  5. Bring Some Tea (4:39)
Review: The last EP on Londoner Lorca's Live Ones label came courtesy of DJ Windows XP, one of the most talked-about artists on the popular lo-fi house scene. On this follow up, he's turned to another rising star, Malmo-based producer Emile Sunesson AKA Sune. There's a genuinely celebratory, rush-inducing feel to bumpy, sample-heavy disco-house opener "The Way U Make Me Feel", while "Lingonberry Jazz" sees Sunesson wrap lilting horn solos and woozy backing vocals around a deliciously ambidextrous drum track. Elsewhere, "That Familiar Feel" is deliciously jazzy and bumpin' deep house, "Mimosa Kuriosa" is a dustier and dreamier take on swinging sample-house, and "Bring Some Tea" is a languid and luscious chunk of liquid deep house warmth.

Review: It wouldn't be fare to accuse all jazz cats of overlooking Albert Dailey, but many are guilty of it. One of often unsung greats everyone should know about but few seem to namecheck enough, 'Renaissance' is one of just five full-length albums from a career that lasted over 30 years, so you can add the phrase 'under-recorded' to the list of regrets. Laid down in 1977, four years after his debut full length arrived, for those who do count themselves in the fan club this is not just seminal Dailey but seminal jazz. Expressive, overflowing with emotion and yet also delightfully playful, it veers between freeform segments, such as the closing sections of 'Mr Pogo', to the sophisticated, sensual piano solo of 'Autumn Rain', which brings this display of musical prowess to a grand- or rather intimate- finale.

  5. Rhomboids Funk (5:28)
Review: With Hamid's HPLS label reigniting with the fresh, untethered sounds of DCHA-DCHA, we arrive at the second instalment of Opus Incertum already expecting some wild sounds. Fortunately label and artist don't disappoint, and we dive straight in with the unhinged aqua-industro-funk of "Morning Mimosa." That's swiftly followed up by "AGLS," which keeps the vibe liquid while welcoming a richer variety of marine life into the studio. "GalerianPlatz" makes the leap towards electro, with the surrealism tap still pouring wonderfully unexpected colours, tones and textures into the mix. At every turn this record, like its part one counterpart, surprises and delights with its original approaches.
