Review: Organic Analogue makes it to double figures with a sublime new split EP from HVL and Gacha Bakradze. The A-side is opened up with 'Infinitesimal', a stripped back and icy bit of minimal dub techno, then 'AgneffC01' gets more rhythmically physical with scattered beats and hits and 'Collective Genius' is tense, kinetic techno with a real sense of paranoia. 'Routes' is the first B-side joint with Gacha Bakradze bringing some direct but economical drum machine grooves under meticulous percussion and then 'Chain' layers smeared cosmic pads with twitchy details and 'Widow' ends with a heavy heart. No wonder, then, that a host of eminent DJs like Ben UFO are all over it.

Review: Sturdy electro thumpery from Konery TMI, served up in five portions across what will surely prove a highly delectable EP for fans of the genre. Opening track 'Nauhuri' and 'Automaa' are both full of grace and gorgeous, effortless glide, while 'Lumivyory' alters the mood somewhat to get down and dirty with some thoroughly filthy acid squelch filth. 'Polaaritahti' takes its cue from the more minimal 80s sounds of Egyptian Lover or Hashim, before we draw to a close with the more serene and soothing 'Mustikka'.

Review: The irrepressible Plant43 spent a bunch of time over the winter of 2022 and 2023 writing some red hot new music. This is the first drop of what we're told is going to be a limited edition series showcasing what he made and it comes on lovely orange vinyl. 'Fierce Machines' races out of the blocks with edgy hits and celestial chords over a dynamic electro rhyth. 'Silent Core' then dials things back to a more empty and atmospheric sound with zippy leads and rueful chord work. 'Dark Veneer' is a busy mix of tightly sequenced melodic patterns over a jittery groove and 'Life In The Pod' is a clean, crisp, shiny metallic trip.

Review: Modular Expansion is 10 years old and to mark the occasion they have curated this special limited edition release from EMEX aka George Apergis. It comes on nice clear blue vinyl and musically unfolds in "Hi'iaka and Dysnomia, the outer moons of the trans-Neptunian dwarf planet Haumea." It is music with a deep space atmosphere hard stomping drums that take you ever further away from planet earth. Minimal arps trip you out while smeared pads add scale and a cinematic feel. It's pure, futuristic, heady techno in which to get utterly lost.

Review: Miami-based imprint Blkmarket Music, run by NYC veteran Taimur is back this week with a riveting 12' by the Russian producer Kirill Junolainen aka JLM Werx, following up releases on Hilltown Disco and Zero One Music. The Heartbeatz EP puts the bass in your face from the get-go on opening cut 'Heartbeat MC' with its futurist electro beats, while over on the flip he takes you to the rave on the acid-infused breaks of 'Total Zero' followed by one more excursion into dark-sci-fi aesthetics on the low end assault of 'Just A Mirage'.

Review: Unlike his long established MDR imprint, Marcel Dettmann has broadened his aesthetic on Bad Manners since its inception a few years ago, taking in everything from industrial/EBM, electro and indeed techno. Velvet Velour is behind the music and the opener 'Can You Feel It' is a superbly colourful house cut with futuristic neon lines and serene grooves. 'First Filter' keeps up the freshness with more vivid synth colours, balmy cosmic chords and silky drum programming and 'Cloud Beats' then gets more off-grid with its drums. Review: Sequalog France marks its 10th release with a high-quality double 12" from Daniel Anselmi in the form of Radio Tokyo. It's a storytelling trip with downbeat sounds and electro breaks depicting all sorts from future metropolises to distant planets. Tidy drum programming is at the heart of each track, but it is Anselmi's ability to speak through his synths that really brings each tune to life and gets the emotions going. There are busy cuts like the titular piece with its crunchy breaks and glowing metal sequences and slower, funkier workouts like 'Cassette Black Market' amongst many highlights.

Review: Georgian IDM artist Gacha Bakradze commands a loyal fanbase for his enchanting emanations in the style. The latest example comes in the form of 'Forget', his most recent contribution to Turkish pushers of the craft, Oath. Fluid movements of electro clankings and modular groovework extend far and deep into a gaseous, sulphuric unknown, while airier explorations of spirituality are laid down on the vocal-sample-led 'What You Say' and the wonderfully three-chord-backboned janker, 'Form'. 'Forget' isn't a project for shallow listens; take it slow.
