The excellent Stump Valley will inaugurate the new series with the Recorded At Summer Forest Camp 12″.
Mystery duo Stump Valley have made quite an impression this year, seemingly emerging from nowhere with a fully-formed brand of insouciant house music prone to veering off into moments of chaos without any prior warning. Having scored two swiftly released 12″s on Rush Hour’s No ‘Label’ operation and Jordan Czamanski’s Off Minor Recordings over the month of June, news now arrives the dapper pair have now caught the ears of another highly respected house operation in Lerato Khathi’s Uzuri, a label that always puts quality over quantity.
Stump Valley’s arrival on Uzuri heralds the commencement of a new series from the label called The Wilderness Sessions, which a press release states will represent all things leftfield, meandering “in all different directions, whether it be ambient cuts, jazzy excursions”. Due for release in January, the Recorded At Summer Forest Camp 12″ features three original Stump Valley tracks as well as a “British Hustle Mix” from MTRPLS, which by all accounts is the pair’s production alter egos.
Uzuri will release The Wilderness Sessions presents Stump Valley – Recorded At Summer Forest Camp on January 26, 2015.
