Relative main men EMG and John Swing are back as Vinalog but this time on the latter's LiveJam imprint and it's business as usual: tough and dusty, all analogue street level house grooves. The 808 kick on A side cut "Old Man" nearly tears through the speakers, supported by spitting hi-hats encrusted in rust and a creepy monologue backed by a snarling monosynth and industrial metal textures. On the flip we've got "Old Mandolin", a stomping 130 BPM cut that is ferocious and overdriven to the max on this loopy swing fuelled jam that sounds like classic Paul Johnson on steroids. Then the song's namesake gradually creeps in. This is all you need right here!
