  1. Tonight (Legwork remix) (6:10)
  2. Tonight (7:50)
Review: "Legwork 5 comes from Berlin-based bad boy Kenneth Scott. Tonight is a slow building affair with a heavy bass line that weaves it's way into your consciousness before opening up for all-out psychological warfare. On the flip the Legwork guys speed up the tempo and add steady drum work to give the main loop it's just deserts."

Review: REPRESS ALERT! Autoreply label owner OCH invites Kashawar into the fold for their 16th release, following the rising German producer's breakout releases for underground imprints Project London and Soul.on Records. For his Autoreply debut, Kashawar presents Moments and Lost Memories (Parts 1 & 2) which covers all bases of his production palette. Kicking off with "A Feeling" you'll instantly get a "Hi-Tek Jazz" flavour before moving onto "Broken" - a playful yet refined ten minute contemporary minimal work-out. Flip the disc for "Over" and the tension starts to build before the release climaxes with "Flos" a speaker shaking dub work-out of the highest order. With collaborations with Steve O'Sullivan on Mosiac plus Pluie/Noir appearances approaching, it's clear Kashawar is a special young talent!

Extacy EP (180 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: UKR 002. Rel: 17 Feb 14
Deep House
  1. Extacy (original)
  2. In My Life
  3. Extacy (Danny J Lewis dub)
Review: Ultra Knites return with their first release of 2014, the follow up to their debut from late last year which gained the duo much credibility and recognition from some of the scenes leading players. UKR002 finally sees the release of a 'Extacy', a track that has been in demand for over a year having been used as a 'secret weapon' in the duo's own DJ sets. It has been described as genius, but the formula is simple - a stabby rhodes riff accompanied by an infectious vocal hook while a cleverly filtered pad weaves in and out until eventually, the filters open and the track erupts. UK veteran Danny J Lewis steps up for remix duties - a personal inspiration to the pair since the mid 90's who delivers his own unique stamp on the track. "In My Life" takes things in another direction, however the duo's trademark sound remains instantly recognisable - throbbing basslines, filtered synth pads, ruffed up beats and a keyboard solo. Once again this EP has something for everyone and as always, we bring it to you on 180g vinyl.

Review: We at Finale Sessions are glad to have Grey People aka Alex Michalski raining from Chicago he is one of the new up and coming producers from the windy city that has flavor that Finale Sessions really likes and we present you with his first track called "Feeling Strange" with its weird but funky bassline and its dark synths gives it a peak time feel with its spooky chords that sets this track apart from the rest, Then we have the track called " Defeated"which really has this Depeche Mode feel with its wicked bassline and its solid claps but we also dig the pads and synths also. Then last but not least is the track " Forget The Peak" is my favorite track of the ep its solid chords and pads give this track a melodic feel and very dancefloor friendly vibe ..We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your on going support of Finale Sessions ....We Love You

Rastafara EP (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: DOG 1216. Rel: 29 Jan 18
Minimal/Tech House
  1. A1 (7:15)
  2. NeproEP (6:47)
  3. Peremay (6:39)
  4. Rastafara (7:34)
Review: Having largely operated on an autonomous self-release basis up to this point, Outstrip make a sturdy connection with the Dogmatik empire and serve up some of their crucial minimal house wares for all to behold. "A1" is a shimmering treat of a cut with just the right amount of colour bleeding in between the drums, while "NeproEP" strips things back to a raw, functional core. "Peremay" has an ultra-minimal, ever so slightly dubby vibe to it, while "Rastafara" keeps things as lean as possible as well. This is a record that does a sterling job of demonstrating how less can indeed be more.

  3. Tominori Hosoya - "Paradise"
  4. George P - "Deep Space"
Review: Astute wax enthusiast Brothers' Vibe brings forth the third installment of his Mixx Split series, meant to cast light on what the multi-label boss is notorious for: soulful house music! Also signing the opening track 0.95Lonliness', the American prodigy takes us on a deep incursion, skillfully layering classic house beats over uplifting sounds into a heart racing groove. Newcomer Eddie Merced follows up with a deep and dreamy offering, infusing trancy vibes into a futuristic bassline for a full 6:29 minutes of 'Midtown Cruisin''. Delving further into the deep ambient realm, Japanese producer Tominori Hosoya doles out some tribal sounds for his spatial track "Paradise". Closing tune "Deep Space" gives away just a bit of the surprise in its title, as George P injects his signature Tech House oomph in a contrasting murky bassline.

Quando Party Dove Vai? EP (140 gram grey marbled vinyl 12")
Cat: HT 014. Rel: 16 Feb 15
Deep House
  1. Resta Pure Dove Sei (feat Modus)
  2. La Ronde Suite (But Not For Me)
  3. Fast Cars
Review: This february Nightdrivers deliver three first-rate cuts on Holic Trax for the 'Quando Party Dove Vai ?' EP. Following on from Burnski's 'The Hours' EP which saw love from names like Mr G, Catz 'N' Dogz, Detroit Swindle and Eats Everything, Holic Trax returns this February with Nightdrivers' 'Quando Party Dove Vai ?'. Since delivering their debut release on Bosconi Records back in 2013 the Berlin-based duo Nightdrivers have been going from strength to strength stacking up further releases on Claap, their own Nightdrivers label and now Holic Trax. To get things underway the light pads of 'Resta Pure Dove Sei' give the opening track a floaty quality while the weighty percussion and subtle rhythms build proceedings into a steady and infectious groove. Nightdrivers appear to go up a gear as the EP progresses with the rippling drums and dynamic arrangements of 'La Ronde Suite (But Not For Me)' while 'Fast Cars' maintains the lively vibe of its predecessor and frenetically bubbles along over busy modulations, wacky intonations and infectious licks to dish up a suitably punchy close to this bouncy EP.

  4. Garrison (6:30)
Review: Is It Balearic? started the Uber sublabel up a few years ago, but 2017 has undoubtedly been the strongest year so far for the imprint. Following excellent stints from Serene, Wawawiwas and Bonnie & Klein, Max Manetti makes a debut appearance with a self-titled EP loaded with just the kind of slick, instrument-led island grooves we've come to expect from the Uber stamp. From the dense tropical trip of "Jungle Prayer" to the laconic guitar licks of "Dub Macumba", the cyclical mysticism of "Changuinola" on to "Garrison" with its considered piano chops and stiff breaks, this is an EP of proficient musicianship and eclectic funk for all manner of situations.

Review: D-Pulse trippy album "Consequenced" now got first portion of remixes from band's favorite producers. Ron Basejam of Crazy P delivers a straight-forward disco gem, while Harvey Sutherland goes minimal and atmospheric in his unexpectedly laid back remix. RJ being a one half of Durerstruben sends the original "Waltz on the run" back in 2000's on a summer cruise and D-Pulse's homie Sportloto pours some fuel into the Russian cosmic-disco scene rocket.

10 Years Of Jaunt: Sea (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: JR 007.1. Rel: 11 Dec 17
Deep House
  1. Hiver - "Itria"
  2. Artefakt - "Wanderings"
  3. Hinode - "Vision"
  4. Region - "Cosmic"
Review: Jaunt Records' 10 year celebrations are spanning a series of 12"s that feature a broad spectrum of artists searching for the ultimate deep techno fix. The four contenders that occupy this Sea release all have their own agenda, but they sit together perfectly. Hiver weaves illustrious pads in between nimble electro drums and bubbling acid bass, while Artefakt creates eerie, fractured acid meanderings to send a shiver down your spine. Hinode does some deft break choppage to create a dreamy trip for the up all night crew, and then Region rolls the record out on an emotive tip while keeping the rhythm section pumped up for the floor.

Techno
  1. Strayed
  2. Reccurent Weakness
  3. Ghost Caravan
  4. Reccurent Weakness (Borusiade remix)
Review: P-Balans continues to shed light on the more unusual underbelly of the Romanian scene, taking a few cues from the dominant minimal scene but adding plenty of analogue weirdness into the mix to provide a genuine alternative for those who like a little more spice in their sauce. On this release Khidja and Delusion Men team up for some off-kilter trips into subversive danceability, starting with the subtle, wavey acid of "Strayed" before cartwheeling into the spooky delights of "Recurrent Weakness". The ghoulish theme gets ramped up to 11 on "Ghost Caravan", where a deathly slow beat carries all kinds of undead synth work, and then Borusiade takes "Recurrent Weakness" to task with a pinging, plunging remix for the end of days.

  2. Downtown 500 (6:52)
  3. Riddim (6:47)
  4. Jam The Dance (6:53)
Review: Lost In Time has laid down some killer 12"s to date from the likes of Ralph Lawson and Tuccillo, and now they welcome London-based scene staple Alex Arnout to the label with an on-point EP of explorative house music variations. "No Borders" features long time US house veteran Jovonn, and the pair whip up a tracky tech house roller with serious percussive pressure and a subtle lick of dub in the mix. "Downtown 500" is a rough and tough, bashy house jam with a fresh drum palette, and by contrast "Riddim" brings a straight up deep house vibe with classic organ licks aplenty, that almost sound like they should be the handiwork of Jovonn as well. "Jam The Dance" finishes the EP off with a twitchy house cut peppered with vocal slices.

Soul
  1. 70s Theme
  2. Brother Beware
  3. Express Yourself
Review: Imogen have stumbled across a rare gem here, presenting some previously unheard liquid funk jams from the lesser known Chicago pioneer James Perri. Some of his jams as Jimi Polo are perennial classics, while his time spent in Soul II Soul and elsewhere are testament to his gifts, but this particular set of recordings from the 90s have lain in wait for their time to shine. You can hear his skills as a session musician and arranger coming through in abundance on this warm, grooving, acid jazz inflected EP. "70s Theme" is a sparse, moody jazz funk cut, while "Brother Beware" is a smooth, sultry slice of message soul. "Express Yourself" is the truly uplifting slice of the pie, and it will chime just fine with any lovers of that classic Soul II Soul sound.

Review: DX Recordings returns with a four tracker from Scott Fraser, folllowing on from the inaugural Dariana 12" earlier this year featuring a deep as hell remix from Chicago legend Mystic Bill. 3 different moods of analogue warmth starting off with "No Word Of Truth" a driving Detroit infused groove joining the dots across to Berlin's Basic Channel, with a Deep bassline, rattling tom's and shifting high hats. On B2 Mystic Bill takes the track deeper and darker, adding dubs, soaring vocals and tight percussion this is Mystic Bills trademark deepness at its best. Over on side B we start off with another Aslice of classic deep techno with a heady basslin. Thumping drums and driving strings keeping feet firmly on the danceloor, leaning heavily again towards Detroit a massive bassline rips in and the strobes come on . Finally on B2 another original remastered piece of deepness from the vaults finally see's a full release on vinyl. Simple, deep vibing house finding a loft space somehere that Metro Area were residing in 2000's New York.
