We have the veiled Råd Kjetil Senza Testa project out of Sweden to thank for alerting us about the sounds of Italian label Yerevan Tapes. Supporting all matter of edgy leftfield genres like psychedelic Persian classical, space rock, rhythmic noise experiments and plenty shades of darker ambient, the label prides itself on delivering cassette release that are “coloured, home-dubbed, limited editions by small bands from the whole world.” In operation since 2011, the Yerevan Tapes remit is by no means restricted to the cassette format, with Northern Electronics associates Råd Kjetil Senza Testa the latest act to grace the label with a vinyl release in the shape of the upcoming Null/Void & End due next month.
