The Dutch label returns from a summer break in style with a 12″ featuring Antenna, S.Olbricht, Delta Funktionen, DJ Overdose reworks.
Outside of the L.I.E.S. juggernaut, few other labels have taken to 2016 with as much gusto as Pat Marsman’s Pinkman and associated divisions. Central to Pinkman activities this year has been the label’s debut album project, naturally they turned to old hand Vincent Koreman and his Drvg Cvltre alias, and that’s been augmented by 12″-shaped fun from Art Crime, mark Du Mosch and Norwell. The looser musical framework afforded by Pinkman offshoot has seen new transmissions from Metropolis, Ale Parisi, Tim Fairplay and a face-off between DJ Overdose & DJ Technician. And then we have the Broken Dreams white label offshoot which only launched in June but is already two releases deep.
With all this activity it is no surprise Marsman took a month or so off from label duties to relax, maybe visit Rotterdam Zoo and belatedly wish Bokito the Gorilla happy 20th birthday. The pull of freshly-pressed vinyl is clearly too strong however as news arrives of a fresh Pinkman 12″ due for release next month. Tracks from the label’s previous release, Norwell’s Death Of A Star, have been opened up for remixing by a stellar cast of producers in Antenna, S.Olbricht, Delta Funktionen and DJ Overdose. You can preview them below with the rather naughty electro revision of the title track from Delta Funktionen standing out.
Pinkman will release Death Of A Star Remixes by Norwell on September 12.
