Review

Brokntoys is a London based label curated by Anwar, Athene & Kristopher Hall. They've previously brought us the likes of London Modular Alliance, Boris Bunnik under his Versalife alias and more recently Kovyazin D & Morales. It's now time for Vertical67, who since 2008 has released everywhere from 100% Silk to Lunar Disko and Berlin's Vortex Trax. The EP starts off with some gnarly and brooding electro on "Far Away Lights" complete with some good ol' acid grunt. They then get deep on "Morphed Reality"which gives you your fix of sub-aquatic, Drexciyan electro funk. On the flip, things take a much more majestic turn and this is definitely demonstrated best on "You Shouldn't Have Said That" which transports you to a darkwave electro fantasy world complete with more epic TB 303 action.
