Featured DJ Chart – Sinden (Best of 2009)

This week Sinden brings us his “Best of 2009” chart with a range of the year’s biggest dance floor bangers. The London-based DJ has remixed the likes of  A-Trak and DJ Mujava, holds down his own radio show at Kiss FM and toured with M.I.A (as her personal DJ no less). He has become famed for his wide-ranging sets, which touch on everything from Baltimore and dancehall to dubstep and house.

1. The Count & Sinden – Mega (Domino)

“I’ve been overwhelmed by the diversity of fans, from Busy P to Martyn, Gilles Peterson and Roger Sanchez to Will-I-Am. We wanted to make something in a funky style but with our twist on it.”

2. R1 Ryders – Rubberband (Funkitek Mix) (R1 Ryders)

“Love genre-defying tunes like this, incredibly unique – it really is a future classic. I can’t get enough of its rubberband bassline.”

3. Douster – Triassic Genisis (ZZK)

“One of my artists of the year! The whole EP is gold but this title track stands out for me. The Chinese and human choir synths remind me of the early Wiley Eski era!”

4. 2000F & Kamata – You Don’t Know What Love Is (Hyperdub)

“This is some amazing jheri curl vocodered 80’s style dubstep – it will instantly melt your dancefloor. The b-side from Joker isn’t too shabby either.”

5. Joy Orbison – Hyph Mngo (Hotflush)

“I think this tune is the perfect example of how to work a good groove really well – one of those tunes that you don’t tire of hearing.”
