There are many approaches to the humble remix album. Here, Jazzanova have decided to gather together some of their favourite reworks of their own tracks. The cuts included span the best part of a decade, from vintage remixes from Atjazz and Ame (both from 2004, and both still great) to more recent works from Motor City Dance Ensemble and Neve Naive. As usual, there's a flexible mix of deep and soulful styles on display, from the rolling Afro-grooves of Mr Scruff's take on "Boom Click Boom Clack" to the gorgeous nu-jazz of Ye:Solar's version of Ben Westbeech collab "I Can See". Overall, Upside Down makes for a bits and pieces release that's all killer, no filler.
