Charlois returns with Dollkraut

Pascal Pinkert’s project brings more of the kosmische heat to the Pinkman sister label.

Dutch label Pinkman has done a fine job of affirming its position as an operation versed in the art of cerebral, inventive house, techno and electro thanks to recent releases from Xosar, Drvg Cvltvre and Antenna. Meanwhile label boss Patrick Marsman has further expanded on his curatorial vision with the burgeoning sound of Charlois, a sister operation that began in earnest with a single from Dollkraut last year. As we reported back in May, the likes of Timothy J. Fairplay and Roberto Auser have since added to the catalogue, capitalising on a remit that focuses on more esoteric 4/4 fare compared to the pumped up machine rhythms of the parent label.

Pascal Pinkert (pictured above) comes back to the imprint he helped inaugurate with a new Dollkraut EP entitled Hornet Green, following up a brief hiatus in releases since his debut album Schimanski’s Black Lullabies dropped on The Gym late last year. To herald the news, Charlois have unveiled “Valium” from the four-track 12″ in full for your streaming pleasure and it hums with the ambience of live bass and drums pivoting around forlorn synth lines that could easily be beamed from the golden era of motorik music.

Charlois will release Hornet Green by Dollkraut in October.
