Stargazer (Highway mix) (6:12)
Wired Nag (5:59)
The Deep Cosmo (6:28)
Curved Space (6:06)
Review: Donnie Cosmo kicks off the all new Circa Groove label with four pumping tech house cuts that worm their way to the heart of the dance floor as well as deep into your affections. There is a heavy spaced out vibe to these tunes starting with 'Stargazer' (Highway Mix) which indeed feels like a cruise through the stars with bulbous bass and fat drums. 'Wired Nag' is just as much of an intergalactic journey with neon synths leaving wispy tails in their wave over rubbery and pumping drums. 'The Deep Cosmo' is more heads down and pensive then 'Curved Space' layers up some celestial melodies.

Lost Inside This Sound
Backs To Scream
Time Is Flying
Space Odyssey
Review: Sascha Dive, the German DJ and producer, has firmly established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene. His signature style, a blend of techno and tech house, has earned him a dedicated fanbase and accolades from industry peers. 'Lost Inside This Sound' captivates with its evolving melody and infectious house groove. 'Backs To Scream' showcases a deeper, more introspective side, with a hypnotic bassline that sets the dancefloor ablaze. 'Time Is Flying' evokes a sense of euphoria with its bouncy rhythm and soaring chords. Finally, 'Space Odyssey' transports listeners to a cosmic realm with its ethereal soundscape. His ability to create tracks that are both dancefloor-friendly and sonically captivating solidifies his reputation as a master of the craft.

Theme For What
Geek Groove Odyssey
Out Of Mood
Review: Pressure Traxx secures the sounds of acclaimed minimal master and Romanian mainstay Dan Andrei on this fine new 12", Clockworks. The title track opens up and is coarse and rich in texture, with slapping hits taking centre stage while languid guitars slowly garner your attention. 'Theme For What' is another unusual one, this time with trippy melodies and tumbling drum loops, while 'Geek Groove Odyssey' layers up pulsing bass and bleeping sonar synths into a serene cosmic trip. 'Out Of Mood' is another tense tech cut with edgy synths keeping you in suspense as the dark drums march on.

Chapter 2 (reissue)

Odyssey (4:08)
Arrival (dub version) (4:51)
Resurgan (4:55)
Masochist Trip (6:01)
Review: Revelation was a short-lived New York City-based house pairing that should not be confused with the 70s soul and disco group. They crafted just three EPs and the Atmosphere label is reissuing them having started with 'First power' back in January. Chapter 2 features four more brilliantly futuristic techno cuts, with 'Odyssey' going first. It's got bubbling synth lines and steely, shimmering drums with a high-tech soul feel. 'Arrival' then has more gurgling cosmic waves and clanking hits looping back and forth before 'Resurgan' explores a floating gore that glides through the cosmos with serene pad work for company. 'Masochist Trip' closes with some crisp breakbeats.

All Of Us Catch Hell (5:54)
Realization (6:24)
Inner Odyssey (8:39)
Peace (6:25)
Review: Anyone of a certain age will hear 'Rickie' and think 'Biancaaaa' and there is certainly an East-end of London/Fuse/93 Feet East vibe to these tech house gems on Overground. 'All Of Us Catch Hell' is dubby, deft, subtle in its slinky and infectious grooves as it reminds of early Craig Richards and Tyrant work. 'Realization' then gets loose on a nice spangled bassline and off-balance drums that keep you on your toes while 'Inner Odyssey' has a nice tripped-out vibe and mellifluous keys that rain down from above. 'Peace' closes with some superb 909 drum action and plenty of cosmic rays of colour.

Tone Dropout Vol 11
Cat: TD 11. Rel: 21 Mar 23

Minimal/Tech House
Sween & Alphonse - "Downfall" (Epic mix) (7:28)
XOTR - "Odyssey T3D" (5:52)
Sam Padden - "Teslas Still Alive" (6:07)
Kostas G - "Spectrum" (7:24)
Review: When it comes to excitable club fodder rooted in club sounds of the late 80s and 90s, the Tone Dropout crew consistently delivers the goods. They're at it again on their 11th multi-artist extravaganza, which giddily sprints between acid-fired breakbeat house with glassy-eyed melodic motifs and spacey bleeps (Sween and Alphonse hook-up 'Downfall'), trancey early progressive house revivalism ('Odyssey T3D' by XOTR), intergalactic electro-bleep fusion (the punchy, Kraftwerk-on-pills excellence of Samuel Padden's 'Teslas Still Alive') and classy bleep and breaks nostalgia (Kostas G's pleasingly sub-heavy, funk break-driven 'Spectrum').

Odyssey (5:24)
Review: Following up great efforts by the likes of Van Bonn & Luis Baltes, Unknown and Shadow-Area, here is the debut LP from Hamburg's Achim Maerz on Berlin-based Freund der Familie. Relief features a wide selections of moods and grooves; from the cavernous and glacial deep house of 'Black Hole', the contemplative ambient journey of 'Dream', plus there's more deepness of the emotive variety offered up on 'Changing Weather', the understated late night mood of 'Memories' and the mesmerising closer 'On The Way' awash in dazzling layers of rich synth tones in the vein of classic Chicago sounds. Mastering by Sven Weisemann.

Urban Chronicles EP
Urban Chronicles EP (180 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: AMP 025. Rel: 22 Nov 23

Minimal/Tech House
Synth City (7:39)
Dreamworx (6:44)
Parallel Pulses (6:44)
Fabricated Odyssey (5:47)
Review: SIT returns to Amphia with a new release; 'Urban Chronicles' is comprised of four tracks, each with its own distinctive sound reminiscent of early techno and house, especially their dreamier sides. The A launches in full swing with 'Synth City', a colorful, groovy tune, where in which vocal elements and airy synth lines blend together seamlessly. 'Dreamworx' continues in much the same fashion, adding an introspective counterpoint; finally, 'Parallel Pulses' and 'Fabricated Odyssey' make up the B-side, coming quirky and syncopated, with heavy bass lines and lively percussions. More than any other release from the catalogue, Amphia 025 is an exploration of pure instinct and emotion.
