A predominant Afro theme presides throughout as we're massaged by the kwaito smoothness of "Avidiyo" where synth marimbas ignite instant Balearic feels, Yanga Mbiwaa struts with much more of direct Nigerian disco funk feel with its big sing-along chorus and strong sense of drive. Finally "Autoradio" provides a more contemporary almost Italo-like take on Afrofunk with some expert trippiness buried deep in the synths and arrangement. Tune in.

Review: Parisian party-starters Les Yeux Orange have served up some of the edit scene's most sensational reworks of recent times. They're at it again on their latest EP, which is hotter than a car bonnet after a day in the baking sun. Opener "Africa", is a thrusting mid-1980s affair that smothers a throbbing, arpeggio-driven groove in breathy synth-flute motifs, ricocheting drum machine hits and choice vocal cuts. They continue on a similar vein on "Samurai", a bustling re-edit of a mid 1980s French tune that's as Balearic as hanging out at Amnesia while wearing paisley shirts and baggy dungarees. Best of all though is "Midnight", a deliciously camp and sleazy affair rich in dirty arpeggio bass, over-the-top synth motifs and gravel-voiced male spoken word vocals.

Review: Good Plus chiefs Les Yeux Orange return to action with another limited-edition chunk of mind-altering re-edit goodness. There's something particularly insipriing about A-side "Amentas Cosmicos", a brilliantly trippy and dancefloor-friendly rework of Sylvia Love's "Extraterrestrial Lover" which switches from a cosmic jazz-funk groover, to a grandiose space disco monster midway through. Flip for thebheavily percussive, synth-laden Latin disco thrills of "Pacifico", and the rather odd - but very good - post-punk disco madness of "The Sharm Al-Shayk". The latter's looseness is particularly alluring, and in sharp contrast to the slick sounds on offer elsewhere.

Review: Montreal men Edouard Le and Francis Latreille (co-founder of NAFF alongside Ex-Terrestrial) have previously proved their mettle with two rock solid EPs under the M.S.L alias. Here they deliver EP number three, a suitably varied, electro-focused four-tracker for Parisian imprint Les Yeux Orange. For peak-time plays, we'd suggest plumping for the arpeggio-driven punch of deep space workout "Triennale", though cultured clubbers will also respond enthusiastically to the rolling deep electro shuffle of superb EP opener "Periphery". The Canadian twosome opts for some more laidback sounds on side two, where the chugging electro/Italo-disco throb of "Enterprise" is quickly followed by the languid chords, ambient techno electronics and pitched-down electro beats of "Careful, Thinking Could Become a Habit".

Review: This is some package for electro lovers. The remixes alone are big names who never fail to innovate and come through with the goods. Let's start with them: Legowelt is the Dutch wizard who flips 'Computer Monkey' into something with wispy melodies daring about the mix jacked analogue drums with the spacey vocals adding sci-fi vibes. The legendary DMX also remixes and for his part turns 'Computer Monkey' into an unrelenting and shimmering workout. The original from Captain Moustache featuring The Advent is not too shabby either. It's a crisp electro kicker with bright chords, pixelated arps and frosted bass to get you moving.

Review: Comprised of Polish duo Kruczynski and Brocki, Earth Trax & Newborn Jr. return after some dope deep house recently for Rhythm Section Int'l. For Les Yeux Orange, here they deliver four sublime cuts on the dusty and retro tip. Starting off with the chunky, squelchy analogue grit of "Hypnosis" which does exactly what it says on the tin with its roaring/delay drenched basslines and spangling FM tones. Next up "Mirage" is like a much more lo-fi version of MCDE and Marcus Worgull's ambient balearica as Vermont. The sun bleached vibes continue on the flip, with the somewhat Sueno Latino sounding "Just In Time" by Newborn Jr until we are treated to one more gorgeous and evocative dancefloor experiment in the form of "Nemesis" by Earth Trax: who also flies solo for this offering. Following up some stellar releases by Wav Fuzz and n.stal, this Parisian label is off to a flying start and we're keen to hear what they have in store for us next!

Review: Since debuting back in 2013, Ringard (AKA Rennes-based producer Baptiste Leterte) has never strayed beyond the confines of his Dance Around 88 label. Until now, that is. Here, he pitches up on Parisian imprint Les Yeux Orange with a wonderfully deep and spaced-out EP. Interestingly, each of the four tracks comes blessed with oodles of intergalactic atmosphere, with drifting chords, pads and gentle melodies seemingly floating above incessant drum machine rhythms. This fusion is best regarded on opener "Lacrima Rossa", though the dreamier and more distorted "MSH" is almost as impressive. Also worth checking is slo-mo closer "Les Balearak", a pitched-down deep house number inspired by the White Isle that's more heart-breaking than Balearic.

Review: After a debut LP on cassette format back in 2014 for Occult Research, Portland's Wav Fuzz has been largely dormant. This new EP for the freshly launched label by French editorial platform Les Yeux Orange is a fine comeback from the leftfield house producer, and each one of these four cuts are more fresh and evocative than the next. "Cold Fresh Air" produces a docile yet hummable rhythm, "Bahia Morphine" is a gentle, balearic-tinged house warmer, "The Euphoric Six" on the flip moves us closer and deeper into the dancefloor, and "Way Down To Psili Ammos" leaves us a with a pensive, ethereal taste that's just perfect for the summer months.
