Proton is Audio Damage's take on the classic Karplus-Strong tuned delay line physical modelling synthesis. Take a capable "vintage digital" style delay line with 1V/Oct clocking, and add an enveloped noise burst, and you have a plucked string physical model. This is wrapped up in standard Audio Damage aural hijinks, and Proton is the result.
Starting with the delay line, which is "tuned" via the coarse and fine tune knobs, add a quality low pass filter (modelled on the MS20's LPF) and damping circuits. This is hit with a noise burst from an analog random number generator that passes through two more filters and an envelope with decay to produce the plucked sound. A "CHOKE" input empties the delay line, for extra dynamic control.
Since Karplus-Strong synthesis lacks bottom in general - the "SUB" control adds a sine at the fundamental frequency to produce gut-churning low end in the bass register. The result is a physical model synth that is capable of both delicate harp-like plucks and monster face-melting basslines.

Not just another clone or continuation of the 808-esque, acid-style kicks of the Mutant Bassdrum - the Mutant BD9 seeks to explore uncharted bassdrum territory by having an integrated sub-oscillator for maximal auditory obliteration.
Parametric bassdrum synthesis offers creative control of the core sound:
- The primary analog VCO offers classic 909-esque sinusoidal bassdrums, but can also be switched to generate a square wave bassdrum
- The PITCH of the VCO spans several octaves, from about 30Hz to 240Hz, and can be modulated with voltage control
- A novel PITCH DECAY circuit allows you to adjust the duration and AMOUNT of the pitch-modulation envelope applied to the bassdrum, from short blips to exaggerated tom-like sweeps
- The AMPLITUDE DECAY allows adjustment of the length of the bassdrum, from short punchy kicks to massive booms. This parameter is voltage-controlled with a snappy CV response time, allowing you to modulate the duration of your kicks per step.
- The CLICK generator is responsible for the attack intensity of the BD9. A fair amount of circuitry goes into creating this subtle punch at the beginning of the kick. The level of this effect is adjustable up to a fairly dramatic extremity.
- The overall timbre of the BD9 varies with the DRIVE control from warm, analog bassdrums at low settings to speaker-shattering overdriven sounds at high settings. Output levels are modular-level signals, unlike many classic line-level percussive devices.
Still not heavy enough? Try the sub-oscillator:
- A square wave sub-oscillator derived from the primary oscillator's pitch can be mixed in (manually and with voltage control) to the BD9. The effect can be subtle deepness or extreme timbre changes.
- A jumper on the back of the module allows you to select between the sub-osc being a raw square wave or having some of the high frequency components removed with a lowpass filter.
- At high OUTPUT DRIVE and SUB LVL combinations, the sub-oscillator can be modulated with CV to saturate the BD9 output in evolving ways.
- The SUB OCT can be set to 0, -1 or -2 octaves down from the primary oscillator. A drop of 0 means that you can mix an equal-pitch square wave with a sinusoidal primary wave.
Designed for the contemporary modular synthesizer:
- Plenty of Eurorack-compatible control voltage inputs with bipolar attenuverters allow synthesis of dynamic percussion
- A practical analog trigger circuit allows activation of the BD9 from many signal sources (anything with a positive-going edge lasting 2ms or longer). Most electronic drum pads can also directly trigger the Mutant BD9.
- An accent input accepts analog voltage control (0 to 5V will fully modulate the volume from low to high)
The Mutant Machine is a dynamic analog instrument capable of generating a wide palette of sounds, ranging from various forms of analog percussion to complex drones and oscillations. To achieve this, the Machine features two synthesis sections which are summed together at the final output: MEMBRANE and SNAPPY. Like the other Mutant Drums, the MEMBRANE and SNAPPY circuits began their mutation as classic analog percussion techniques and have been reimagined for 21st century modular synthesis.
The MEMBRANE forms the main body of the sound by way of two analog VCOs, and the SNAPPY section further adds to the timbre by contributing noisy elements to the mix. A noisy CLICK which occurs at the beginning of the SNAPPY sound can have its volume adjusted independent of the main decaying SNAPPY texture.
The waveforms which make up the MEMBRANE can be selected manually by button press, or the WAVESCANNER can be used to automatically scan through the available analog waveforms. By modulating the frequency through which waves are scanned, unique, complex sounds are created.
Experimentation is encouraged by the many modulation inputs and outputs available to you. The Machine features 8 CV and gate inputs for modulation as well as two external audio inputs, for bringing other modules into the Machine's core. There are many audio outputs for maximum versatility, allowing you to use the Machine to create drones and alien timbres for use elsewhere in the modular analog system.

We're familiar with IsoAcoustics' highly effective line of monitor isolation stands that seem to bring out the best from any speaker. NAMM 2017 will see IsoAcoustics release the new Iso-Puck - the same concept as the bigger stands, yet in a low-profile, flexible, scalable version. The little puck-like discs are placed under your speaker to isolate them from the surface they're sitting on.
An Iso-Puck is pretty small - just 3cm tall and 6cm in diameter. Its round shape makes positioning a bit easier than with stands, especially on varied surfaces like the narrow space on top of a console meter bridge. The multipart isolation construction of the Iso-Puck lets it move to isolate and manage the energy in line with the same isolation concepts employed in other IsoAcoustics products. The Pucks feature a flange suction cup on the top to hold tight the speaker surface, as well as a bottom suction cup flange for the supporting surface. Energy is transferred to the core of the multipart isolator in between which resists lateral movement and offers better isolation.
The M-PATCH ACTIVE-1 accommodates four input sources (3 x stereo analog and 1 x USB) and three stereo analog outputs plus USB. In addition to the core functionality of providing seamless A/B switching between input signals and output speaker monitor systems, the ACTIVE-1 delivers a full complement of audio monitoring functions, including precision volume control, mono summing, mute, and dim (ducking). A handy footswitch-activated talk-back function, complete with on-board condenser microphone and selectable routing, has also been integrated, making the ACTIVE-1 the ideal low-cost solution for a broad range of studio production applications.
Designed to provide the lowest-noise operation possible in an active monitor controller, the ACTIVE-1 is ideal for applications where both signal attenuation and boost is needed. In addition to the feature complement found on the PASSIVE-1, the ACTIVE-1 also includes LED level metering and convenient switch-selectable +4dBu/-10dBV input stage operation.
The ACTIVE-1 features on-board USB, allowing for direct digital audio recording and playback when used with a computer DAW. The USB output mirrors the signals appearing at the analog 2 Track outputs, while the computer's L/R output feeds the USB in.
Housed in a sturdy metal chassis and fitted with a durable array of switches and secure connectors, the ACTIVE-1 is built to provide years of worry-free operation.
Professionally record your vocals anytime, anywhere, simply by placing the Eyeball on your microphone.
The Eyeball is acoustical treatment that isolates your microphone from the external environment. Rather than treating your surroundings, the Eyeball is designed to target the two most important variables in the recording process: your voice, and the microphone. By focusing your voice to an isolated microphone, the Eyeball is able to capture the complete spectrum of your voice and reduce much of the external environment, all the while giving you clear and concise vocals free of any coloration. Creating your ideal recording space is as easy as placing the Eyeball over your favorite microphone.
Control Your Sound:
Captures your pure vocal tone without any coloration
Cut back on mixing:
Lessens the need for excess equalization and post production processing
Includes a built-in, detachable pop filter
Reduce Ambiance and Reflection:
Isolates and treats your space while reducing the external environment

The FT201 Analog Filter/10-Step Sequencer is Koma's innovative voltage controlled vactrol state variable filter combined with a 10 step sequencer.
The FT201 is capable of providing ultra low and high frequency filter effects which are controllable with the on board infrared expression controller, which allows the user to create filter sweeps by moving their feet or hands over the pedal. The FT201 has 3 different filter outputs: band pass, low pass and high pass, which all work simultaneously. The cutoff frequency range is very large, between 20Hz and 20 kHz and because of the vactrols used the sound quality is superb. The 10 Step Sequencer runs through the selected amount of steps (2 - 10 steps) and adds the control voltage to the value set by the cutoff knob, thus modulating the cutoff frequency in every step.
This unit features a color LCD display, a first for KORG hand held tuners. A brilliant white backlight and an extremely clear color VA meter provide high contrast and a wide viewing angle. In addition to improving visibility, the text and the meter display are color-coded for dramatically easier pitch recognition. Rather than having to "watch" the meter, the performer merely has to "sense" it; these models allow instant recognition of your tuning status.
Even smaller and more compact than the previous card-sized units, this new model is smaller than a pack of gum, allowing it to easily fit into your instrument case or pocket. The weight has also been reduced to approximately one third of the previous model for effortless portability.
In cases where it's difficult for the built-in mic to pick up your own sound, such as when everyone is practicing at the same time, you can use the included contact mic. Just as with the KORG CM-200, this mic provides excellent sound transmission, durability, and fit. The Slimpitch uses a 3.5mm mini-jack as for the external contact mic, a first for KORG tuners. Providing a smaller jack allows the entire body to be more compact.
When previous tuners were placed on a music stand for use, they obscured the sheet music at that position and obstructed you from turning the page. When using previous, larger tuners on a music stand, they would often obscure the sheet music and prevent page-turning. With the Slimpitch, these problems are alleviated. A magnet is imbedded in the upper part of the body, allowing the tuner to be attached to the lower part of any steel music stand so that you can tune without obscuring your sheet music.
The transparent protective cover allows for safe storage, and can also be rotated for use as a stand that allows convenient placement on a table or other surface.
Despite its small size, the Slimpitch provides the high tuning accuracy and sensitivity that you expect from KORG. In addition to a broad detection range that covers every type of orchestral instrument, the tuner also provides a calibration function that supports a variety of concert pitches. There's also a transpose function that lets you smoothly tune transposing instruments in F, Bb, and Eb as well as the conventional C scale.
A variety of functions are available to support your tuning endeavors such as the auto power-off function which saves the battery if you forget to turn the unit off, and the memory backup function that preserves your settings even when the power is off.
Improve your swing with rhythm - an in-ear metronome for golf practice.
Designed for the golfer, the StrokeRhythm is an ultra-small metronome that fits in your ear like an earphone. By practicing your swing while listening to the beat directly in your ear, you can stabilize your rhythm and improve your swing. You can also choose from a wide range of tempo and beat settings to find a swing rhythm that's right for you. The jog switch allows smooth tempo adjustment, and a unique mechanism holds the unit securely in your ear.
Practice your swing while listening to the rhythm directly in your ear:
The StrokeRhythm is a unique style of metronome that you wear directly in your ear. Since the speaker unit simply fits in your ear, it lets you practice your swing to the rhythm that only you can hear in your own ear, without affecting any other golfers. The StrokeRhythm is also extremely small and lightweight, allowing you to concentrate on your swing without being distracted by fact that you're wearing a metronome.
Improving your form is of course an important aspect of improving your golf swing, but it's also critically important to practice regularizing the tempo and rhythm of your swing. Practice with the StrokeRhythm to ensure that your swing always maintains a steady tempo and rhythm.
A wide range of tempo and beat settings to match the rhythm of your swing:
The tempo setting range is a generous 30--252 bpm. Typical recommendations are to try a swing tempo of about 70 for men and about 60 for women, but you can experiment with a variety of tempo settings to find the tempo that's right for you. The beat can also be specified in the range of 0--9, so you can choose the beat that's best for you to practice your swing.
Also ideal for jogging and walking:
In addition to its usefulness when practicing a musical instrument, the StrokeRhythm can also enhance your exercise. For example, people who walk for the purpose of exercise or weight loss are often advised to walk at least 20 minutes at a regular pace of at least 70 meters per minute; by using the StrokeRhythm you can keep your training pace constant, synchronized to the sound of the metronome. This is a great way to maintain a consistent speed for walking, jogging, race-walking, weight training, or any other exercise.
Comfortably and securely fits a variety of ear shapes:
The StrokeRhythm utilizes two distinctive mechanisms to ensure a stable fit in any ear, large or small. The first is an Ear Fitter that extends from below the speaker. Its angle can be finely adjusted by rotating the speaker itself, allowing to fit the various shapes of ear hole. The second is an Ear Clip that opens or closes to fasten on the earlobe. The clip ensures a solid hold that will not be dislodged even by sudden shocks or vigorous movement when in use.
Use the jog switch to set the tempo intuitively:
The StrokeRhythm features a jog switch on the side of the body, allowing you to easily change the settings without removing the unit from your ear. Using the jog switch you can select not just the tempo setting, but also the beat, rhythm, and volume. This provides a compact yet highly intuitive method of operation. The power button, mode select button, and an LCD display that shows the tempo and other information are located on the inside of the body.
Extended operating time, and memory backup:
In spite of its ultra-small sized body, the StrokeRhythm provides approximately 200 hours of continuous operation using a coin-type lithium battery. The memory backup function remembers the tempo and other settings even when the power is off. The battery can be easily replaced by opening and closing the cover located on the back of the body.
Ear pad and carrying case included:
To enhance the fit, the StrokeRhythm includes a well-cushioned sponge ear pad (*). Also included is a carrying case that neatly stores the StrokeRhythm itself, the battery, and the ear pad. You can take this with you for convenient rhythm training anywhere you go.

Just press a single button to flexibly play back the rhythm you want. The high-quality speakers will produce a realistic and live-sounding rhythm session as though a real drum performance is being staged in front of the listener. There's a memory function that lets you register your favourite rhythms and playback tempo, as well as a chain function that lets you freely connect individual measures of rhythm styles. You can create original drum tracks to suit the songs that you're performing.
Simple-to-use recording and playback functions:
You can record your own performance along with the internal rhythm patterns or along with a song you've added to the SD card. You can record with undo/redo, and even register marks at desired locations in the recorded data and play back a region as a loop while you overdub. You can use this capability to create sketches for song ideas, to capture material for later work in your DAW, or create a full recording.
The STAGEMAN 80 is also equipped with an audio player function that can play back audio files (wav) from an SD card. Acoustage and the high-quality speakers mean that you can use this as a great-sounding listening system. You can also prepare backing tracks beforehand and perform along with them, using the STAGEMAN 80 as a PA amp. There's a playlist function (10 banks) that let you manage the file playback order of up to 24 songs, so you can play them back in the desired order during your live performances.
Additionally, the playback speed can be adjusted in a range of -25% to +25%, and you can specify that files play back repeatedly or in automatic succession. The STAGEMAN 80 gives you solid support with a wide range of functions that you'll actually use in your performances.
Mixer function that meets a variety of needs:
The STAGEMAN 80 lets you mix a variety of input sources simultaneously, including a mic input, two inputs to connect a guitar or bass, and an AUX input that supports line-level stereo output from devices such as an iPod or keyboard. Two-band EQ is provided, and you can apply reverb to your vocal (mic input) or acoustic guitar and so on (inputs 1/2) to enhance your presence.
Taktile features a stylish design that projects a sense of presence, together with the same great-feeling semi-weighted keyboard that's used on synthesizers and music workstations such as the KingKORG and KROME. It's loaded with functions that make it fun to play and use, such as a touch pad inherited from the Kaossilator that lets you play melodies using just a single finger, trigger pads that let you generate chords in the key and scale of your choice and an arpeggiator that includes rhythm patterns.
Of course, the taktile also delivers the functionality that you expect from a MIDI controller. It provides all of the basic controllers such as sliders and switches, and makes setup easy so you can start producing music right away. Convenience is not the only attraction of the taktile; it's a MIDI controller that's full of features that will stimulate your creativity.
The taktile is designed for simplicity; connect it to your computer via a single USB cable and the power turns on. It supports the major DAW/sequencer software (*2), and its easy setup lets you start creating music right away. Controllers can be freely assigned, making the taktile a USB/MIDI controller that will meet all demands, from controlling a mixer to editing your software synthesizers.
The touch pad located in the center of the taktile feature the Touch Scale function that was so popular on the KORG Kaossilator. Simply stroke the touch pad to generate melodies in the key and scale that you specify; you'll be able to use easy and intuitive gestures to perform musical phrases without needing advanced musical knowledge or keyboard performance skills. There's also an arpeggiator function with fifty different rhythm patterns, so you can play your software synthesizers with a single finger just as though you were using a Kaossilator.
The trigger pads placed in the right of the panel have two banks, A and B, and are also velocity-sensitive. Since the dynamics of your performance will be faithfully conveyed, your drum and percussion input will have a sense of life. The Chord Scale function automatically generates chords according to the key and scale that you specify. By using this in conjunction with the arpeggiator and the Touch Scale function of the touch pad, you'll find yourself finishing entire songs in no time at all. You can also assign chords that you yourself play, opening up endless possibilities that are limited only by your imagination.
The semi-weighted keyboard featured on the KROME and KingKORG music workstations and synthesizers - used by players around the world - is also featured on the taktile. No compromises have been made in the playing feel for either the 49-key or 25-key model. You can use these keyboards not just to enter notes on your desktop music production setup, but also for real-time performance.
The touch pad can also be used as a USB track pad, with gestures such as two-fingered vertical scrolling and tapping to click. Your productivity will be boosted since there's no need to interrupt your musical workflow.
The taktile is designed in a stylish matte finish black that you'll never tire of. With a high-contrast OEL (Organic Electroluminescent) full dot-matrix display, it's easy to check the settings on the device itself. There are two different types of LEDs available for the two trigger pad banks, A and B, providing both visual appeal and functionality. Attention has also been paid to fine details, for instance, the connectors are grouped together on the right panel so the rear panel will present a clean appearance.
The numerous bundled license/discount coupons mean that you'll be enjoying popular music software from the day you bring the tactile home. In addition to the Korg M1 Le software, these include titles that you'll enjoy using with the taktile, such as EZDrummer Lite, Ultra Analog Session, Strum Acoustic Session, Lounge Lizard Session, and Ableton Live discount coupon, and Reason Limited DAW software.
