Review: Mott The Hoople's original line up were on hand when the band went in to the BBC to record this live show for radio. It was back in 1970 and the set list they went for mixes up their Dylan-influenced ballads with plenty of more does eyed stoner rock sounds. Fans will recognise most of these tunes from various Mott the Hoople long players, although three of them were never actually on any record other than this one. The pressing is of great quality given the age of the recording and is a must for fans with extensive sleeve notes.

Review: This is the second volume of live recordings from UK supergroup The Firm's best ever live shows at the Oakland Coliseum on 15th March in 1986. It was a year after the group was formed by singer Paul Rodgers (formerly of the Bad Company) - who was responsible for enlisting Led Zep's Jimmy Page - released their self-titled debut, becoming one of the most successful rock outfits of their era and playing across the UK and US in the years after. Review: T Rex, and Mark Bolan, will forever be remembered as one of the all-time greatest British rock 'n' roll bands. Perhaps what's so remarkable is just how varied the outfit's output during their decade-long tenure as cult then chart-topping heroes, moving from the psychedelic folk movement into the heady world of glam rock as the 1960s drew to a close. Those who haven't explored their full back catalogue should do so as a matter of urgency. Tanx and Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow are two bonafide gems therein, both albums reflecting the broad influences that helped forge such a unique sound for the group. 'The Groover', and its B-side, 'Midnight', appeared on neither, released only as a standalone 1973 single, but have regularly been attached to special edition versions of those LPs. Now's the chance to own them in their original format.

Review: Los Angeles glam metal superstars, Warrant, had their biggest success with this Cherry Pie album. It's the band's second full-length and it contains two of their biggest top 40 charting singles. Both the title track and the cheeky anthem, 'I Saw Red', catapulted their name into the 80s-turned-90s rock stratosphere, while the somewhat infantile humour, braggadocios attitude, and hidden intrigue of deeper cuts such as, 'Uncle Tom's Cabin', would signal the more abstract lyricism and clever song-writing tropes that would be more fleshed out and fully realised by the time 1992's seminal, 'Dog Eat Dog', arrived. This reissue comes on nice heavyweight vinyl.
