'Take Me As I Am' launches with hyper-speed breaks and ice-cold hi-hats before the lush and romantic 'Do 4 Love' soothes mind, body and soul. Review: We've all looked skyward for inspiration at some point and now it's the turn of Pittsburgh-based d&b producer Alpha Rhythm. Michael Gorman, to use his real name, deals in the kind of introspective, ethereal rollers that suit rainy day reflection as much as the deeper part of a dance, and he applies that style to the celestial bodies of our solar system to great effect. There are notable vocal spots from Leo Wood, Natus and Gemma Rose which only add to the heavy load of feels pouring out of this expansive long player dropping on Fokuz.

Review: There's no details on the identity about the "mystery artist" behind this brilliant EP on Fokuz Recordings, which may have something to do with the cheeky - but utterly brilliant - drum and bass rework of a Phylis Hyman disco classic nestling at the end of side two ("You Know How To"). While that has "future festival anthem" written all over it, there's plenty to set the pulse racing elsewhere on the EP, not least the string-laden poignance of liquid opener "Lovely" and the tougher, wobble bass-propelled goodness that is "Blue Wine". The EP's other cut, a scratch-happy fusion of modern R&B and classic D&B, is also rather good.

Review: An immaculate lesson in deepness from Fokuz mainstay Intelligent Manners: across four tracks the Russian talent excels in every direction. Opener "Numb" rolls out with a warm filtered pads that warp and weave with real subtlety, "Love Is Love" is all about the dark art of the sample and comes across like an early High Contrast cut, sultry vocal stepper "Everyday Is The Same" is the soundtrack to your next steamy session while the title track tracks a Rose Royce classic and flips the vibe entirely. "Motions" is all about the soothing chord sequence as we glide effortlessly one bar to the next while "Tatta Ganja" embraces the original jungle spirit with a classic drum set, a hooky bass melody and a series of soft skanks. Subtle, understated and sprung with soul, both "One Moment" and "Nothing Can Separate Us" tingle with emotive attention to detail. Review: A bona fide Dutch institution, Fokuz have repped the Netherlands in D&B since 1999. And they show no signs of stopping... This marks the start of six 12"s which will culminate in a massive double CD album later on this year. First up is current man-of-the-moment Lenzman who has found time during his album process to remix Command Strange's "Rock Steady". Twisting the emphasis on the pianos with a cool reverse technique that's complemented by arresting vocal samples, it's a case of true D&B beauty. Flip for Reds' "Meraki"; all flutes, keys and a sub bassline that seeps warmth and soul, it sums up the Fokuz spirit leaving no illusions to their clout, power and presence in the scene.

For their third in this sweet-15 series we're treated with two timeless, robust jams that surge deep into the D&B psyche. "Things", penned by founder Dreazz and Emery, comes with a loose jazzy swing and big filtered textures that are reminiscent of D&B's fertile chapters in the mid noughties. Reds' "Showtime", meanwhile, taps into the majesty of JB with a big funk hook that wouldn't have gone amiss on Hospital 15 years ago. Naturally both kill it. Birthdays have never been so banging.

Review: The 12" focus of Dreazz and Drum Origins ongoing efforts to celebrate Fokuz surpassing the 15 year mark reaches it's concluding part with Episode 2.3. and it's fair to say the dancefloor pressure has not relented across the six slabs! On the A Side, the Enei featuring title track from Intelligent Manners 2012 LP Midnight Runaway is given a dusting down by Drum & Bass all star Lynx with the rolling vibe of the original replaced by a fresh beat science focused approach that really shows it in a new light. On the flip Amaning & Dramatic come through with a superb roller that just demands some 1210 attention.

Review: Young Swiss producer Flowrian is a perfect fit for Dutch liquid D&B specialists Fokuz. To date, he's released very little, but what he has put out hints at great things to come. Here, he drops his debut album, Cinnamon Garden, a fearlessly atmospheric and delightfully melodic exploration of simmering liquid D&B and deep jungle. Of course, there are pleasing diversions - see the bustling junglisms of "River Train", the sweet downtempo grooves of "Road To Atlantis" and the hazy, cinematic hip-hop of "The Mammoths Migration" - but Flowrian is at his best when making intricate, melody-driven liquid grooves. Given that there are plenty on Cinammon Garden - see the beautiful, rough-edged "With Pleasure" and grandiose "The Happy Ending" - you'd have to say he's judged it just right.

Review: Long established for their international approach to repping all blends of the drum and bass spectrum, Dutch label Fokuz Recordings drop the final instalment of their two part 55 release. Fresh off releasing a killer six track EP for Liquid V, the prolific Mr Joseph teams up with another rising talent in Pennygiles to lead out this second plate with the soulful rolling business of "Give You My Heart". Smooth vibes, heavy delayed trumpet samples and organ cuts combine to demonstrate why the duo is so widely tipped. Face down Command Strange is in club mode on "Time Shift" pairing a deep bassline with a catchy lead hook and the sort of emotive stabs that remind the Juno office of Joy Orbison's classic "Hyph Mngo".

Review: Despite being only 20 years of age, Kazakhstani liquid funk maestro Command Strange has already built up a discography of well over 50 releases - including 12s on Hospital, Fokuz and Influenza. Say what you like, but the kid's got some work rate. Of course, this would mean nothing without skills and musical talent, but Command Strange has both in bundles. As a result, this second full-length - a follow-up to 2010's impressive debut album Soul Booster - is something of a delight. It mixes typically deep and cosmic concoctions (see the brilliant "Just Relax & Look At The Sky") with serious liquid rollers and occasional forays into straightforward downtempo territory ("Untitled"). If you like your D&B deep, liquid and musical, you should be all over it.
