Review: As is the modern way with all major album birthday milestones, this one now gets a special 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition which means it comes on limited edition pink vinyl. It is a record that collects together four fab fan favourites. The major one is the 24-minute epic 'Psychedelic Hypnotist Daydream (demo)' which takes up all of the a-side and is a truly immerse and heady sonic trip. It is one of the group's most epic ever tunes and also included are 'Duck Dodgers Theme (Duck Dodgers Demo: With Wayne Scratch Vocal),' 'I Know I've Got To Make That Dream The Real Thing (Demo),' and last but not least the lovely melancholy of 'Do You Realize?? (Instrumental).'

Review: No matter what type of project Deftones followed up their career-defining White Pony with, it was destined to disappoint at least some of their devout fanbase. Originally released in 2003, the band's self-titled fourth effort would mark their final collaborative project with iconic producer Terry Date (until reuniting for 2020's Ohms), while notably eschewing much of the "nu-metal" residue that still clung to their sonic makeup. Embracing elements of trip-hop and post-metal, while directly linking the group to the "are they or aren't they shoegaze?" debate which has loomed overhead ever since, the album has seen a steady reassessment from lacklustre follow up to underappreciated gem. With any luck, this reissue should continue to help highlight the cause as cuts such as 'Minerva' still soar with triumphant yet sultry hypnotics while 'Hexagram' serves as one of the heftiest cuts in the band's canon. It didn't even need an additional title. This is simply Deftones, and it still slaps two decades on.

The band has always used the lifelong friendship of its members as inspiration for their musical journey. They started making music together in several other projects before this one but none resonated as much. The band has, since forming, topped the UK album charts, played a standout set at Glastonbury and won the BRIT Award for Best British Group. This new album is another bold one that has already won people over with lead single 'Mountains At Midnight'.

Review: Prince's Batman soundtrack has a lot to match up to in terms of what Mr Rogers Nelson had recorded previously, or indeed after. The 1989 Tim Burton film was a resounding smash, but Prince's standalone album has a mixed legacy perhaps because of its role as a bit part in a blockbuster machine. Peel back the years and hear the songs afresh though, and there's so much to savour from the Linn Drum flaring beatdown 'Batdance' to quintessential good-time jam 'Partyman' and through to the smoochy ballad 'Scandalous'. Prince was in his prime when he made Batman, and his talent quite simply is unparalleled on this or any other album.

The biggest tine of them all is 'Walking In Memphis' which remains an ever popular sing along hit to this day and is a cover of Marc Cohn's song of the same name. Review: For those not in the know, Puscifer is the brainchild of Tool/A Perfect Circle vocalist Maynard James Keenan; an outlier side-project designed as "simply a playground for the various voices in my head, a space with no clear or discernible goals, where my Id, Ego, and Anima all come together to exchange cookie recipes." With each of their four full-lengths to date taking completely different sonic shapes, the release of the project's 2007 debut "V" Is for Vagina perplexed, bemused, enthralled and infuriated fans in equal measure upon its initial release. Bending ambient trip-hop machinations and industrial atmospherics around Keenan's lush croons, and enlisting a frankly obnoxious list of collaborators and co-conspirators such as Tool/Kyuss producer Joe Barresi, Primus drummer Tim Alexander, Alain Johannes and former Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Gil Sharone (to name only a select handful), this reissue welcomes both the devout and unfamiliar to visit Keenan's most artistically unrestrained work in its purest form. If 'Queen B' doesn't put you into a vibe trance, are you even human?

Knebworth 22, the latest live album from Liam Gallagher, renowned British singer-songwriter and former frontman of Oasis. 15 tracks of Gallagher's solo originals are heard after being recorded live at the Knebworth Park in England on 3rd-4th June, 2022, including 'Wall Of Glass', 'Shockwave', 'Once' and 'All You're Dreaming Of'. Review: We seem to be in the middle of a run of Prince reissues right now, with the focus being on those he released through Warner. The relationship eventually went sour and Prince knocked out plenty of records in quick succession to see out his deal but that didn't dint their commercial success. Albums from the entire 16-year period are being put out into the ether on vinyl and now it's the turn of 1988's Lovesexy, which came on the heels of Sign O' The Times and might be the last of his imperial phase. 'Alphabet Street' is the most noted of the singles here in an album full of seriously steamy funk sounds.

Review: A series of Prince albums are being reissued by Warner, including this one from 1994. By then the legendary funk artist's relationship with his label was hugely stringed and he had recently change his name, for the first of several times to [Love Symbol]. This album was one of a number that the Purple One wrote in a short space of time in order to free himself from his contract with the major label. Despite those circumstances, it is still a standout record that managed to get to Number One in the UK despite a lack of support from Prince himself upon release.

Review: Permission To Land is the debut album by glam rockers The Darkness, originally released in 2003. True to their name, The Darkness were dark horses indeed, having been sorely underestimated by the guffawing gatekeepers at Sony, who failed to see any promise in the band after being deemed "uncool", perhaps due to their bombastic rock & roll sound and high vocal drawl from Justin Hawkins. Sony were easily knocked off their high horse, however, when the band later signed with Atlantic, after which the album would top the US Albums Chart, peaking at number two. For the fans, this reissue harks back to their earliest hits, such as 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love', and 'Growing On Me'.

Now it's the turn of Diamonds & Pearls, the 1991 opus which brought us such massive hits as the title track, 'Cream' and 'Gett Off'. There's not a single miss on the original album which fills out disc one of this double CD version, while disc two takes us on a wild ride through extended versions, B-sides and remixes aplenty. It's the sound of Prince fully embracing the 90s, from guest raps to house beats and beyond, but as ever it could only come from the mind of one particularly purple man.
