New Inigo Kennedy album on the way

The producer’s fifth album Vaudeville will be released by Token in June.

Inigo Kennedy has been developing his own take on techno since the mid ’90s across a number of aliases such as Reducer and Tomito Satori, though a large bulk of it has come under his given name for the Asymmetric label he founded in 1999. After a brief production hiatus in the middle of the last decade, Kennedy has returned with renewed vigour with releases for the likes of Prosthetic Pressings, Inner Surface and Semantica, though it’s Token that the North Londoner is now most closely tied to. Inaugurating the Ghent-based label back in 2007, Kennedy has gone on to release a string of well recieved 12″s for the label, and alongside Ø [Phase], Xhin and Ctrls has proved integral in helping to establish its now peerless reputation among techno fans.

Given the close relationship between artist and label, it’s little surprise to see news surface of Token releasing the fifth album of Inigo Kennedy’s recording career. Due in June, the ten track Vaudeville is described by the label as a “a presentation of space, industry and enveloping urban darkness in a single, turbulent journey. It is the culmination of an organic and emotional approach to production.”

Token will release Vaudeville by Inigo Kennedy on June 2.
