Notes: 'Akemie's Castle' is a dual voltage controlled oscillator with authentic 4 Operator digital FM using 'new-old-stock' Yamaha IC's for audio signal generation.

Each of the 4 operators feature independent waveform selection, frequency multiplier and level control via direct panel operation and voltage control. Operators can be combined in various ways across both oscillators, which together with independent feedback control on each VCO, offer an extremely wide palette of sounds.

Oscillator A also features a chord mode providing a range of up to 5 voice chords and voltage controlled inversion.

Notes: 'MUM M8' is an 8hp Eurorack low pass filter building on the filter design used in the classic Akai S950 12 bit sampler with the addition of resonance, voltage control, clipped saturation and a dedicated VCA.

The low pass filter gives the recognisable super smooth vacuum like tone sucking sound which works magic on complex sources. The addition of clipped overdrive and intentionally aggressive self-oscillating resonance compliment the smooth filter core by juxtaposing it into more wasp like territory with acidic squeals and a more gritty sound.
Mum M8 features dual voltage control with attenuation (and inversion) of filter cut off and voltage control of resonance together with dual audio inputs - one of which includes a VCA to with the capability to aid overdriving signals into the filter core.

The filter core is a 6th Order Butterworth switched capacitor type design featuring an analog core but controlled by a high speed digital clock. This produces the characteristic smooth sounding filter but, as with the original S950, has a relatively high minimum cut off as to avoid 'clock bleed' into the filter output from the digital control. This minimum cut of point (and introduction of bleed if required) can be controlled via trimmers on the rear of the module (see calibration chapter). It is not unusual for there still to be some low-level artefacts from the clock present, particularly during filter sweeps - these add to the filters character.

The motivation for the module came from discussing filters in classic samplers with the artist Jack Adams - aka Mumdance. Jack suggested investigating the S950's filter well known as for it use in classic use in early jungle and hardcore. From that point onward Jack provided inspiration, help and feedback in the development of the filter. Big up Mumdance.

'Akemie's Taiko' is an authentic complete FM synthesis based drum voice created using original Yamaha IC's. It builds on the same technology used in the mighty Akemie's Castle but in a more complete triggered voice form featuring both signal generation and envelope shaping.

The module provides CV and direct control over a number of FM parameters including algorithm selection, operator release envelopes, ratios, waveforms & feedback. This gives a massive range of unique sounds.

The voice is able to track 1 volt per octave allowing it to be used for melodic lines as well as percussion. Also optional 'frequency ramps' can be enabled for additional audio effects.

The drum voice includes a trigger input as well as accent and choke trigger inputs to add further expressive and rhythmic control.

Notes: Two control sections provide a sweepable cut or boost to a selectable upper and lower frequency band. The module has two ac-coupled audio inputs, one of which has an attenuation control for basic mixing, and a single audio output.

The 'PE-1' is inspired by the EQ circuits used in early 'Portastudio' type 4 track tape mixers. Warm up a digital source, fine control a live performance, extend a mixer, tweak a feedback loop - there are many uses for this great sounding EQ.

ALM034-EX

PPEXP1 & PPEXP2 are two expander modules for Pamela's PRO Workout that both offer additional dedicated fixed clock, Din Sync & MIDI clock outputs.

Extend Pam as a master to clock external gear with super solid dedicated MIDI & Din Sync clock outputs. The Din Sync clock (x24) and Run outputs can also be patched into a 2nd Pam to easily sync it.

Use the extra fixed clocked gate outputs to free up Pam's main outputs for unique sequencing or complex modulation duties.

Connects directly to and is powered by the 'MIDI-EX' expander header on rear of Pamela's PRO Workout.

Only a single output expander is supported at any time but either can be used alongside an AXON-1 CV input expander.

The 'Quaid Megaslope' is a five stage function generator or modulator which operates in one of 3 modes; a multistage 'CZ' or 'Juno' style complex envelope, a super flexible LFO and a step sequencer with per step programmable slew or slides.

Each mode produces a varying output voltage moving from point to point across a set number of chained together stages. Each stage features a destination level, an overall rate or time to reach its destination level and a variable slope for the output path to take. As well as direct control, every stage feature voltage control of both level and rate. There are both unipolar and bipolar voltage outputs together with triggers emitted for the end of each stage and the end of a full cycle.

The Quaid Megaslope is designed to be fun, flexible and intuitive to use.

The BXx2 is a dual channel preamp, EQ and mixer based on the classic Boss BX series mixers. With the inclusion of both input gain and level controls, each channel can be overdriven, producing the signature saturated and lively sound the BX mixers are known for. The EQ controls provide the channels with simple but great sounding high and low shelf EQs for emphasising and shaping sounds and an additional 'Aux' input allows another mixer or extra sound source to be chained in.

Input gain controls

Sets the input gain of the channel preamp. Higher settings will cause source to overdrive the channel.

Inputs

In 1 - Input to channel 1 of the mixer.

In 2 - Input to channel 2 of the mixer.

Aux - Auxillary mix input for chaining with another mixer or extra source.

Fixed gain (-6dB).

EQ High

Sets the gain of the fixed high shelf EQ. Boosts high frequencies when set above 12 o'clock and cuts when set below.

EQ Low

Sets the gain of the fixed low shelf EQ. Boosts low frequencies when set above 12 o'clock and cuts when set below.

Level

Sets the channel level in the mix. Use level controls to trim back volume when overdriving the preamp.

Audio output producing the mix of the 3 inputs.

Notes: The MCFx2 is ALM's state variable 'MCF' filter made double. It features 2 identical classic analog 3 pole state variable filter cores each with Low, High and Band Pass (or Notch) outputs. Direct and voltage control is provided for both filter cut offs and resonance. Switches allow the filters to function as one, with the 'Feed' switch internally routing audio from one filter to the other in series and the 'Link' switch linking the cut off controls for both filter cores. MCFx2 expands on the great sounding MCF filter to offer both serial and parallel functionality for stereo operation, dual peak, tighter slopes and other complex filtering set ups.

FREQUENCY CONTROLS
Sets the base frequency for the filter cut offs. The v/oct and frequency inputs are added to these.

RESONANCE CONTROL
Sets the level of resonant peaks atop the cut off frequencies. The resonance can get particularly aggressive going into self oscillation with the control past 12 o'clock.

OUTPUTS
Each filter output is 3 pole with an 18dB/oct slope.
Low - low pass filter outputs. Passes frequencies below the cut off.
High - high pass filter outputs. Passes frequencies above the cut off.
BP/Notch - band pass or notch filter outputs. Jumpers on the rear of the module select one or the other for each filter.
Passes frequencies within (BP) or outside (Notch) a narrow region around cut off frequency.

LINK BUTTON
Links the left cut off to parallel control both filters. The right controls will now set the max range of the right core. Both filters will track together when the right cut off is fully clockwise.

FEED BUTTON
Routes the output of the left filter core to the input of the right (unless patched), with the desired output filter type selected via jumper at the rear of the module.

FREQ INPUTS AND ATTENUATORS
Control voltage inputs here are combined with knob offsets to set the final cut off. Attenuversion control allows for both attenuation and inversion of the CV. Expects approx. -5V - 5V input.

RES INPUTS AND ATTENUATORS
Attenuated control voltage inputs here are combined with knob offsets to set the final resonance.

Notes: The 'MEGA-TANG' is a 4-channel linear VCA and stereo mixer providing per input control over level, effect send, pan and muting. Designed for live use in mind with a simple & compact layout, the 'MEGA-TANG' builds on the clean and transparent sounding Tangle Quartet VCA by adding a stereo mix output, effect sends (mono send with a stereo return) which pair great with the MFX, manual panning, soft mute buttons with LED indicators and an expansion port for future expandability.

Individual VCA outputs are available which remove the channel from the main mix (useful for cueing and monitoring). All signals are Euro level and bar the effects return, DC coupled for CV use as well as audio.

The ASQ-1 is a multi mode Eurorack sequencer. It can simultaneously sequence two CV/GATE and four trigger patterns, as well as perform synchronised quantisation of an external CV signal. Programming of all patterns is performed using familiar classic paradigms - SH101 style step-time note entry and classic drum machine pattern editing - with satisfying mechanical computer style keys.

PPEXP1 & PPEXP2 are two expander modules for Pamela's PRO Workout that both offer additional dedicated fixed clock, Din Sync & MIDI clock outputs.

Extend Pam as a master to clock external gear with super solid dedicated MIDI & Din Sync clock outputs. The Din Sync clock (x24) and Run outputs can also be patched into a 2nd Pam to easily sync it.

Use the extra fixed clocked gate outputs to free up Pam's main outputs for unique sequencing or complex modulation duties.

Connects directly to and is powered by the 'MIDI-EX' expander header on rear of Pamela's PRO Workout.

Only a single output expander is supported at any time but either can be used alongside an AXON-1 CV input expander.

A MIDI adapter cable and a Din Sync adapter cable are both available for connecting to 5 pin 'Din' type connectors. The PPEXP 1 includes a MIDI Din adapter cable.

Notes: Boss Bow Two is an 8 way bidirectional voltage controlled switch with 3 different control modes: address, strobe, and step. Each control mode uniquely routes signals from an input 'I/O' to an output 'I/O'. Address mode allows for instant routing manually via the offset or external control voltage, step mode sequentially advances I/O following signal at the clock input and the strobe mode combines the two, holding the addressed position until the next clock pulse.

The reset input allows for master on off switching in address and strobe modes and traditional sequencer style 'reset' in step mode. The control input features both an attenuverter and offset to precisely select which of the 8 I/O's are available to be 'switched' in address and strobe modes and sets the direction of travel in step mode.

As it is bidirectional, audio or CV can be routed from 1 of up to 8 inputs to a single output or a single input to 1 of up to 8 outputs. The unique features and flexibility of the 'BB2' allow for a wide range of potential patches to be created.
