Caribou’s band release live LP + DVD
Caribou’s 15 piece band (known as the Caribou Vibration Ensemble) will release a double vinyl LP and DVD package celebrating their show at the last year’s All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in New York.
That performance saw Caribou (aka Dan Snaith) call put together a 15 piece band that included a sprinkling of musical heavyweights including Kieran Hebden (Four Tet), Luke Lalonde (Born Ruffians), Koushik Ghosh (Koushik), plus a five piece horn section, four drummers, oh, and Sun Ra arkestra band leader Marshall Allen. Not bad, huh? “The show was something of a dream come true for us,” wrote Dan, somewhat understatedly, on his website.
The record will only be available at Caribou’s upcoming concerts and not at stores like Juno, so your best bet is to go check out the band at one of their two million upcoming gigs, in which his regular band will play alongside the likes of Mount Kimbie, Holy Fuck, Nite Jewel and a tasty looking Warehouse Project show with with Four Tet, James Holden and Nathan Fake.
