The designer and DJ has teamed up with Pioneer once again, this time, sharing one-off custom CDJs with friends and fellow DJs.
As a regular collaborator with brands, Virgil Abloh knows all about hype. The Louis Vuitton artistic director appears to have been busy with Pioneer DJ again, creating some new CDJs.
Grime DJ Logan Sama and designer Heron Preston showed off what look like bespoke CDJ-2000NXS2s, apparently sent to them by Louis Vuitton artistic director and sometime DJ Virgil Abloh. Sama’s have a retro white-and-neon look, while Preston’s are finished in a solid red reminiscent of the Red October colourway of his collaborator Kanye West’s Yeezy trainers.
Are they prototypes of new custom colourways? We think it’s more likely that they’re one-offs for friends and family. Virgil has previously teamed up with Pioneer for custom transparent-cased CDJ-2000s and DJM-900 mixers, sending them out to friends and collaborators including Benji B and Peggy Gou.
