Review: Sound Exhibitions is back with more of that irresistible old-school dancefloor heat that comes courtesy of this new EP from Jayl Funk. It comes on a limited edition red 7" but features some seriously big sounds. The opener 'Get On Ya Feet' has vamping chords and diva vocals with big glossy strings. It's a characterful and big-hearted cut for good-time fun. 'Waiting For You' is a different proposition - it's a more funky tune with horn-laced grooves and a characterful female vocal that gets flipped into an old school hip-hop verse with dusty breaks.

Review: The Sound Exhibitions label from Italy presents more sure-footed disco house edits to get you grooving in all the right ways, featuring no less than six cuts packed onto this slab of wax. Luciano FM takes the cake on the A side, laying down two superlative joints which strike a sweet balance between looped-up dancefloor mentality and warm, flowing groove. Alexny meanwhile slips into a deeper kind of jam led by the power of the house drums and deploying brass stabs at key moments for maximum satisfaction. Pakoemme brings a sentimental lilt to 'I Want You', Windy City get all rubbery and nasty on the brilliant 'Mr Balearic' and Mosaik seals the deal with dub-licked house cut outright 'Searching'.

Review: Sound Exhibitions are back with another of their bumper box set collections which pull together the works of several key label artists. There are five 7"s in all and a wide range of styles from the pumping disco funk of Luciano FM's opener 'Fly Guy' to the more deep house leaning grooves of Mosaik's 'Pazarski Den' (Chicago Beatdown). Jazzed up disco and infectious hand claps get the party going on Monsieur Van Pratt's 'This Jazz (For Jorman)' and there is also some seductive slow motion beatdown from friends and long time musical collaborators Luciano FM & Stradivarius on their 'Nu Cafe.'

Review: Croatian producer Funky Destination is back with an irresistible funk bomb here in the form of this new 45rpm on Sound Exhibitions out of Italy. It comes on limited edition red vinyl and opens up with 'I Wanna Love Ya' which is one of his signature grooves completes with snappy hits and jangling guitar lines. It's a loopy affair that bursts to life with the arrival of some big trumpets and has a throwback turn of the millennium feel. 70s Lonely Hustler' is the flipside jam and is a more organic and loose rhythm peppered with Latin energy, bird calls, tambourines and much more.

Review: 'Disco Tape', which launched via a must-check 12" back in August 2023, os Sound Exhibitions' multi-artist EP series. This second volume is a similarly action-packed affair that gleefully blurs the boundaries between reworks, re-edits and sample-heavy original productions. Alexny kicks things off with two sun-soaked treats - the percussive and warming tropical disco tribute 'Caribbean Breeze' and the sax solo-sporting dancefloor shuffle of 'Bada Boom' - before Paride Pavone rounds off side A with the jazzy disco-house celebration of 'In Key'. Phil Disco impresses on side B with two killer cuts (the funky bass-propelled disco heaviness of 'Never Gonna Leave You' and the swirling jazz-funk-house bump of 'Disco Ipno', while disco-funk specialist C Da Afro rounds things off in fine style via the insatiable grooves and fluttering flute solos of 'The Choice'.
