In recent years, the artist otherwise known as Anaxander has been devoting more time and resources to his long-running electro and acid house side project, VernoN. The Claustrophobia EP - his first EP under the alias for almost 18 months - is typically raw, robust and mind-altering, with wild electronic motifs and spacey synth sounds leaping above titanium-clad electro beats. Highlights include the TB-303-laden acid-electro skip of 'Dawn Territory', the angry, fuzzy and intense throb of 'Propaganda' and the skewed, off-kilter brilliance of 'Piece For an Odyssey and Some Hand Percussions', where clicking, barely rhythm percussion sounds mingle with free-jazz style synth solos and other unsettling electronic sounds.
