Kicking things off with a glorious Faze Action remix of ‘Punta Allen’, on which guitars, steel pans and clap-slaps abound, we’re soon further into the mid-rave movements of ‘Libre De Amor’, a new one with Locke, followed by the acidic additives of Ruf Dug’s version of ‘Prezend’. Review: South Street's latest missive gathers together a trio of club-friendly remixes of Nina Simone classics that first appeared on the 2006 compilation "Remixed & Reimagined". Francois K impresses with an A-side revision of Simone's celebrated cover of Beatles classic "Here Comes The Sun" that sounds like a long lost Larry Heard record from his classic Fingers Inc. period. Those after something a little more rolling and funk-fuelled should wrap their ears around Tony Humphries' Dub of "Turn Me On", which boasts a seductive mixture of Romanthony style hard loops and rumbling, UK garage influenced bass. Completing the package is Coldcut's fine re-imagining of "Save Me", which places Simone's heart-arching vocal atop skittish, club-ready drums and looped guitars.

Following their previous outings from the legendary trio 2 Bad Mice comes remixes from two impeccably forward thinking break crafters; Sully takes "Gone Too Soon" into some fantastical places as the breaks scream jungle but the big breeze pads scream Alex Reece but both elements work together emotively. Falty DL, meanwhile, gives us a hardcore schooling on "Limit Of Paradise" with its heavily layered breaks, wall of sound pads and dynamic drops into spacious hooks. Bad to the (clear vinyl) bone!

Review: Released on the Night Time Stories Ltd subsidiary of Late Night Tales last year, Khruangbin's debut album, The Universe Smiles Upon You, was quite the unique proposition; a wholly psychedelic homage to '60s Thai rock/funk. Tracks from that LP form the basis of this latest 12" from Future Boogie's own sub-label Boogie Futuro which, as the title suggests, features some killer remixers doing their thing to Khruangbin. Session Victim bring a sense of deep house class to "The Man Who Stole My Sunglasses," identifying some cooing vocal tones that work so well amidst the shuffle of their Hamburg groove, whilst DJ Milo's tweak of "Balls & Pins" proves he's lost none of his talent for using samples effectively. Maribou State get their percussion on with the heat-treated take on "People Everywhere", leaving Vuelo to deliver a sense of space with his dubbed out revision of "Zionsville."

Review: Andy Vaz's first EP on Persistencebit is remixed by four masters of the art - Jan Jelinek, Detroit's Anthony Shake Shakir, Krikor and Mapstation (aka Stefan Schneider / To Rococo Rot). All mixes relay different contexts and approaches, creating a unique 12". Andy Vaz's original elements of deep house are reinterpreted as serious dance floor hits. Jan Jelinek (as Farben), delivers a minimal house version of 'People Change' that swings and flows like there’s no tomorrow, while Mapstation steps it up a notch in a more old school techno manner. On Side B, Krikor delivers a dark, sinister, bomb shelter mix, in a pumping, analogue-sounding, noisy cut-up style that he is so well known for. A superb mix that will initially twist up the floor and blow the speakers in the true sense of the meaning. Last but not least, Detroit's legend and one of the originators of the initial wave of Detroit techno Anthony Shake Shakir, takes it back to the good old days, delivering an authentic Detroit techno ain't-never-going-out-of-style mix of pure madness.
