Review: These long treasured ska joints have long been unavailable - or at least near impossible to track down - even on the second hand market. A-side "Mama No Fret" was first released by Jamaican rocksteady singer Eric "Monty" Morris on Duke Reid's Treasure Isle label in 1964. It's a beautifully warm and upbeat track with a joyous trumpet and aloof vocals. The B-side is from Jamaican trumpet player Baba Brooks and features his fantastic lead over the top of a quickened and swaggering ska beat. Perfect sunshine music if ever we heard it.
