Listen: Robert Hood – Torque One / Movement

Get a grip on what to expect from the forthcoming Nighttime World 3 LP from Detroit producer Robert Hood with the full stream of the preceding single Torque One / Movement.

Due out on Belgian label Music Man next month, Hood returns to the Nighttime World series after 12 years to explore “the life, history and future of Detroit’s motor industry and its workforce, set against a backdrop of decay, hope and re-birth”. On the basis of the two tracks that make up the lead single, Hood might just have taken a less hard-edged approach to his trademark punchy and minimalist style of Detroit techno – “Torque One” in particular is a smudgey delight.
