Review: Kaytramine is Kaytarnda and Amine and the accomplished pair reignite their collaborative studio magic on this superb new album. It spans nearly a decade with the original of this record going all the way back to 2014 when Amine dropped an unofficial remix of Kaytaranda's 2013 track 'At All.' So impressed was he that her reached out with an offer to work together. Collabs followed on Amine's 2015 mixtape, Calling Brio, and now comes their strongest statement yet across the two sides of transparent blue vinyl presented here.

Review: A welcome return to the compilation arena from Luke Una, whose deep record collection and pleasingly open-minded record collection make him a perfect curator. E Soul Cultura has a concept of sorts - the kind of vaguely Balearic but not genre-bound jams that the Sheffield-born, Manchester-based DJ would play to fellow E'd-up party survivors at 5am - but it's the quality of the music on offer that makes the compilation so essential. For proof, check the spiritual space disco shuffle of King Errison's 'Space Queen', the deliciously sub-heavy, post-bleep deep house soul of Sheffield outfit On's cover of 'Southern Freeez', the bruk-up soul of Type Sun's 'The PL', the Brazilian sunshine of Robson Jorge and Lincoln Olivetti's 'Eva' and the deliciously percussive, intergalactic jazz-funk vibes of 'Every Time I See Him' by Metropolis.

Review: Legendary turntablist and acclaimed beat maker DJ Yoda is back with a new album Prom Nite this month. Just before the full-length drops comes this single from it on essential 7". It follows on from the well-received 'Feel Like Home' 45rpm last month and this time offers more well-conceived and carefully sought-out fusions. The a-side 'My Energy' features Eva Lazarus. It is a lovely soulful slow jam that has a breakup melancholy to it and lovely doo-wop vibes. Completing this package is the flip side 'Lesson 1956' (feat Jamie Cullum & DJ Woody) which is another great revisiting of Americana.

Review: It's the anime that changed the format forever, from storytelling to character design - Neon Genesis Evangelion is still, to this day, one of the most beloved, divisive and iconic animated series of all time. From influencing 'Madoka Magicka', 'Serial Experiments Lain' or 'Kill La Kill' to its resurgence in popularity thanks to social media and the infinite memes that the show continues to spawn off almost 30 years later. Many will know 'Cruel Angels Thesis' and the bossa nova cover of 'Fly Me to the Moon' performed by J-Pop singer Yoko Takahashi, which are used as the intro and credit sequence songs, but don't neglect the electrifying orchestral composition from Shiro SAGISU that backsets the action sequences. This is the first time the full OST is pressed on vinyl. It comes in a beautiful gatefold featuring frames from the show inside, housed on black and blue vinyl to reflect the colour palette of this hugely influential show.

Review: When Eskimo first invited New York-born, Berlin-based Curses to compile Next Wave Acid Punx, they might not have known what they were letting themselves in for. As we reach part Deux, there's no doubt they signed up to sift through a staggering volume of EBM, industrial, minimal wave and electro from the darker side of the dancefloor. Taking in 49 tracks in total, this authoritative collection spreads across three CDs and features old legends like Throbbing Gristle alongside newer wave sonic deviants like The Hacker, with so much more ground covered in between. Consider this monumental compilation a homing beacon for all creatures of the night.

Review: The concept behind Luke Una's first solo compilation as a selector may be a little bit fuzzy - fundamentally, it's music for watching sunrises and feeling spaced out after a night on the tiles - but the music he's decided to showcase is uniformly fantastic. In-keeping with his famously eclectic approach to music, the 13 tracks on E-Soul Cultura include forays into spiritual jazz (Chene Noir), luscious Brazilian sunshine music (Robson Jorge & Lincoln Olivetti), acid-jazz-goes-deep house (Brand New Heavies), British neo-soul (Typesun), jazz-funk (King Erisson, Yussef Lateef), chant-sporting proto-house madness (Nar'Chiveol), a prime slices of sub-heavy Sheffield brilliance (On's sought-after cover of 'Southern Freeez') and a blissed-out chunk of minimalist electronica from Roman Flugel's Soylent Green project.

Review: Selector, percussionist, producer and all-round legend Snowboy represents his weekly Madame JoJo's showcase in album form. Digging deep across two 12"s, Snowboy treats us to 23 undiluted funk and soul cuts. From well-known (James Brown's "Bring It Up" and Etta James' "Can't Shake It") to lesser-known (The Shirelles' "Boys", Dorothy Berry's "I Say You're Driving Me Crazy"), the whole curation rolls with emphatic consistency and attention to detail. With gems hidden around every corner, even the most ardent of collectors will find many things to love right here.

Review: Brooklyn's Wonderwheel Recordings welcomes Argentinian Lagartijeando aka Mati Zundel back to the fray two years after his much loved album Jallalla. This is another vast and expansive album that takes heavy inspiration from the artist's travels throughout Latin America with his signature shuffling and psychedelic rhythms underpinning each tune. There are earworm Brazilian melodies, sun kissed synths, traditional Moroccan Gnawa instrumentation and plenty of subtle folk string sounds next to a rich array of vocal samples all making this record come alive from the front to the back.

Review: SlothBoogie is back to encourage you once more to dance with your friends courtesy of this third volume of tantalising musical treats. The London crew has tapped up 16 artists for this one, with new names brought in and soon to find a sweet spot. The mix oversell is as varied and juicy as you would expect with Philippa's jazzy 'Chet's Vibe' exploring lovely deep house, 'Skleyka' by Lowres offering up some subtle funk infusions and 'We On Dis Ting' by Tiptoes getting a little saucy and steamy. Another well curated, well executed collection of essential modern sounds.
