programs range from high-fidelity emulative drum and percussion sounds to a world of and new and unique sounds.

Save your own original sounds
There are a range of parameters available for editing and tweaking to create new user programs to suit your own music or style of playing. In addition to making changes to pitch, decay time, loudness, reverb, delay, and curve (intensity) of the pressure sensor, etc., you can completely alter the sound by, for example, changing the head material parameter from skin to metal. The combination of DSP and PCM sounds can also be changed to create totally new sounds from scratch that can be saved in one of the 200 available user programs.

In addition, the Wavedrum Global Edition provides a new parameter that adjusts the input sensitivity. This makes the Wavedrum's full potential available to everyone from beginners who are not yet able to produce strong strikes, to professionals who can command a broad range of dynamics.

These new programs (up to 200) can be stored in the user area. The Wavedrum Global Edition also has a Live Mode which can store up to 12 favorite programs (from preset or user programs) for selecting programs instantantly during live performances.

While you can enjoy the Wavedrum Global Edition by playing the sounds alone, it offers some special features that provide the ability for users to jam along for fun or for practice. Included are 140 loop phrases from various musical genres you can use during practice. Or use the AUX input to mix in the signal from any audio source - CD, MP3 player, or even an additional Wavedrum for double conga-style setups. Notes: At the core of the EVOLUTION Variable Character Ladder Filter is Dave Rossum's enhancement of the iconic Moog ladder filter from the original E-mu Systems 2100 LPF module (which, incidentally, Dave counts as his favourite sounding of all of the analog filters he designed).

For EVOLUTION, Dave has designed new capabilities that not only allow you to dial in all of the outstanding qualities of the original 2100, but combine to let you create the sonic characteristics of a wide variety of other filter types.

They include:

- A Genus control that allows continuous voltage control of the number of filter poles (from 3 to 6 poles), essentially allowing real-time variation of Evolution's effective cutoff slope from 18dB/oct to 36dB/oct. LEDs give continuous indication of the current slope.
- A Species control that lets you vary the signal level into the ladder, letting you control the intensity of the filter's characteristic distortion. When in self-oscillation mode, this control modulates the amplitude of Evolution's output.
- Voltage controlled resonance with a variable Q Level Compensation control that controls the balance of the resonant peak and the frequencies below the cutoff frequency (which would otherwise be attenuated as the resonance is increased).
- An extremely accurate and temperature-stable frequency control exponential generator (accurate over 10 octaves), rivalling the specifications of the best analog VCOs.

The preamps are where it all starts. Everything you do as a sound engineer is dependent on the quality of your preamps, which determines the direction your mix will take, and ultimately how good it is going to sound. MG Series mixing consoles feature Yamaha's studio-grade discrete class-A D-PRE preamps, which utilize an inverted Darlington circuit comprising two cascading transistors in a configuration that provides more power with lower impedance. Delivering fat, natural sounding bass and smooth, soaring highs, with very low distortion, D-PRE preamps possess an impressively wide frequency range that allow them to handle signal from any audio source without overly amplifying any specific elements of the sound. Having such a pure sonic platform to build on will ultimately save you time and effort by eliminating the need for excessive EQing or additional effects processing in order to "fix" your mix.

The head amp determines sound quality, and op-amp integrated circuits are one of the most important parts in the head amp circuit. MG Series mixers feature new, high-quality, custom made MG01 op-amps that we developed in cooperation with the semiconductor manufacturer. Although many other Op-amps prioritize electrical design and efficiency, we worked directly with the semiconductor manufacturer to focus on sound quality first. MG01 op-amps feature redesigned circuitry in which even the internal components and wiring have been optimized, and use materials such as high-quality silicon wafers and copper wire to achieve superb resolution.

With phantom power, MG Series consoles allow you to take full advantage of the greater frequency response and high sound quality of condenser microphones. The input channel with PAD switch accepts MIC to line level of inputs, PAD Switch attenuates high input signals that often accompany miked instruments during performance, avoiding the clipping that can seriously affect your mix.

"TAKT" is a compact 30HP Eurorack sequencer module for playing or programming trig- ger/gate/velocity rhythm sequences.

The sequencer has 8 tracks with trigger/gate outputs, 8 velocity/modulation CV outputs and full MIDI functionality. The CV track can also be used independently as a modulation track. Live sequencing in looper mode is possible in two ways: SHOTS for playing "note repeats" or quantized triggering via keys or sensors.

Four tracks can be triggered simultaneously with four external distance sensors. These sensors are just 2HP slim modules that can be rack mounted at desired locations. These are connected directly to the module with narrow and sufficiently long ribbon cables, which also supplies the sensors with the necessary operating voltage. The 4 sensors and the connection cables are included in the scope of delivery. The sensors generate trig- gers/gates and can be switched live as a set between tracks 1-4 and 5-8 (e.g. via foots- witch).

Four syncable LFOs with VCOs for amplitude adjustment are also provided. The LFOs are equipped with many interesting functions. This includes 26 different waveforms, phase, amplitude, speed and output voltage. This can be unipolar or bipolar (0..+5v or +/- 5v) and additionally attenuated by AMP (amplitude) with built-in VCA. This means that the LFO outputs can also be adapted to modules that do not have an input attenuator.

Patterns can be switched live and are each up to 4 bars long. 4 patterns plus a fill pat- tern are saved as a scene. 50 scenes can be permanently stored in the module. This means that 250 patterns are available in total.

Additional inputs and outputs for controls are available. There are 4 CV inputs to be defi- ned by the user, as well as 2 programmable analog clock outputs. On the front there are MIDI input and output as 3.5mm TRS sockets. Firmware updates can be done via MIDI- SYSEX.

THE PIPE is a voice / breath / mouth-controlled dynamic FX processor and synthesiser.

Modes, modes, and more modes

So having 4 voices that you can assign willy nilly in your own Frankensynth is super cool, but NiftyKEYZ also has a multi-mode arpeggiator that syncs to an external clock as well as NiftyKEYZ's internal clock.
Speaking of clock, NiftyKEYZ can easily divide incoming clock to your heart's content, as well as generate its own kicking pulse. Perfect as the centre of your system or just being a part of it.
NiftyKEYZ's modwheel can send constant voltage, allowing you to modulate as you wish. Additionally, you can toggle the modwheel into LFO mode where now the modwheel will control the depth of clock-synced LFO with 5 fantastic user-selectable shapes.
NiftyKEYZ also boasts autochord, sequencing, expression I/O, velocity- and there's aftertouch too!

Mults and outs

With the two buffered mults that are in the top of the NiftyKEYZ, you can split whatever signal they put into them and send them wherever they want.
People will love the dedicated headphone outs with their own dedicated control. Plus, the main 2 pairs of 1/4" and 3.5 outs that multiple sources can be summed into and then attenuated will knock their socks off (or at least their shoes).

Did someone say MIDI?

Cre8audio are famous for being MIDI fanatics despite making voltage controllable stuff- therefore it was necessary for NiftyKEYZ to have deep MIDI implementation.
All of NiftyKEYZ's I/O can be controlled via external MIDI from either its 5 pin MIDI Din in and/or its USB MIDI class-compliant connection. No drivers are needed- feel free to connect NiftyKEYZ to your computer's DAW etc. or any external MIDI devices and go to town.
Additionally, NiftyKEYZ is a full-functioning MIDI controller for your computer and or other external MIDI devices. No need for additional MIDI controllers. Use NiftyKEYZ as the one controller to rule it all...

Notes: This 30HP wide module features twelve fixed frequency, inductor based bandpass filters, set at half octave interval spacing and covering from 125 Hz through to 5.8kHz. It also features low pass and high pass shelf filters, again they are fixed frequency and both are active inductor based circuits. It has a vintage pedigree that harks back to the original and highly sought after 914 Fixed Filter bank from the 1960's Moog 900 series modular synthesiser system, however we have brought this design up to date and made it compact enough to fit into skiff friendly Eurorack cases by using gyrator based active inductors, and have added some other very useful features too - the bands are split alternatively to left and right channels, each having their own individual output, and there is also an inbuilt Voltage Controlled cross-fader that allows panning between the left and right banks, with a mix of all bands available in the central position.

In addition, we have a second cross fader that can mix between the dry incoming signal, or an external signal fed into input 2, and this is cross-faded against the wet MIX Output - this allows Voltage Controlled crossfading from wet to dry signals, or between wet and external signals - and the level of each can be adjusted using the Input 1 and Input 2 level controls.

A further addition is the feedback control, this is similar in design to the resonance control on a regular VCF, but because of the multiple fixed filters topology it is rather different in operation - it would normally be added in small amounts to thicken up the sound, however we have allowed the feedback to traverse to quite extreme settings for howling feedback and even soft clipped self-oscillation, especially for the noise merchants out there...

Using L/C inductor topology bandpass circuits rather than the usual Sallen Key R/C active bandpass filters does give a slightly different sound and this is part of the magic of the original 914 filterbank, as the LC based circuit exhibits less phase shift against frequency that the more common Sallen Key R/C based bandpass filters that are used in many Modular synths.

Many people often wrongly assume that a fixed filter bank is exactly the same as a graphic equaliser - however this is certainly not the case, if all of the controls of a graphic EQ are set to centre then a flat frequency response is expected and the output will sound very similar, or identical to the input - this does not happen with a fixed filter bank, the frequency response rises and falls as it passes between each stage (but to a lesser extent than if the filters are all set to maximum output), so it acts as a soft slope comb filter, and the resulting output sounds very different from the input signal. Also, with all of the individual filters turned to zero there will be no output at all.

The two speed select buttons can be used for pitch bending in Platter Play mode and also to respectively increase or decrease the audio material's pitch in steps of one half-tone. Furthermore, the platter's speed can also be controlled via an external MIDI keyboard.

High-Resolution Pitch Section with Digital Fader:
By using the high-resolution pitch fader, you can adjust the platter speed in the classic turntable pitch range +/-8%. The RP-8000 MK2 is also cable of a wider, DJ-friendly +/- 16% pitch range and a massive +/-50% ultra-pitch, allowing for increased creativity when manipulating and mixing records. If quartz lock is active, the platter speed will remain unaffected by the fader position and will spin at zero pitch (0%).

Powerful Motor with Extensive Adjustment Possibilities:
The fine-tuned, quartz-driven motor with digital pitch correction operates at a starting torque of 2.8kg/cm, which can be adjusted up to a maximum of 4.5kg/cm. This makes the RP-8000 MK2 an extremely smooth running turntable. Also, the turntable break speed (platter stop) can be adjusted from 0.2 - 6 seconds and the precision-machined, heavy die-cast aluminium platter is lined with vibration-reducing rubber to eliminate unwanted vibrations and resonance.

If you just bought your Midi Fighter Twister or haven't used the utility in a while chances are you might need to update it's firmware with the latest and greatest. This is a fairly straightforward process as long as you take some extra precautions.

1. Download and install the MF Utility if you don't have it already on your computer (PC/Mac).

2. After you check that any other MIDI related applications (Ableton, Traktor, etc) are closed connect your Twister directly to your computer and open the MF Utility. DO NOT USE A USB HUB

3. Click on "File>Export Settings" and select a destination, this will back up your Twister's settings if you have customized your Twister beforehand and make sure you export it outside of the "Midi Fighter Utility" folder since your OS might lock this location and prevent the MFS file from being generated successfully. If you just got your Twister you can skip this step.

4. If a new firmware is available for your device you should see a message in the utility as soon as your device is detected.

5. Click on the orange UPDATE FIRMWARE button and accept the pop up message warning you not to use a USB hub.

6. Once this process finishes your device will reboot and the MF Utility will now show it has successfully updated the firmware!

Fusion Box lowpass filtering is fully adjustable from none to extreme for a really deep bass sound. A special feature, not found in other contemporary stompboxes or effect units, is the Vintage Stereo Ensemble.

The Vintage Stereo Ensemble provides the classic "stereo ensemble" effect, found on many vintage synthesizers from almost any brand and make. In stereo ensemble effect, the delayed, processed and filtered sound is added back to the dry (mono) audio with inverted phase for one channel, and direct phase in the other. This gives it the distinct and unique moving character, different from that obtained with chorus effects. However, use of inverted phase in stereo field also adds certain peculiarities to watch out for. For example, when such stereo audio is played back on an older "surround" decoding sound system, ensemble effect sound may move to the rear sound channel. Also, if the output gets mixed back to mono, the effect may disappear. This also applies to mono subwoofer systems, or speakers that are placed too close. This is normal, and occurs with any similar vintage stereo ensemble processing. In this case and if such oddities are undesirable, to avoid mono mixing issues, you can choose to use only one of the output channels, or use two separate ensemble processors for left and right channels.

Fusionbox has adjustable input gain, therefore it works with various sound sources - guitars, units with line level signals (synthesizers, grooveboxes, etc.) and modular synths. Footswitch allows to switch on or bypass effects making Fusionbox ideal for guitar players.
