Moving from mono to stereo sound: a logical progression for any synthesist looking to expand their sonic palette. Making use of two audio channels, rather than just one, quite literally adds another dimension to the capabilities of a synthesiser.

Unfortunately, controlling stereo signals can be a challenge within a modular system. This realisation led to the development of Enhance 2: a convenient yet high-fidelity tool for stereo enhancement. It can be used to adjust balance, width and spectral content, while also opening up a world of mid/side processing; all under voltage control and in just 8 HP.

The primary stereo parameters are balance (moving the sound left or right) and width (making it narrower or wider). The balance circuit uses a true constant-power gain law, while the width stage allows for seamless transitions from pure mono to extra-wide stereo.

In addition, tone control is provided by a pair of unique, wide-ranging mid/side voltage controlled tilt filters with selectable corner frequency. These make 'cleaning up' a muddy-sounding mix straightforward, but also provide unique binaural effects when modulated.

Mid/side processing encodes the stereo signals into one containing only the mono material (mid), and another containing the differences between both channels (side). Apart from the internal tilt filters, mid/side outputs also enable external signal processing such as compression or reverberation. An integrated mid/side decoder returns the results back to standard stereo. And at all times, a LED bar phase meter ensures that phase correlation can be easily maintained.

The ACL Fader CV Source Module comprises 4 individual faders where each can generate a CV either going between 0 and +5V or 0 and +10V unipolar or -5V and +5V or -10V and +10V bipolar, selectable using 2 jumpers on the backside of the module.

Furthermore there are mute-switches for each channel accompanied with an dual color LED (green/red) which shows the channels mute status. When mute is activated or deactivated, short fade ramps will be generated as well as the fader itself is slightly slew-limited internally in order to generate a smooth CV.

iRig Stream Pro offers 2 modes: stereo or multichannel. By default, iRig Stream Pro operates in stereo mode and pre-mixes multiple sources of audio (RCA stereo inputs (+ Loopback), XLR / 1/4" combo input and TRRS microphone) down to a stereo track, which is sent to your choice of streaming apps like Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, etc.

You know, that epically huge and super saturated tone (some might call it big and muffy) that has defined the signature sound of so many artists and countless records in the past few decades. It's arguably one of the pedals with the biggest impact on the entire industry, which has seen it modified over and over and over again. So much that you think it's all been done, right? Holding three different Gain Modes, a pre- or post-EQ Clean Blend, active Bass and Treble controls, a foot-switchable and expression-controllable parametric Mid-EQ as well as a switchable top-boost for even more raspy, grinding bite, CHIEF DISRUPTOR is the most flexible, beautifully balanced and LOUDEST muff-style pedal you'll ever hear!

Over the years, different muff drives had different levels of gain, so KMA Machines derived three major distinctive gain structures all based on what was thought to be the best versions. The Vintage Mode (VTG) will give you every shade of discrete overdrive, while the Tight Mode will give a more focused and modern tone with less bass and super crisp harmonics. Heavy Mode is the essence of what we all love about muffs. Heavy, sustaining and crazy thick fuzzy distortion, with bone-shaking lows and chewy mids. Just crank the Disruption (Gain) Control and you'll see this in action.

Tonal shaping was one of the true weak points of classic muff pedals, and this has been remedied with the Chief Distruptor. KMA Machines opened the gates to more modern tonal flexibility through the active Bass and Treble controls, which let you boost or cut highs and lows with up to 15 dB, while the parametric Mid-EQ with adjustable centre-frequency and level boost/cut allows you to fine tune the mids with extreme precision, for everything from classic scooped fuzz tones, modern mid-focused dirt tones and all the way to cocked-wah saturation.

You can take complete hands-free control of the Mid-EQ frequency via an expression-pedal. This lets you make instant tone changes on the fly, as well as unleash fast and quacky wah-like sounds or slow and enveloping phaser-like sweeps. If you feel like the filter needs to be more resonant for screaming synth-like sweeps or needs to be subtler, then you can adjust the Q of the Mid-EQ via an internal trimpot. The mids can also be turned on and off via the relay-based soft-switch, allowing you to kick in the mids for soaring solos, cutting chords or when you want to get filter freaky. Having super saturated mids and lows can sometimes result in a perceived loss of highs. To fix this, just engage the Top-Boost to give your high-mids a big push for more crunchy harmonics and bite to cut through any band mix. The Top Boost has been tweaked, but if you feel like it's either too loud or not loud enough, you can also adjust the Top Boost Level via an internal trimpot.

The gain control has been carefully balanced to achieve total control of even the slightest harmonic nuances. So, whether you're looking for low gain drive, crunchy medium gain rhythm tones, singing or saturated lead sounds or skull-crushing doom tones, the Disruption control can and will cover all of them! A lot of gain rules! But gain also means compression, and the more you compress your sound, the more your instrument will lose definition. To preserve your precious core tone the CHIEF DISRUPTOR sports a clean blend control and a toggle switch to define the insert position. Insert your dry signal before the EQ section for a more cohesive sound or place it post-EQ to keep your dry signal completely unaffected.

Last but not least, KMA Machines have implemented stacked headroom topology to keep the EQs from getting saggy when cranked, all which results in the tightest, most punchy and LOUDEST muff-style tone on the market. Notes: The SC (Stereo Channel) is a single-channel stereo module for the CGM Eurorack mixer, fully compatible with every other product of this family.

It features a mono/stereo local output which makes it ideal for multitrack recording and advanced parallel processing.

Notes: Variable Pole analogue filter based on Asteroid Op VCF Tech

What does this do?

This is an analogue filter that uses two modern equivalent ssm2164 IC's v2164 from cool audio to do it's magic. This particular filter however allows the user to vary the phase of each pole or filter cell. There are four filter cells total. This is similar to the Blue lantern Asteroid Operator Station VCF. The Asteroid Operator Station VCF has 8 Static filter out puts. Those 8 flavors were found by exploring the circuit found on the millipede vcf and internally installing the resistor ratio for that flavor.

On the millipede vcf you are allowed to find more exotic flavors yourself. Operation is easy. You first have all the poles counter clockwise and the three switches set to mute. This will have the filter as a dark Low pass filter. Then you turn on a pole using the switch and turn the know to hear the change. Pole 3 by default is always on, otherwise there would have been no sound if all poles were muted. Having all the poles set clockwise and active easily gets you into brutal sounding tones in a good way.

There is an on board diode limiter circuit to help tame really harsh tones. This is activated by switch.

The audio input has some gain, so you don't always have it fully clockwise. There is also a capacitor selector switch just like my other filters. This modifies the rez peak.

When talking about signal gain, we all know drive circuits at full tilt can be noisy malice monsters. To help get a grip on your noise floor, PYLON's NOISE GATE is based on a high-performance Blackmerr VCA and provides lightning-fast and precise performance. To find the right spot, simply choose between one of the two detection-range settings and dial in the THRESHOLD to taste. With either softly decaying notes using HIGH mode or a fast-closing response in LOW mode, you're sure to be able to dial in super tight tones when you need it, but without interfering with your sonic signature. Fast palm-mutes? No problem. Decaying notes? Dead simple to accomplish and just so you know when it is operating, the white status LED will also turn blue as soon as the gate starts to act.

Providing up to 30 dB of gain, the integrated BOOST circuit can really help to fine tune your tone, but it can also serve as an attenuator too. Its CUT control will tighten up your low end and is selectable between 65-730 Hz to ensure a mid-focussed and cutting lead sound when pushing your amp's preamp into saturation. Choosing between three different modes for the boost's on/off state, gives you plenty of options on how you want to use it. Either leave it ON to always help shape your tone, OFF if you don't need it, or use SYNC mode so it is activated with the GATE. Both CUT & BOOST knobs are backlit, in order to show you the on/off status of the BOOST section at a glance.

Using transformers in pro-audio gear is nothing new, but while they help to easily match the impedance of low-level and unbalanced signals such as from guitar or bass instruments, PYLON's audio-grade-transformer also gives additional warmth with associated nice low-frequency harmonics. Your guitars, synths or in fact anything you put through the pedal will never have sounded so solid. The pedal gives more 'heft' and enhances the core tone, in a much finer way and without any of the phase issues that can happen when using EQ alone!

However, when the output transformer is boosted even further in level, it can overload many amplifier or pre-amp inputs and make things appear muddy, especially with high levels of additional gain. So, to help tame superfluous low end (especially for rhythm chugging and soloing), KMA Machines added a fixed built-in roll off that affects everything below 65 Hz when the internal BOOST section is activated.

There are three trimmers for each oscillator on the back of the module:

1V/oct is the octave tracking trimmer and is set at the factory using high precision instruments.
SHAPE is the trimmer that set the sine wave, for the lower harmonic content of the sine wave.
VC WAVE SHAPE sets the response of the waveshaper to the incoming control voltage. Both SHAPE and VC WAVE SHAPE trimmers are used to adjust the sine wave purity.

Notes: 221.x2 is a clean and precise utility module that is equally at home mixing Control Voltage as it is audio. At its simplest, it is two independent 2-to-1 mixers that offer per-channel attenuation and inversion, as well as +6dB of gain available at the summed outputs. With a tap of the "All Mix" button, these separate mixes can be combined into a 4-to-1 mix at the "All Mix" output - meanwhile, the first 1+2 mix is still available at its respective summed output. A rear expansion input and output allows for combining multiple modules into larger systems.

In addition, each channel also offers a Direct Output that can be taken pre or post attenuation/inversion.

A 6-volt offset is normalled into the input jacks of channels 2 and 4. This voltage is available at the channel's Direct Output, as well as added to the mixed outputs. Useful as an offset for mixing with another CV signal, or simply as a voltage source.

EQ Section
Dead simple to operate, this tonally deep submergence vehicle offers three sub-octave settings to choose from.
These allow you to turn your guitar into a filthy bass guitar with ground shaking lows, alternatively adding extra depth to basses and mono synths alike. The toggle switch lets you select between either the first octave (-I), the second (-II) or mix both together (-I/-II) which gives you a thunderously massive wall of sound, it even changes colour depending on the mode.

EQ Style
For the WURM pedal, we developed our own EQ stack and added an internal EQ STYLE switch to help you carve out additional tonal variations. In WURM 2, this is now on the front of the pedal to make it easier to access and for even more tonal options on-the-fly. Selecting HM-II mode will get you that classic 'chainsaw' High-Mids character.
However, in KMA mode the EQ is a little more tonally balanced, less peaky and a bit wider in response. If balanced and less peaky sounds too boring for you, select BOTH to fatten and double up the tone stacking, letting you ramp up the LOWS and the H-MIDS and rip that Swedish forest completely to shreds!
With all of this extra tone shaping, the pedal can sometimes begin to feedback at extreme settings. So, if this proves too much and to help tame that high-frequency content, we added a new internal control to smoothen things out. By flipping the dip-switch to activate the input filter, this will help to tame the high frequencies when absolutely everything is maxed out.

Notes: Transit has two stereo (dual mono) channel lanes of audio with an all-analogue signal path. Each stereo channel lane has its own input gain control, mute button and ducking input. The Ducking input on each channel operates like traditional sidechaining on a compressor where an input signal, CV or Trigger input (i.e. LFO, Clock, Gate) modulates the gain reduction of the audio.

Drezno is the input/output front-end of the system, consisting of an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) and a digital-to-analogue converter (DAC), that alone can be used for manipulating analogue signals and voltages based on their binary representation.

Lipsk is a binary logic processing expander module that can flip (invert) individual bits of the digital signal representation. There are more Leibniz Binary Subsystem elements coming, with specialized and advanced sets of features.

Jena is a digital module that may be used as a flexible waveshaper for CV and audio signals, a wavetable oscillator, a Walsh function generator, or a rhythm generator.

Erfurt is a bi-directional digital counter, frequency divider. It has multiple applications: the output of the counter may be used as a phase source driving a digital wavetable, connected to other Leibniz modules it may scan waveshapes in Jena, produce stepped voltages useful for making interesting glissandi with Drezno and any VCO, generate gate patterns animating the spectrum of Odessa harmonic banks, spawn pseudo-chaotic sequences when fed back to Lipsk, etc.

Notes: Tape Echo is an echo and delay processor with 7 different types of simulation to recreate the sound of vintage echo units. In addition to classic tape echo simulation, the NDD-7 has a separate spring reverb effect, sound-on-sound (SOS) for operation as a 40 second looper, and up to 1600ms of delay. Insert Cables

In most cases, connections to instruments, effects and the mixer are made with standard insert cables (1xTRS to 2xTS).

This system allows two mono connections for each 1/4" socket on the back panel, and is how MINIBAY is able to pack so much for its size.

TRS Cables

TRS cables can be used to make stereo or balanced connections. When this is done, each channel or polarity is patched separately on the front panel.

Rows A and B

For Rows A and B, each 1/4" socket on the back panel is wired to two adjacent 1/8" sockets on the main panel.

FX Rows

Each 1/4" FX socket on the back panel is wired to the two corresponding 1/8" FX sockets on the main panel. One insert cable can therefore be used to connect to the input and output on an effects unit (or two cables for a stereo unit).

Normalling

Connections between patch points on Rows A and B can be individually normalled using the dip switches located on the interior of the main patch panel. Simply take out the screws on MINIBAY's steel enclosure to open it up and access these.

A normalled connection is one where the signal flows without the need for patch cables. In a fully normalled connection (as used in MINIBAY), the connection is broken if a cable is inserted at any point in the signal flow.

All settings can be edited onboard or via USB using the downloadable PC/Mac Quicktone software and then stored into one of 36 internal memory locations. For live or rehearsal backing, the built-in Jam function has a fully featured drum machine and phrase looper. To integrate with a DAW studio suite, the USB also functions as a high-quality audio interface, completing the studio-ready guitar rig. The main output can be stereo or mono for guitar amplifiers or D.I to studio equipment. There is an additional 3.5mm output for stereo headphones. Expanding the control surface has provided space for additional control footswitches for a smoother and more accessible live playing experience.
