Ahead of a much anticipated debut Discodeine album set for release in early 2011, the French duo end the year on a high note with the release of “Synchronize” their collaboration with Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker on a variety of formats on both DFA and D*I*R*T*Y on December 6.
The instantly winning combination of Cocker’s distinctive voice and an orchestral discoid thump instigated by Pilooski and Pentile marks “Synchronise” out as a bona fide future classic pop track in a similar vein to “Blue Steel” from compatriots Bot’Ox. In order to honour the track properly NYC types DFA will be releasing a twelve inch that includes extended vocal and instrumental versions of the track backed with warehouse refixes from the mysterious Jam Factory.
In addition, D*I*R*T*Y will also be releasing the track as part of the Extension 10 inch which is joined by an extended version of previous release “Singular” which featured the hushed vocals of Kompakt stalwart Matias Aguayo. This extended version of the latter track will only be available on the 10 inch which just adds another degree of collectability to a record which comes on blue vinyl and gorgeous if slightly spectral bespoke art (as seen above.)
An accompanying video for the track is also promised ahead of the release.
