Rackmountable USB audio/MIDI interface with ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamps
Notes: The TASCAM US-16x08 captures 16 mic and line inputs to your computer with clear sound quality and advanced features to manage big sessions. Eight Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps deliver the cleanest and quietest operation in their class while delivering up to 56dB of gain. An additional eight line inputs are provided, two of them switchable to instrument level for direct guitar or bass recording. Eight balanced line outputs are also available, two with a level control on the front panel for monitoring.

Built into the US-16x08 is a DSP Mixer for low-latency digital mixing. Each channel has four-band EQ and compression for polished-sounding monitor mixes. In addition to interface mode, the US-16x08 can be used stand alone as a standalone mic preamp. Mac and Windows drivers are provided, as well as USB Class Compliant 2.0 drivers for tablets like Apple's iPad. MIDI input and output are also available on the rear panel.

Whether using the ergonomically-designed angled desktop stand or mounting with the included rack ears, the US-16x08 includes analog I/O for almost any music recording application.

TASCAM's own Ultra-HDDA mic preamps are the cleanest, quietest, and best-sounding from any interface in their range. A gain range of 56dB makes them ideal for any type of mic - dynamic, condenser, or ribbon. With preamp performance well beyond any interfaces in their price range, the Ultra-HDDA preamps on the US-16x08 makes your tracks sound like a record.

TASCAM's Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamp design is based on discrete components, just like classic professional gear. They achieve an incredible EIN rating of -125 dBu, meaning their noise level is practically below the range of hearing. Other impressive specs include a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB, out-speccing anything in its price range. But instead of judging the design merely by test measurments, key components were selected following extensive listening tests.

The first two channels can be switched to direct guitar inputs. They're ideal for direct recording of electric and acoustic guitar and bass without the need for a preamp. Use them with amp modeling software, like the TH2 effect included with SONAR X3. (Guitar effect plug-ins sold separately.)

The Ultra-HDDA mic preamps and line inputs offer 20dB of headroom for distortion-free recordings of percussive, high SPL instruments like drum tracks.

Eight XLR mic inputs and eight TRS inputs can be used simultaneously for 16-track live recordings. Capture every detail of live performances or rehearsals for later mixdown.

The eight XLR mic inputs have switchable +48V phantom power to use up to 8 condenser mics at the same time. The two front panel TRS line inputs are switchable between instrument level and line level input with adjustable gain. An additional six TRS line ins on the rear of the unit are switchable between -10dB and +4dB. All of the jacks support balanced or unbalanced 1/4" signals.

When powered on with out a USB connection, the US-16x08 functions as an 8-channel microphone preamp. Mics pass through the Ultra-HDDA preamps to the eight balanced line outputs on the rear panel. Use the interface to add additional high-quality mic inputs to a mixer an another audio interface.

Digital processing features like the DSP Monitor Mixer and advanced USB drivers make sessions with the US-16x08 comfortable for the musicians and engineer. The DSP Mixer includes processing for a polished-sounding headphone mix without latency delay from your DAW software, fueled by a Blackfin DSP processor. And new drivers, re-written from the ground up, provide beter compatibility and performance on Mac, Windows and iPad recording systems.

The converters and electronics on the US-16x08 allow you to record at audio resolutions up to 96kHz/24-bit for detailed acoustic productions. No matter what your session's sample rate is set for, the high-quality analog and digital design make your recordings sound their best.

The US-16x08 uses USB 2.0 to connect to your computer, found on nearly every computer manufactured in the last 10 years. Simply connect the interface to any available USB port. USB 2.0 provides plenty of data bandwidth, even when recording 16 channels at 96kHz/24-bit. The US-16x08 will also work with USB 3.0 jacks on your computer.

Powered by an Analog Devices BlackFin DSP processor, the US-16x08 includes an advanced digital mixer for monitor mixing. Each input includes 4-band EQ, a low-cut filer, and compressor. The DSP mixer can store up to 10 snapshots as scenes - making it easy to recall mixer settings. An additional tab opens a digital patchbay to route signals to any output.

The mic preamp delivers neutral coloration and pristine sound, with -20 dB pad and 48V phantom power for condenser mics. Programmable outputs provide flexible monitoring options.

The MicroBook IIc is an impressively small 5.5 by 3.6 by 1.25 inches, which means that it slides easily into your backpack - or a large pocket. It also sits nicely next to your laptop or desktop computer.

The MicroBook IIc has been engineered with MOTU's renowned, award-winning audio interface technology, which delivers the uncompromising audio quality and rock-solid performance MOTU interfaces are known for worldwide. You can always record and mix with confidence, even in the most demanding professional recording situations, knowing that decades of engineering experience are behind you, every step of the way. The MicroBook IIc delivers measured audio specs that rival interfaces costing hundreds more.

The MicroBook IIc can record and play all channels simultaneously, and high-speed USB 2.0 provides plenty of bandwidth, even at 96 kHz.

As the "c" in its name implies, the MicroBook IIc is USB audio class compliant. Use a standard camera connection kit cable (sold separately) to connect the MicroBook IIc to your iPad. Then record and monitor high-quality audio with your favorite iOS apps. Power the MicroBook IIc with the included Micro-USB cable and AC wall adapter.

The two digital rotary encoders not only look good, they feel good, too. Push the volume knob repeatedly to cycle among the main outs, headphones, or both, as indicated by the LEDs. For the mic input, adjust trim and toggle 48V phantom power or the -20 dB pad. Hands-on control is immediate and intuitive.

The MicroBook IIc is an 8-bus digital mixer that lets you mix live inputs with each other - with or without host software tracks. With CueMix FX running on your computer, you can create separate mixes of live audio from your mic, guitar, and keyboard, and send each mix to separate outputs (main out, line out, and phones out) or any combination of all three.

The MicroBook IIc aluminum alloy chassis is lightweight, yet incredibly sturdy and durable, and designed to withstand the rigors of the studio, stage, and tour bus. In a world awash with cheap plastic, the cool touch of the MicroBook IIc's metal exterior in your hands is a reassuring reminder that you are holding quality engineering and construction built to last.

The included CueMix FX software for Mac OS X and Windows gives you graphic, on-screen control of the MicroBook IIc's on-board audio mixer, with up to four separate stereo mixes (a separate mix for each output pair). For example, you can mix all the inputs to the main outs, but also mix them to the line outs with completely different levels than the main outs. Advanced features include a tuner, oscilloscope, FFT/spectrogram, and phase analysis tools.

The MicroBook IIc includes AudioDesk, the workstation software for Mac OS X and Windows (10, 8 and 7), which provides advanced recording, editing, mixing, processing, and mastering. AudioDesk delivers the power of modern digital audio workstation technology in an easy-to-use, inspiring multitrack recording experience. Together, AudioDesk and the MicroBook IIc transform your computer desktop into a complete, professional recording studio.

A compact and versatile audio recorder, interface, controller & sampler in one unit
Notes: Zoom takes the turbocharged design of the R24 and scales it down for an ultra-portable music production solution. Like its predecessor, the R8 combines four production tools in one versatile device. In addition to being an 8-track recorder that utilizes SD memory, the R8 is an audio interface, a control surface and a pad sampler.

With the ability to record two tracks simultaneously, the R8 is perfect for capturing audio on-the-go. Record live music performances, rehearsals, songwriting sessions or even audio for film and video. Capture your audio at up to 24-bit/48kHz resolution as WAV files. On each of its side panels, the R8 features a built-in stereo condenser microphone for field recording or quick, convenient "sketch-pad" ideas. When you're ready, you can use over 140 built-in studio effects to enhance your tracks and the pro-quality mastering effects to ensure that studio sound.

The R8 is more than a multi-track recorder. When combined with your compute, it becomes a powerful audio interface. Connect the R8 to your computer via USB, launch your favoriteDAW or use the included Cubase LE software and start laying down your tracks. Simultaneous 2-in/2-out capability allows you to record up to 24-bit/96kHz high-definition audio. If you use the 44.1kHz sampling rate, the internal DSP effects of the R8 are also available for your computer tracks. A dedicated control lets you adjust the mixing balance between the DAW playback sound and the direct sound for monitoring.

Computers bring incredible control and power to the recording process, but they're not very intuitive when it comes to mixing. Through a simple USB connection, you can control the transport and mixing functions of major DAWs such as Cubase, Logic, and Sonar from the R8. No more mixing with a mouse! The R8 makes mixing a pleasure.

The R8's sampler function consists of eight voices triggered by eight built-in pads. Samples can also be assigned to each pad to create loops. It also has internal drum loops, which allow you to easily create pro-quality backing and basic tracks. Not only does the R8 offer over 500 drum patterns to work with, it also includes a 2GB SD card containing 500MB of drum loops recorded by Big Fish Audio.

Best of all, the R8 will operate on four standard AA alkaline batteries (not included) for over five hours of continuous use. In addition, the R8 comes with a 2GB SD card and supports up to 32GB SDHC cards for a maximum of 100 track hours. Using SD media for recording not only makes the R8 lighter and more portable, it also ensures increased reliability with no concern for hard drive failure. The R8 can also function under USB bus power or with the included AC adapter.

With the new R8 from Zoom, versatility, control and comprehensive features come together in a single device that fits in a guitar case.

Thunderbolt 2 in/2 out audio/MIDI interface with ultra-low latency audio streaming, bus powered
Notes: The compact, rugged TAC-2R audio interface uses the latest Thunderbolt technology for blazingly fast speed, near zero latency and the ultimate in high-quality audio, up to 24-bit/192kHz. With its easy-to-use design and advanced converters, the TAC-2R is perfect for studio and field recording of mics and instruments, onstage playback, and pristine audio streaming. It can even serve as an ultra-stable MIDI interface.

Take your performance to the next level. Use the TAC-2R onstage to get the best sound quality from your laptop. With its Thunderbolt speed, high quality converters, and rugged chassis, you can trust the TAC-2R to deliver superior audio night after night.

Enhance the audio you enjoy everyday. Plug your headphones or speakers into the TAC-2R instead of your computer's audio outputs and enjoy streamed high-resolution audio - all the way up to 24-bit/192kHz - in full fidelity.

The TAC-2R gives you all the tools you need to create great audio. Flexible routing options allow you to use a variety of microphones and instruments, with high-quality preamps to ensure crystal clear sound. There's even Direct Monitoring for zero latency overdubbing.

The TAC-2R serves as an ultra-stable MIDI interface too, allowing you to use your electronic keyboards and controllers as well as sound generating devices such as synthesizers and drum machines. The extreme speed and low latency of Thunderbolt ensure that your audio and MIDI tracks line up perfectly, every time.

More than twice as fast as USB 3.0 - not to mention twenty times faster than USB 2.0 and twelve times faster than Firewire 800 - Thunderbolt is the interconnection technology of the future. Co-developed by Apple and Intel Labs, it allows signal to be transferred at an incredibly fast 10 gigabits per second, which means virtually no latency. Thunderbolt interfaces such as the TAC-2R are also unaffected by computer jitter (slight variations in timing), so there's no need to connect an external master clock source.

In addition, Thunderbolt carries 10 watts/18 volts of power (as compared to the 2.5 watts/ 5 volts carried by USB 2.0) - enough to provide stable phantom power. This also allows the use of high-end components such as the Burr Brown PCM4202 analog-to-digital converter and AKM AK4396 digital-to-analog converter in the TAC-2R.

The TAC-2R performs 4-times upsampling during both analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion. In other words, when the sampling frequency is set to 44.1kHz or 48kHz, the TAC-2R processes the signal at high resolution 176.4kHz or 192kHz. For A/D conversion, this means less aliasing noise; for D/A conversion, this means increased clarity and fidelity.

The Thunderbolt port on the rear panel carries digital signal to and from your computer as well as carrying power to the TAC-2R - no external power required. Dual front panel combo XLR/TRS inputs allow you to connect a wide variety of microphones as well as line-level signals from electric keyboards and music playersieven passive instruments such as electric guitars and basses.

Dual balanced TRS output jacks enable you to connect the TAC-2R to amplifiers or self-powered speakers, and there's an independent 1/4" stereo headphone jack with dedicated volume control for private monitoring of the input or output signal. In addition, MIDI In and Out is provided to allow precise synchronization with devices such as electric keyboards and drum machines.

Dedicated input gain controls and Clip LEDs make it easy to set optimum input levels, and a large Output knob enables fast control overall output level. A phantom power switch applies +48 volts to the mic inputs, allowing you to use the TAC-2R with studio-quality condenser microphones, and a three-way Direct Monitoring switch enables monitoring of input signal with zero latency in both mono and stereo.

TAC-2 MixEfx is a free Macintosh application designed specially by Zoom for the TAC-2R. With TAC-2 MixEfx, you can set mix parameters and add high-quality effects such as reverb and echo. Other features include a low cut filter, phase reverse, AUTO GAIN control for each input. There's also a LOOPBACK function that allows you to blend the input signal and playback signal for zero latency. TAC-2 MixEfx even has three memory slots for saving user settings with quick recall.

Powerful 10x10 user-configurable MIDI interface with multi-computer connectivity
Notes: If you need incredible MIDI control at the heart of your music production rig, then the iConnectivity mio10 10 x 10 MIDI interface is a total must-have. A staggering 10 x 10 discrete MIDI I/O matrix (all on traditional 5-pin connectors) is only the beginning of the mio10. Not only can you connect two computers to the mio10 via USB, it's also fully Ethernet MIDI compatible, allowing you to share its 48 MIDI channels among up to six computers. On the flip side, fully software-programmable onboard MIDI routing, filtering, and merging make complex setups easy, and once you program the mio10, you can use it as a standalone MIDI router for computer-free performance.

Multi-computer connectivity supports complex setups:

If your dream MIDI rig includes connecting multiple computers, then iConnectivity makes the MIDI interface you need. Even this simple 2 x 2 mio10 MIDI interface includes support and connections for up to two computers at once. That means you can easily access two computers' worth of virtual instruments and sequencing, providing you with an impressive amount of creative power. What's more, the mio10 fully supports Ethernet MIDI, so you can connect up to six computers to it via Wi-Fi or network cables.

Standalone operation for mobile MIDI management:

While MIDI itself hasn't changed in the past 30+ years, its role in music production certainly has. Once there were dozens of standalone MIDI routers on the market, but modern MIDI gurus in need of computer-free hardware aren't exactly spoiled for choice. That's why the synth and sequencing nuts here at Sweetwater are so excited about iConnectivity's mio series. Use the dedicated configuration application on your Mac or Windows PC to set up routing and other functions, and everything will still be set up when you use your mio10 without your computer. It's that simple!

Includes in-device MIDI merging, filtering, and processing:

One of the things that makes the mio10 (and other mio MIDI interfaces) so flexible is that it includes a comprehensive set of onboard functions that operate completely independently of any associated software. These functions include MIDI merge, MIDI filtering, and more. And since the mio10 can operate in standalone mode, you can program it from your computer and run your entire synth rig without a computer in sight.
