Fledgling NYC operation Styles Upon Styles continue their impressive barrage of releases with a debut from Mexican producer White Visitation. First surfacing under the Visitation White banner with a contribution to last year's Winter Compilation from Opal Tapes, the anonymous Mexico City-based producer went flip mode, returning as White Visitation with two highly limited (and highly prized) self-released tapes that surfaced on the RVNG Intl site and promptly sold out. Both these tapes saw White Visitation grounded in a meditative hinterland where vintage dub techno was caked in thick layers of slowly degrading magnetic hiss. His arrival on SUS represents the debut vinyl White Visitation transmission and the three tracks on Ancestors provide a welcome introduction for those who missed out on his tape releases. Lead track "Permanent Swing" is a particular highlight, deftly building from silence to a crescendo of finely placed samples and careening percussive touches before falling once more into the ether.
