  2. Connectivity (Skream remix) (7:42)
  3. Connectivity (Jorja Chalmers Electricty remix) (4:01)
  4. Connectivity (Massey remix) (6:06)
Review: Manchester six-piece See Thru Hands are given the hard task of following up Sprechen's last release, which was a huge seller. They do a fine job though and big name remixes from Skream and Jorja Chambers, as well as label head Massey, help seal the deal. Lead single "Connectivity" is a big disco but not disco, synth heavy, funk fuelled and pop tinged jam with colourful arps and gorgeous vocals designed for loud summer plays. Skream then smooths things out and series up along and meandering disco groove to carry you away to the stars and Jorja Chambers reworks into a much slower, more experimental vibe. Massey's simple but effective stomper closes the package in big fashion.

Review: Dust off your dancing shoes and get some feelgood in your soul as See-Saw strikes up the band (or rather, a cast of editors) to bring you all the funk you need right now. The first Discipline Of Swing kicks off with Gledd laying down a chunky house beat and some liquid funk lines on "Doin' My Thang", before Monsieur Van Pratt buffs up a chant-a-long burner of the highest order for "Everybody On The Floor". Saint Paul kicks off the B-side with the jubilant string hooks and sax wriggles of "You're The One", and Castle Queenside rolls out "Day Old Data" in another expert swirl of finely selected and tastefully treated disco funk.

  2. C Da Afro - "Time To Move"
  3. Ziggy Phunk - "Space Ranger"
  4. Alexny - "Umbele"
Review: After an absolutely unforgettable wax-based debut, See-Saw is back with its second vinyl release, Discipline Of Swing Vol. 2.
In at pole position is Hotmood with 'Seductive Look', a funk filled mover with lashings of percussion, sexy vocals, and a brass section that'll have you jumping out of your seat. Combined with an uber funky bassline, 'Seductive Look' is bound to seduce the disco lover in you!
Up at the A2 slot is 'Time To Move' by C Da. Afro, a filter sweeping, soul fuelled number with brass, bass and backing vocals aplenty. Want the crowd to start moving? Then hit them with Time To Move and watch them sway.
First up on the flip side is 'Space Ranger' by Ziggy Phunk. A combination of scintillating synths, gyrating guitars, and bouncing bass makes 'Space Ranger' feel like a disco in orbit. Like a satellite, this track will be orbiting your head for days to come!
Last up, we have Alexny with 'Umbele', a freaky little number to finish off a perfect compilation. Succulent sax permeates the track from start to end, interspersed with gnarly, 70s synths and a rhythm that won't give up! The perfect opening or closing track for any discerning Disco DJ!

Review: French jazz musician Antoine Berjeaut has never made what you would call "standard jazz". His previous album, 2014's "Wasteland", was made in collaboration with American alt-rap hero Mike Ladd, while this belated follow-up bears the production stamp of drummer and experimental beat-maker Makaya McCraven. As a result, the set contains a lot of rhythmic variation, plenty of dancefloor-ready workouts, tons of dive-bar blues guitars, and an overall air of hazy late night hedonism that marks it out from other contemporary jazz sets. Dig further into the album and you'll also find some partly electronic jazz compositions that sound like the product of vivid late night hallucinations. In other words, it's both weird and wonderful. What more could you need?

Review: ** REPRESS ALERT ** 2019 marks 50 years since this timeless classic's original release. The Peddlers' "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever' is a sumptuous smooth jazz journey full of organ solos and deep vocal tones. The British soul/jazz trio is known for creating a unique melange of beat, jazz, cabaret, rock and soul that must be heard to be believed. Flip side "Comin' Home Baby" is like passing through a cloud composed of equal parts Tom Jones, Jimmy Smith, Georgie Fame, Mel Torme, Alan Hawkshaw and dozens of lesser jazz/lounge vibe-creators. Get this copy for a spine-tingling rush of harmony from the late sixties.

Review: Arriving five years after the London trio's last album 'Co-Exist', this third effort shows a band ready to make a bold step on from the sound that haunted radio and TV links alike around the start of this decade. And in what could be said to be a move from innocence to experience, they're doing so with hitherto unrevealed confidence and chutzpah..'I See You' expands on their trademark intimate melancholia with considerable finesse, yet longtime fans shouldn't worry too much about them losing their gloomy charm in the process - more so this is a band brandishing an expanded palette where once they were content to paint their room black.

Review: The legendary Martin Reverby, one half of seminal New York City post-punk outfit Suicide, went solo on 1996's See Me Ridin' which was originally released on CD for Brooklyn's ROIR USA, but gets a much needed and deserved vinyl reissue here on Hamburg's legendary Bureau B. Received by the critics with amazement, it proved to be a watershed moment in his career. From synth pop ditties like 'Pillars' to the dreamy and sugar sweet 'I Heard Your Name' (where we hear the synth player's vocals centre stage for one of the first times) to the infectious synth bass hook on "Small Talk" - get your hands on this oft underlooked underground classic.

Review: Bringing a dose of irreverence to the normally po-faced deep house scene, fresh-faced producers 2 Bit Crew make good their second release with a pair of cheeky tracks that remind us it's about having fun in the midst of serious grooves. The beat, bassline and swing on "Wanna See You Pop" may be first-rate New Jersey house music, but the vocal is an unlikely suspect that winds up defining the track in an off-kilter manner. Likewise on "Gonna Let You Go" the diva vocal cries take the limelight, and make for a heated dancefloor message that should tug at the soul and the hips without hesitation.

Review: Lascelle 'Lascelles' Gordon is the creative powerhouse behind Vibration Black Finger, and once again here he excels on a second album that furthers his magnificent jazz sound. Obscure spiritual sounds of the 70s are the melting pot from which he mostly draws, with plenty of like-minded collaborates all contributing their own skills to the mix. Collective empowerment and personal development all enrich the album and its progressive message, and it was all put together from old ideas on tapes and DATs that he had worked on over the years. Instrumental segues stitch together the thoughtful vocal pieces and moments of real gusto help it stick long in the memory.

Review: On his 2008 debut album "Where You Go, I Go Too", Hans-Peter Lindstrom offered up a grandiose vision that was almost cinematic in scope. His new album, "On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever", opts for a similar approach, delivering a quartet of atmospheric, moody and filmic cuts that slowly rise, fall and unfurl throughout their duration. Whether or not he becomes Norway's answer to Vangelis, that's the kind of vibe we get from stunningly icy and alien ambient opener "On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever" and the bubbly, uptempo throb of "Really Deep Snow". It's there, too, on the outer-space bliss of "Swing Low Sweet LFO" (we chuckled, at least) - think Radiophonic Workshop meets Jean-Michel Jarre - and the melancholic, modular-sounding beauty of clicking and echoing closing cut "As If No One Is Here". In a word: stunning.

Here landing on Dekmantel, the producer is in full flow on "I See Through You" - opening with "Night Alone" which marries grubby, corrugated bass and jacked up drums with a super emotive diva vocal that is sure to become anthemic. "Lost Codes" is a darker transmission, with percussive flurries and siren like leads adding up to a real rave. There's a new vision for deep house laid out on the acid laced "White Echoes" before "Wild Palms" closes out with a peak time offering of posh techno trance.

In a word: stunning.

limited edition zine
Notes: Crack Magazine and Thom Yorke have collaborated on a limited-edition zine, titled I See You.

The zine comprises interviews with eight artists, activists and musicians chosen by Yorke, who answer questions set by him. The zine is prefaced by Thom answering the questions himself.

The zine features pioneering electronic music composer Laurie Spiegel, writer and environmentalist George Monbiot, Edinburgh poet Harry Josephine Giles, New York contemporary artist Amy Cutler, fashion designer Jun Takahashi, director and screenwriter Luca Guadagnino, experimental musician Kali Malone and Brooklyn-based visual artist Christian Holstad.

Thom Yorke has decided to donate any profits from the zine to Greenpeace.

I See You is printed by Generation Press, a leading organisation in sustainable printing.

  3. I See Light (Willie Burns remix)
  4. I See Light (Legowelt remix)
Review: Madrid's Go! Finger is the latest label to make the migration from cassette to vinyl with their debut 12" featuring music from their last tape! Brooklyn selector Chupacabras no doubt made links with the Go! Finger founders during his time in Barcelona, spending four years in the Spanish city "sweating it out in the underground illegal party scene" before becoming a resident at Sala Neon. All the tracks on I See Light are culled from the Forgotten tape released on Go! Finger last year with two Chupacabras cuts backed by remixes from Legowelt and Willie Burns. Those two names are probably reason enough for many to investigate but don't make the mistake of glossing over the wonderfully strange original version of "I See Light" from Chupacabras, which pairs strange wind instrument with an insistent raw techno groove.
