Notes: Contour is a quad envelope generator. Each channel has looping, CV over attack and decay, as well as unique chaining capabilities. This is the third generation of Intellijel's much loved Korgasmatron filter designed in collaboration with David G. Dixon. The Morgasmatron features two completely independent six-mode filters (labelled "A" and "B") - each with its own mode-select knob, input, output, cutoff, resonance, Q-drive and gain control. Each filter has a pair of CV inputs (one with a built-in attenuator and the other with a built-in attenuverter) for modulating cut-off, and another CV input for modulating resonance. Both filters self-oscillate at maximum Q, and produce pitched sine waves that track the two separate 1V/OCT inputs.

You can use the two filters independently of one another, or you can use them together (in either a series or parallel connection) and smoothly crossfade between them using either the XFADE knob or the XFADE CV input and built-in attenuverter. You can flip the DRY switches to instantly bypass either or both filters; invert the phase of Filter B; or overdrive Filter A by switching on the new Overdrive circuit. A MIX output provides (as you might suspect) a mixed output of the two filters.

At its core is a powerful 32 step sequencer with two independent channels and an intuitive interface. What makes the Bloom come alive are its fractal algorithms which can transform existing sequences into powerful melodies, or even generate new patterns altogether. The base sequence is known as the Trunk and can be programmed by hand, or automatically generated with the Mutate function. Notes: XFMR VCA is an amplifier module in the Eurorack format. It is voltage-controlled, linear, and features op-amp and audio transformer output options, as well as saturation-clipping properties. It has a width of 18HP, and it can be used with all synthesizers and allows you to control the level of the sound (amplitude).

XFMR VCA has a 2-channel mixer. You can mix a channel that is not included in filtering in your patch or a sound such as osc, noise into the 2nd input of the VCA. The CV Offset knob sends a DC constant voltage to the VCA, allowing the VCA to remain permanently open and can be used without any CV input. The 0 point of the CV Offset knob is in the center. When you turn the knob to the right, it can add positive offset voltage and when you turn it to the left, it can add negative offset voltage. With the negative voltage, you can shift the offset of the CV signals, that is, the 0 point, in the desired direction by the desired amount. At the same time, moving the CV offset knob in the negative direction provides a great advantage in AM. When the CV Offset knob is wide open in the positive direction, the volume level will increase more and more with the voltages you add from the CV inputs. When the headroom is filled, the VCA will begin to saturate. This saturation is a particular favourite feature at Vaemi is quite musical. XFMR VCA has two CV inputs. The CV inputs and the VCA's response are completely linear. The VCA can open and close very quickly. It allows for more detailed use with fast and high-quality Envelope Generators. By default, when you input an Envelope Generator into the first CV input, you still have a 2nd CV input as an advantage. Here, you can input a 2nd Envelope Generator signal for various reasons such as LFO, Random CV signals, side-chain, and more.

The XFMR VCA includes an Input Mixer, VCA, Drive, EQ Input Gain, EQ, and two different outputs, such as the Op-Amp output (VCA Out) or the Transformer output (TR Out). When you exceed headroom in VCA, the core of the audio transformer will start saturating after saturation. At the end of the chain, there are attenuator knobs for the Op-amp and Transformer. The outputs have a maximum of +/-5V (10Vpp).

Preamplifiers used in studios are equipment that can raise microphone or line level signals smoothly, without altering the sound, and without adding noise. However, when recording analogue synthesizers, we don't aim to raise the output, rather we aim to lower it due to their high output levels. You can continue to use the high output levels in your synthesizer patch in any module you want, such as a filter or reverb module, by using it as a modular level. When you use it at a low output level, you can record to any AD Converter of your choice without a preamplifier in between.

The XFMR VCA has an EQ stage before the Transformer and Op-Amp. This EQ stage has an input Gain knob. The knob is at the 12 o'clock position, or the center point, when using the Op-Amp output. When using the Transformer output, the center point of the Gain is marked with a "T" letter. The EQ has 3 bands, and each band's frequencies can be increased or decreased in decibels. The bands are divided into Low, Mid, and High. The Low band boosts or cuts 150hz, the Mid band boosts or cuts 1Khz, and the High band boosts or cuts 8Khz, with a wide curve. When finalizing your patch, an EQ stage in your patches will provide great flexibility and in multi-channel patches will provide a cleaner sound.

XFMR VCA has a white LED on it, which shows the output and audio signal of the VCA.

In conclusion, XFMR VCA is AC Coupled and is designed for audio signals only. It is mostly used at the end of the chain as a VCA module. You can use it to add saturation, harmonics, and EQ to your patch when using sine wave and through zero FM techniques with Osi-Op. You can also use it for clean ranges if you prefer. This wide range will be the options you love and relax you.

In addition, XFMR VCA has an expander and can be expanded up to 3 channels. With the expander, you can have 2 more exponential VCA channels and use them for frequency modulation of oscillators or other various patches.

These new versions (from 2021 onwards) have a hole in the top and bottom face with a black / white plastic plug. This enables you to power extra cases passively without the need for a Strom Passive module. When you remove the plastic plug, you can feed a cable through the hole and directly connect busboards together.

This saves an extra 4HP of your precious modular synthesizer real estate.

Remarks:

As the LFO frequencies can go up to moderate audio range (~ 5kHz) even audio FM effects of VCO (pitch and pulsewidth), VCF and ADSR are possible !
If the VCO is turned off (waveform switch = center position, pulsewidth control = fully CCW) and the VCF resonance is set to maximum the module can be used as a sine oscillator. The sine can be modulated in a linear manner from the triangle wave of the VCO and by LFO2 in an exponential manner at the same time !
from the factory the socket labelled "LFO1" outputs the inverted LFO1 signal. But as the module has several internal pin headers available even another signal may appear at this socket by changing the internal module patch. These six pin headers are available: LFO1 output, LFO2 output, ADSR output, inverter input, inverter output, output socket. The internal default patch is LFO1 -> inverter input, inverter output -> output socket (i.e. socket = inverted LFO1). But even another signal can be patched to this socket (e.g. inverted ADSR, non-inverted LFO1, inverted or non-inverted LFO2). It is also possible to add a blind panel next to the A-111-5 with a couple of sockets that are connected to the corresponding pins of the A-111-5 pc board. The in- and outputs of the VCO, VCF and VCA are not available as pin headers because the VCO, VCF and VCA are internally connected in the circuit which is used in this module.

Notes: The SPIN section is a quadrature sine wave oscillator. The GRIND section compares each phase against the input signal, then subtracts the resulting square waves from the input signal. If the spin section is either damped enough or enough signal is fed into it from the GRIND section then it will stop oscillating and become a state variable filter.

The Angle Grinder tracks volts per octave and can be used as a sine wave oscillator with voltage control over harmonic content available at the GRIND OUT. With no input it's four phase related sine outputs (0, 90, 180, and 27 degrees) remain clean from 0.1Hz to over 20kHz and are suitable for quad panning or XY applications.

With an input signal applied the GRIND out ranges from quadrature pulse width modulation (at LFO rate) to sync-like metallic tones (at audio rate). When GRIND is fed into the SPIN then it becomes a nonlinear feedback network with the faders and corresponding CV inputs providing instinctive control over phase cancellation, oscillation, and distortion. The four phase related outputs will become low pass, band pass, high pass, and inverted band pass filter outputs.

The function of the Angle Grinder depends on both the position of the knobs and the presence of an input signal.

Its unique core adds character and color to any signal passed through it.

The LedPressor can be used as a normal compressor with low input levels, but as the input volume increases and the "nuke" LED lights up, it enters a new territory that combines compressor and overdrive, creating a dynamic overdrive effect.

Review: Undeniably one of the most prolific anime soundtracks of all time, Yoko Kanno's band SEATBELTS was formed just to record this 1998 OST for Shinichiro Watanabe's smash success 'Cowboy Bebop'. Following the adventures of the crew of Bebop, a bounty hunter ship that chases criminals and turns them into the Inter Solar System Police for reward, Kanno's zany fusion of rock, blues and jazz oozes cool. The opening track 'Tank!' has been hugely influential, informing innumerable title sequences, from 'Danganronpa' to 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'. Focusing, as the Japanese often do, on Americana hallmarks, there is a distinct New York slant in the horns with some Afro-Cuban percussive influences as well, most notably on 'Rush' from the first 'COWBOY BEBOP' album. This boxset serves as a comprehensive rundown of all things SEATBELTS, an 11-vinyl boxset featuring all 7 albums the band have made for the legendary franchise housed in a box with art from the show.

Notes: Chance is a unique modulation source that uses chance operations to create musical voltages. Inspired by John Cage's use of the Chinese divination text, I Ching, Chance generates random voltages in response to a digitally generated coin toss.

Notes: Most musicians use their feet as an extension of their playing, either pushing piano pedals, sustain pedals, guitar pedals.

However, feet have been underrated while using modulars. In the past ADDAC released a series of modules using sustain and expression pedals for triggering or controlling signals to help breaking the ice. While these are small and still useful for simple uses, ADDAC wanted to create something more specific this time.

This new solution features 5 footswitches and 5 inputs for external expression pedals with independent controls for each.

Notes: Belgrad is an all-analogue voltage controlled filter module which - on par with our other modules - brings something new to the table. While it can be used as a traditional VCF for "academic" subtractive synthesis, we guarantee countless hours of exciting timbral explorations thanks to its unique character, flexibility, and features. Notes: The Erica Synths Black Stereo Delay is a hi-fi stereo delay with a lot of unique features based on our custom DSP engine. Tape, BBD and digital delay emulations with three modes, each accompanied with delay time, feedback, feedback tone and stereo spread controls allow for designing extremely delicate effects. CV control over various parameters and the ability to save up to 10 presets will make this module an integral part of any performance rack. Delay effects are developed by Dutch company www.112db.com
