Caramel Chameleon kicks off with a good time mix of cheery melodies and chattery drums, then Perseus Traxx brings his signature analogue murkiness to the lo-fi house trudge that is 'Something More Than This.' Review: By 1972, Family had really hit their stride after big success with albums Fearless and Bandstand. Boston Music Hall 1972 was recorded live at the eponymous venue on September 28th 1972 although ' A Song For Me' was recorded for "Rockenstock" French TV earlier in January of that year. It was recorded for radio during their Autumn tour and has big tunes like 'Burlesque', 'My Friend The Sun' and 'The Weaver's Answer' as well as a special bonus recording of 'A Song For Me,' which was originally written for French TV/A super sounding album from one of the great 70s bands.

Review: A Beautiful Place label founder Noha (also head of Panick Panick) offers up his latest slice of sonic wonderment with The Abyss Between A&B. Hailing from Italy's great capital, Rome, but having lived in New York for some time, once that's clear you can't help but hear a mixture of old world musicality and modern - or indeed futuristic - production happening across this startlingly good, rather different electronic effort.
Comparing the first and second tracks alone is enough to prove this, with 'Today' and its beautiful beatless harmonies invoking a kind of ancient mystery, while the dub-stepp-y 'Kudos Kid' feels very much born in the clubs and streets of our time (while also nodding to another synth gem, Elektro Guzzi). From there, things continue to flit between those two worlds, combining lush soundscapes with infectious and often slightly off centre percussion, making for one of those outings that can make you move and dream.

Review: Powell's work has been described as 'jerky electro' by some critics, which isn't to suggest he's a jerk. Instead, it's because things often sound, and feel, unpredictable. Rhythmic patterns aren't quite what they seem, if they even really exist, time signatures can jump around without warning and production rules are, generally, given short thrift. Nevertheless, his work is always pleasing to hear.
Flash Across The Intervals takes that mantra and reduces it to the bare minimum, and yet there's nothing restful about the tracks. In fact, as the staccato distortions and whirs of the opener shows, there's actually a lot happening. 'Performance To A Harsh Critic' is perhaps the most track-y track, in terms of construct, but even this is really about experimenting with textures of noise, with highly sensory results.

Review: As Valet is a Paris-based abstract-instrumental-space-hip-hop beat producer who manages to combine the futuristic with the ancient and ritualistic on this album. It's both cosmic yet organic, expansive yet intimate with tumbling beats that sound loose and live, sprinkles of starry melody and plenty of warm jungle humidity from the percussion. Guests such as LaNote, Lanoir, Raphael Neblai and Jewice add some vocal magic and this one is, then, sure to become a real cult classic in no time at all thanks to its unique mix of all those different worlds but also, quite simply, its damn nice vibes.
