Dekmantel launch new Amsterdam festival

Dutch label Dekmantel move into the European festival circuit with the announcement of their own star-studded festival weekender in August.

Dekmantel are no strangers to the festival game, regularly showcasing bigger events at ADE as well as a daylong festival called Lente Kabine. Although their new Dekmantel Festival event may be classed as a boutique event, with a capacity of 5000, it looks to be on a par with some of the similar offerings multiplying across the Croatian coastline. Taking place across the weekend of August 23 and 24 in Amsterdamse Bos forest, a short distance outside of Amsterdam itself the festival boats an impressive array of big names, including Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Scuba, Ostgut Ton muscle men Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock, Four Tet and James Holden.

In addition to these luminaries, contemporary UK sounds will be represented by the likes of Ben UFO, Pangaea, Midland, Pearson Sound and Joy Orbison, while the UK techno contingent will be represented by Surgeon, Truss and Karenn, who will bring their live hardware rig. Juju & Jordash and Move D’s Magic Mountain High project will also perform live, as will Legowelt, Xosar, Voices From The Lake, Mathew Jonson and Underground Resistance.

The Dekmantel label itself will also be well represented, with Vakula, Makam and San Proper all appearing alongside the Dekmantel Soundsystem, while the likes of L.I.E.S. boss Ron Morelli, Innervisions favourites Dixon and Ame, Laurent Garnier, Gerd Janson, Optimo and Mathew Jonson round out the bulging line-up announcements so far; a short promo video for the festival can be viewed below.

The first 1000 tickets will go on sale March 29 from the festival’s website priced at €65 for two day access, though the price will go up that allocation is sold.
