Review

On their second EP, Aussie imprint Club D'erange has handed the reins to Bronze Savage, a local artist who first made his name via an EP of humid Balearica earlier in the decade. This time round, the Australian producer has explored his darker side via a trio of moody and hallucinatory club cuts. This is best exemplified by droning, otherworldly techno opener 'Travelling Nonense Epistle (Cold Ibiza Mix)', where hushed and reverb-laden spoken word vocals from guest Emlyn Johnson wind their way around hypnotic machine drums, bluesy guitars, foreboding electronics and trippy sounds. Lou Mac lends a hand on the throbbing, EBM-goes-psychedelic intensity of 'Hard Yakka', while 'Refine' sounds like Severed Heads and Nitzer Ebb on a bad trip in the Aussie outback.
